Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:23 pm

"I know I was always powerless over alcoholism, because it had such a grip on Mom’s adulthood and my childhood, and I never chose to fight it." The 33-year-old was hospitalised on 9 March (08), after pals including his former Jackass co-star Johnny Knoxville "physically forced" him to seek help for his mental issues, including bipolar disorder that had left him suffering "high highs and extremely low lows"

EASTWOOD FEELS LUCKY WITH SIXTH DIRTY HARRY FILM

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:20 pm

Veteran actor/director CLINT EASTWOOD is resurrecting the DIRTY HARRY franchise with the series’ first film in 20 years.
On Tuesday (18Mar08), studio executives at Warner Brothers revealed the 77-year-old legend will direct and star in Gran Torino. No further details were released, other than the project has a December (08) release date pencilled in.
However, according to movie news website AintItCoolNews.com, Gran Torino will be the sixth Dirty Harry film, and the first since 1988’s The Dead Pool.
Oscar-winning Eastwood, who last acted in 2004’s Million Dollar Baby, also starred as maverick cop Inspector Harry Callahan in Dirty Harry (1971), Magnum Force (1973), The Enforcer (1976) and Sudden Impact (1983), which he directed.

RITTER’S RUN IN WITH PHONY PSYCHIC

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:20 pm

Singer/songwriter JOSH RITTER was once offered comforting words from the afterlife by a psychic who wrongly assumed he was the son of late actor JOHN RITTER.
The folk star is regularly linked with the tragic TV star, who died suddenly from heart failure in 2003, because they share the same surname.
Ritter accepts the link is something he’ll always be forced to deny, but he was left dumbstruck when a clairvoyant approached him to reassure him his dead ‘dad’ is proud of him.
He says, "People always assume he’s my dad. I did a show in Philadelphia and there was this guy who said he was a psychic and who came with the express intention of telling me how John Ritter was doing in the afterlife.
"He said, ‘I want you to know your dad is very happy where he is, he’s very proud.’ He was so serious I didn’t want to spoil his moment. Then I called my dad and had a laugh about it."

YES TO TOUR WITH WAKEMAN’S SON

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:17 pm

Progressive rock supergroup YES are to hit the road for their 40th anniversary tour with departed keyboard player RICK WAKEMAN’s son OLIVER as a new recruit.
Wakeman Sr. explained his reasons for not taking part in the 26-date North American tour in a post on his website, but it appears his son doesn’t share his father’s fears that Yes are touring too often.
He’ll join band founders Steve Howe and Jon Anderson when Yes perform at Canada’s Quebec City Festival in July (08) at the start of the month-long trek.
In the explanation on his website, Rick Wakeman writes: "My major concern was that of over-touring, which I felt Yes had done since 2002 with far too many shows, especially in America which for me diminished the ’specialness’ of the band." Billboard.com reports this marks the fifth time Wakeman has quit the band.

STANLEY: ‘MY KISS DAYS ARE NUMBERED’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:17 pm

KISS rocker PAUL STANLEY has hinted he is on the verge of quitting the veteran band.
Alongside Gene Simmons, the 56-year-old is the only founding member of the Crazy Nights hitmakers still performing with Kiss.
And, although Stanley admits his time with the colourful rock supergroup is coming to an end, he sees no reason why his departure should signal the band’s demise.
He says, "I really, firmly believe there will come a time when the band will continue without me.
"Some people can’t imagine it without me, but I’m here to tell you, I can.
There is somebody out there with the same amount of passion and the same amount of drive. Which is not to say I wouldn’t want to have creative control.
"I think Kiss is more about a point of view, about a respect for fans and about a loyalty and a direction much more than it is the people in the band.
"We don’t follow the same rules as other bands. I can’t live within the boundaries people set for me. I believe Kiss is founded on something so solid that it will continue to live on, the way a football team continues. There have been great players, but there will always be other players."

THE ROLLING STONES star KEITH RICHARDS feels so disorientated after finishing a major tour, he compares the experience to withdrawal symptoms from hard drugs.
The legendary guitarist admits he gets so used to life on the road that it is a real shock to the system when the gigs finish and he is forced to go back to normal life.
The rockers completed their Bigger Bang world tour in August last year (07) and Richards is still trying to adjust.
He says, "It’s only within the last two or three weeks that I’ve stopped waking up wondering if it’s a play day or a travelling day. It takes that long.
I always expect it, but still you’ve got to go through it.
"It’s like a long withdrawal. When you finish, you want to start again.
Especially after two years, you get so used to that adrenaline punch, and when it gets cut off, well… it’s not as bad as smack, but it’s pretty bad."

LOPEZ: ‘I CONCEIVED NATURALLY’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:44 pm

JENNIFER LOPEZ has dismissed reports she and husband MARC ANTHONY conceived their newborn twins via in vitro fertilisation (IVF), insisting it took her years to get pregnant naturally.
The Jenny From The Block singer gave birth to son Max and daughter Emme in a Long Island, New York hospital on 22 February (08).
And Lopez is adamant the couple never turned to artificial insemination.
She tells U.S. magazine People, "It was natural. We didn’t do in vitro, which I know was reported.
"Everybody assumed that because we had twins. I wanted to have a baby, but I’ve always said exactly what I said all those years they (reporters) asked us since we’ve been married: ‘Well, when are you guys gonna have some kids?’ ‘When it happens naturally, I guess!’ "And that’s when it happened. It was a surprise to us." Lopez, 38, admits she often doubted whether she’d ever become a first-time mum.
She adds, "You start getting older, you think to yourself, ‘Maybe (having kids) is just not meant for me.’ "I knew there was nothing wrong with me. I knew that I could. Deep down, I really wanted it badly… (But) after one year, two years, three years… You know, you start thinking to yourself, ‘Well, maybe…’"
