FILTER RETEAMS WITH SOLDIER BASSIST IN KUWAIT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:52 am

Heavy rockers FILTER enjoyed a special reunion with former bassist FRANK CAVANAGH on Monday (10Mar08) while performing for U.S. troops stationed in Kuwait.
Cavanagh quit the band to become a soldier and when he discovered his former bandmates would be playing for his fellow troops in the Middle East, he asked for special permission to join them onstage.
Cavanagh played Hey Man, Nice Shot with his former group, calling the show "a huge honour".
He says, "I love the Army and I love Filter. To be able to join my former band for the first time in nearly six years is a huge honour." Filter were performing for troops as part of the Operation MySpace tour, which also features the Pussycat Dolls and Jessica Simpson.
The band has a special reason for visiting troops overseas - the tour and their new single Soldiers Of Misfortune are tributes to a fan who joined the Army reserves only to be killed in a rocket attack just days after landing in Iraq on his first assignment.
