Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:58 pm

Actress KRISTIN DAVIS is raising money for charity by auctioning off two VIP tickets to the SEX AND THE CITY movie premiere in New York City.
Davis, who returns as Charlotte York in the upcoming TV series spin-off film, is offering a pair of tickets to May’s (08) premiere in an online sale on auction website eBay.
The winning bidder and a friend will have their hair and make-up professionally styled, receive a pair of Jimmy Choo shoes and accompany Davis down the red carpet at the screening.
All funds raised from the sale will go to charity Oxfam.
Davis says, "Oxfam’s mission is to alleviate poverty and injustice by helping people learn skills and create lives.
"I just got back from Africa and saw firsthand that we’re making a long-term difference. It gives me a sense of satisfaction." Davis has become the latest in a long line of celebrities auctioning off movie premiere `dates’ for Oxfam - Colin Firth offered one last month (Feb08) and Scarlett Johansson is selling off the chance to accompany her to a film premiere in 2009 on eBay right now.

DeGENERES TAKES AIM AT POLITICIAN’S ANTI-GAY STANCE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:58 pm

Comedienne ELLEN DeGENERES attempted to take Oklahoma politician SALLY KEARN to task for outrageous public comments she made about homosexuals - only to find the state representative wasn’t answering calls.
Kearn was caught on tape telling Oklahomans that homosexuality "is the death knell in this country", and adding, "I honestly think it’s the biggest threat… even more so than terrorism or Islam." She also claimed that teachers are trying to indoctrinate children and teach them that the homosexual lifestyle is "an acceptable lifestyle".
The tape made its way onto YouTube.com, prompting a public outcry - and it was clear that openly gay DeGeneres was appalled when she played a segment on her TV show on Wednesday (12Mar08).
The stunned talk show host sat silent and still after playing Kearn’s comments, before stating, "OK, I feel like there’s some misinformation going on here. I think I need to call her… She’s clearly just mistaken." DeGeneres phoned Kearns live during her show and reached a voicemail, but when she tried to leave a message, it was revealed the answering machine was full.
The indignant host said, "I bet," before leaving her own message via her TV show.
DeGeneres said, "Hi, it’s Ellen DeGeneres, the gay one… I just wanna talk to you… I feel I could clear some things up."

MEAT LOAF UPSET FANS WITH BROKEN VOICE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:55 pm

Rocker MEAT LOAF turned fans against him at a show in Vancouver, Canada last year (Nov07) when his voice gave up mid-song.
The Dead Ringer For Love hitmaker lost his voice during his warm-up routine for the show, but he felt so sure adrenalin and a dose of energy drinks and vitamins would help him make it through the concert he refused to cancel.
Then an hour into the gig, he could no longer sing.
He recalls, "Soundcheck was a little rough and it didn’t really bother me but, as we got to 8pm, I did my warm-up where I sing with the piano and nothing was coming out.
"I kept singing and singing and said, ‘OK, it’s there, let’s go.’ "It was one hour, one minute and 56 seconds into the show and my voice stopped in front of 16,000 people. It felt like the last show I’ll ever do. I even said that to the audience: ‘Look, I want to thank you, it’s been great but my voice is gone and I don’t know if I’ll ever be back.’ "There were 16,000 angry people at me. I got a lot of angry hate mail. They wanted refunds."
