Dre was hired to provide background music for key scenes in the film, despite his feud with the actor, who had publicly criticised violent rap lyrics.
The producer’s longterm collaborator Bruce Williams tells the New York Post, "We made sure that the music underneath that scene was the song Bitch Niggaz from The Chronic 2001, because that’s what we thought of that hater, Smith. We had to get our fun where we could."

HILLARY CLINTON’s presidential campaign has received a cash boost from SIR ELTON JOHN.
The Rocket Man has pledged his support to the presidential candidate by donating cash from a gig to her campaign.
The star will perform at a concert, entitled ‘Elton and Hillary: One Night Only’, at the Radio City Music Hall in New York on 9 April (08).

Hellraising rocker SHANE MacGOWAN is unfairly labelled a shambling drunk, according to his THE POGUES bandmate TERRY WOODS.
MacGowan was recently accused of taking his love of alcohol too far at a concert in Chicago, Illinois, when he took to the stage late and appeared under the influence throughout his act.

JOHN LENNON’s ex-girlfriend MAY PANG came within days of reuniting THE BEATLES during her 18-month relationship with the star. May Pang dated Lennon during his "lost weekend" in 1974 and 1975, after working as his assistant for three years. They came together after Yoko Ono encouraged them to date because her marriage to the rocker was faltering. Pang claims it was her objective during their romance to reunite Lennon with his estranged writing partner Paul McCartney - and bring the Fab Four back together. And she insists she came close - Lennon was making plans to join McCartney in New Orleans when he suddenly returned to Yoko Ono. Pang says, "It was my goal at the end to get them back together. That’s what I wanted. We talked about reuniting the Beatles. At one point he wanted to do it. For the hell of it. Because there wasn’t any pressure, any contracts. He’d say, ‘That’d be fun.’ "Enough time had passed and he was enjoying himself performing with other musicians. It was fun again. John said to me one day, ‘What do you think if I start to write with Paul again?’ I said, ‘Are you kidding? that would be great.’ He asked me why? And I told him, ‘Solo-wise, you’re good. Together there’s something so magical you can’t beat.’ "They were talking about it originally for 1974, but everybody was busy. Then they talked about adding other musicians. Harry Nilsson wanted to be part of it, other people wanted to be part of it." Pang claims any hope the Beatles had of reuniting died the day Lennon suddenly returned to live with Yoko Ono at New York’s Dakota Building. She says, "Yoko called him up one day. She had this method she had to help him quit smoking. He said, ‘I’ll be gone for a couple of hours. I’ll be back, we’ll go for dinner and talk about going to New Orleans.’" Lennon never came back and the Beatles plans died. But Pang insists he was serious about bringing back the Beatles: "He was really thinking about it. It was so fantastic." Pang, 57, is currently promoting a book of rare Lennon photographs, Instamatic Karma.

Rap superstar SEAN ‘DIDDY’ COMBS has hit back at a newspaper report linking him to a gun attack on TUPAC SHAKUR.
The Los Angeles Times claims Combs and the Notorious B.I.G. were told of plans to attack Shakur at a New York Recording studio in 1994.
Shakur was shot five times, but survived the assault - two years before he was murdered in Las Vegas.
Combs has blasted the article, telling New York gossip column PageSix.com, "This story is beyond ridiculous and is completely false. Neither Biggie nor I had any knowledge of any attack before, during or after it happened. It is a complete lie to suggest that there was any involvement by Biggie or myself. I am shocked that the Los Angeles Times would be so irresponsible as to publish such a baseless and completely untrue story."

Rocker MEAT LOAF turns his dressing room into a pharmacy on tour these days so he can get energised for concerts. The 60-year-old Bat Out Of Hell singer insists on a ritual of cough drops, vitamins, vocal spray and energy boosters before stepping out on stage. He tells WENN, "If you go into my dressing room there’s a little bowl with Ricola cough drops in it and Vocal Zones (lozenges) and the spray is Singer’s Secret. "There’s vitamins - two kinds of Bs, a C - and then there are energy plus tablets. I know they help me." Meat Loaf insists his pre-show dressing room ritual also helps him calm his nerves. He adds, "At two o’clock in the afternoon before a show I’m so uptight and so nervous and so antsy and so afraid and so paranoid. "But I’m slow about taking the remedies, which start about 5pm. THE PUNISHER star THOMAS JANE is set to be punished after police caught him drink driving early on Monday morning (17Mar08).

