WALLIAMS BURGLED DURING CHARITY DRIVE
LITTLE BRITAIN star DAVID WALLIAMS has fallen victim to a gang of thieves who raided his home while he raised money for charity.
The British comedian arrived at his London home on Saturday (15Mar08) morning after appearing on BBC fundraiser Sport Relief the previous evening (14Mar08), only to discover his house had been burgled.
Police spent five hours inside Walliams’ house searching for evidence, and believe the star was targeted as robbers knew he would be away from his home on Friday night for the scheduled TV appearance.
Walliams raised money for Sport Relief by swimming 12 miles (19.1 kilometres) across the treacherous Gibraltar Straits with former British Olympic rower James Cracknell. Walliams previously raised $2 million (£1 million) for the charity after swimming the English Channel in 2006.
