RITTER’S WIDOW ‘SHOCKED’ OVER WRONGFUL DEATH CASE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:17 pm

The widow of JOHN RITTER has spoken for the first time since two doctors were cleared of misdiagnosing the tragic actor’s fatal heart condition.
Amy Yasbeck and the couple’s eldest children had launched a $67 million (£33.5 million) wrongful death case against cardiologist Joseph Lee and radiologist Matthew Lotysch at Glendale’s Superior Court, following the actor’s sudden demise in September 2003.
But the case found neither professional was guilty of misconduct.
However, Yasbeck admits she was disappointed by the decision. She tells talk show host Larry King, "I was shocked because I know - I know the truth of what happened and I know because I was there.
"I was there for a good long time with John. He was sitting up and joking and laughing - and flirting. Without getting too specific, there was time and I think that what everybody learned from this trial is you don’t have to play the odds just because a heart attack is way more prevalent than an aortic dissection would be." She adds, "He was a brilliant husband. Absolutely brilliant. The most supportive person in everything I did. He was a wonderful partner.
"He was so funny. And you know, it’s like, you say, well, this, you always use humour to do - but when John Ritter decided to use humour on your, you couldn’t be sad, you couldn’t be anything but deeply in love."