It’s incredibly sad.’ She also claimed her husband of four years had wanted to make the judgement public, something Heather claims she didn’t want.
She added: ‘What the judge has also said is that Paul is only worth £400 million. Everyone knows that he has been worth £800 million for the past 15 years. ‘Paul has always wanted it public because he wants to look like generous Sir Paul.’ Heather, 40, said she will launch an appeal about the publication of the settlement, as she’s worried about the safety of Beatrice.
When asked whether 65-year-old Paul had been cruel, she replied: ‘I can’t say that for the sake of my daughter, but my sister does.
‘I just want to thank everybody, especially my sister Fiona, for being so supportive for me.’ Charity campaigner Heather also admitted she was ‘glad’ the divorce is over and insisted ‘it was an incredible result to secure mine and my daughter’s future’. As part of the deal, she will receive £14 million for herself and £2.5 million to buy a house in London. Heather was also awarded assets of £7.8 million. The settlement will also see Paul cover Beatrice’s nanny and school fees and pay his daughter £35,000 a year. A spokesman for Paul said the singer would not be commenting on the settlement.

HEATHER MILLS has launched a scathing attack on ex-husband SIR PAUL McCARTNEY’s lawyer - accusing her of mishandling their divorce case.
Mills won $33 million (£16.5 million) cash with assets worth $15.6 million (£7.8 million) following the breakdown of her four-year marriage to the former Beatle.
But speaking outside London’s High Court, Mills accused Fiona Shackleton of causing her funerary upset during the case.
She says, "They wanted to charge me £600,000 ($1.2 million) just to do this trial which could quite easily have gone to charity. (Our split) was amicable, we had planned this for months. But whatever you read, it was dealing with an impossible side. "Fiona Shackleton is very sadly handling this case in the worst manner you could ever imagine. She has called me many many names before meeting me in the wheelchair."

LATEST: SIR PAUL McCARTNEY’s ex-wife HEATHER MILLS has been awarded $48.6 million (£24.3 million) in a divorce settlement.
The couple - who wed in 2002 - failed to reach an agreement last month (Feb08) and it was left to a London High Court judge to make the final decision.
According to High Court papers, Mills asked for $250 million (£125 million), but the former Beatle offered her $31.6 million (£15.8 million).
On Monday (17Mar08), Mills was awarded $33 million (£16.5 million) cash with assets worth $15.6 million (£7.8 million).
Speaking outside the court, Mills said she is pleased with the judgement and remains friends with her ex-husband: "I am very, very, very happy. I was always going to get between £20 and £30 million ($40 and $60 million), but Sir Paul was offering much less than that.
"The judge said Paul was only worth £400 million ($800 million), but everyone has known he has been worth £800 million ($1.6 billion) for the last 15 years.
"I wasn’t allowed any access into any of our accounts, I was locked out of every home. I hope now that me and my daughter can have a life and not be followed every single day. Apart from one TV thing, I have kept silent for 21 months. I wanted to keep it private but he wanted it made public he always wants to look like he’s generous Sir Paul." Mills will not appeal against the judge’s decision, but will appeal on Tuesday (18Mar08) against the decision to release court papers which disclose details about the couple’s four-year-old daughter Beatrice. She adds, "I am standing here because Paul is insistent on the whole judgment being put out. I’ve said that if the whole judgment goes out then all the transcripts have to go out because it’s going to be written in a way that they will try and make it that I wasn’t successful.
"The only reason I’m appealing tomorrow morning… I’m not appealing the judgment but the publication of it as it includes private secure matters about my daughter. It’s gone against everything to do with human rights." The couple’s divorce case had been held in private, but it is believed the judge released the agreed figure in a bid to end speculation over the size of the financial settlement. McCartney, 65, married Mills, 40, four years after his first wife Linda died from breast cancer.

YOKO ONO and JOHN LENNON began divorce proceedings five years before he was murdered - the late Beatle’s ex-girlfriend claims. The star dated his former assistant May Pang for 18 months from 1974 to 75, with Ono’s consent and encouragement - because the couple’s own marriage was in turmoil. They spent time together in Los Angeles and New York - described later by Lennon as his "lost weekend" - before the star unexpectedly returned to Ono.
Thirty-three years later, Pang is promoting a book of intimate snaps she took during her fling with Lennon - and recounting memories of their time together.
