The Beverly Hills 90210 star and her brother Randy each inherited just $800,000 (£400,000) when their TV mogul dad died in June 2006.
But despite claims she was devastated by the sleight - and her suffering near bankruptcy in the aftermath - the 34-year-old insists, "I wasn’t shocked. And I don’t believe it was (a slap). We knew exactly what we were getting. My brother and I were both getting less than a million.
"I’m ok, but I work hard."

An armed intruder has been arrested at KATE HUDSON’s New York City home.
Police were called to the property on Tuesday (11Mar08) afternoon after a woman spotted two men with what appeared to be a rifle on the roof of the actress’ home.
Upon their arrival, cops found one man carrying an unloaded rifle, while the other was holding a camera.
The young unidentified males claimed they had been shooting a movie and are currently being questioned at the scene, according to TMZ.com.
As WENN goes to press, it is unknown whether Hudson was present at the property at the time of the incident.

LATEST: BRITNEY SPEARS will play a secretary in her forthcoming cameo in sitcom HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER.
The show’s star Neil Patrick Harris has revealed all about Spears’ forthcoming acting foray, dubbing her part a "very interesting role".
She says, "I was shocked that Madame Spears was willing to come and do some acting! She hasn’t acted in a while
. She plays the secretary to another girl that Ted (played by Josh Radnor) is after.
"It will be very unlike any Britney we have seen before, and we have seen a lot of Britney recently." And Harris is intrigued about the prospect of meeting the troubled superstar: "What if she shows up on set and she is absolutely, totally normal and that whole thing has been a big ruse? Veteran British actor SIR ROGER MOORE is teaming up with his son GEOFFREY to produce a new version of his classic 1960s spy thriller THE SAINT.
The former James Bond star, 80, is currently working on bringing the popular series back to life for a two-hour TV movie special.
Moore, who produced and directed several of the original shows, is reportedly keen to sign up Brit actor James Purefoy - who is best known for his starring part in historical drama Rome - to play leading character Simon Templar.
Filming on the one-off movie is set to begin next month (Apr08), with sets in Budapest, Hungary and Puerto Rico.
Moore played the fictional detective Templar in the original series from 1962 until 1969. The show also became a hit abroad and was aired in the U.S. in the 1960s.

GREY’S ANATOMY star PATRICK DEMPSEY has donated $250,000 (£125,000) of his own money to a hospital in his hometown.
The cash will go towards a new cancer centre at the Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, Maine.
The new facility, called the Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope and Healing, will open on 31 March (08) and will be managed by the actor’s sister Mary.
Dempsey, 42, was born in the hospital and his mother Amanda has been successfully treated there for ovarian cancer, reports PageSix.com.

Colombian rocker JUANES is set to headline a free concert on the Colombia-Venezuela border to urge the conflicting nations to resolve their political issues.
The 35-year-old Latin Grammy-winner is hoping to team up with other Latin artists at the concert to put on a show of unity to demand the region’s governments begin discussions to find a resolution for the crisis.
The concert will take place in between the Colombian city of Cucuta and the Venezuelan city of San Antonio de Tachira within the next three weeks, according to reports.
In recent months, relations between the Andean nations, including Ecuador, have been taut - with the dispute stemming from the alleged Columbian troop killings of a large number of guerrillas, including a top rebel leader, in Ecuadorian territory.
The Un Día Normal star is famed for his humanitarian work - he previously performed at the Nobel Peace Prize awards ceremony in 2007 to raise awareness of anti-personnel mines in Colombia.

Folk singer LEONARD COHEN is to embark on a world tour later this year (08) his first in 15 years.
The Canadian star’s tour will kick off on 6 June in his native Toronto and will include dates in London; Oslo, Sweden; Lisbon, Portugal; Nice, France; Prague, Czech Republic, and Istanbul, Turkey, before concluding Vienna, Austria on 29 August.
The announcement, which follows the 73-year-old’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in New York on Monday (10Mar08), does not currently feature any concerts in the U.S.

R&B star RAY J watches his controversial sex tape regularly, so he can analyse and critique his bedroom performance.
The singer is the star of a saucy video he shot with his ex-girlfriend, socialite Kim Kardashian, during a vacation in Mexico.
And while he insists he never sits down and watches it with friends, he uses it as an educational tool so he can study and improve on his performance.
He tells talk show host Tyra Banks, "I would never watch that with one of my friends but I did watch it to watch my performance. It’s kind of like a football game and afterwards you watch the game and see how you can get better at it."

Rockers R.E.M. are set to preview their new LP via social networking site Facebook - allowing its users to listen to new tracks before the album is released.
In a groundbreaking move, the Losing My Religion stars will stream their new Accelerate album through the site’s iLike application from 24 March (08) almost a week before the album is due to hit record shop shelves.
R.E.M. are the first major act to use the medium of iLike to preview their music, and frontman Michael Stipe claims the move is needed if the band are to stay ahead in modern music.
The 48-year-old tells Billboard.com, "I think you can either go with it or sit back and watch it happen, and I would rather be out on the field than in the bleachers."

Rocker JON BON JOVI has finally sold his New York home, after dropping $1.5 million (£750,000) from the asking price.
The singer has been trying to offload the Upper West Side pad since 2006, when it was offered for $6.9 million (£3.45 million).
But it didn’t sell until Bon Jovi dropped his expectations and accepted an offer of $5.4 million (£2.7 million).
However, he has still managed to make a $3.6 million (£1.8 million) profit on the condominium - he originally bought it for just $1.85 million (£9.25 million) in 1998.
Bon Jovi and his family moved out of the pad last June (07), and currently live in a $24 million (£12 million) penthouse in New York’s SoHo district.

LATEST: Rapper REMY MA’s lawyer has accused the star’s alleged assault victim of altering her evidence relating to a 2007 nightclub shooting, to suit her own financial benefit.
Attorney Ivan Fisher made the verbal attack in a Manhattan, New York courtroom on Monday (10Mar08) as part of his opening statement in the MC’s trial on charges of assault against Makeda Barnes-Joseph.
Remy Ma - real name Remy Smith - is currently standing trial after being accused of assault, criminal possession of a weapon, gang assault and witness intimidation following the shooting of the 23-year-old outside a New York club last July (07).
Fisher implied Barnes-Joseph changed her account of the incident after her lawyer began to compile a $20 million (£10 million) lawsuit against the hip-hop star - which has now been increased to $80 million (£40 million).
However, Assistant District Attorney Jason Berland argued Remy Ma has a history of involvement in violent altercations, citing an August (07) incident in which Barnes-Joseph’s boyfriend had his jaw broken after an alleged order by the rapper.
He told the Supreme Court, "(Remy Ma) is not the type of person to sit back and let people testify against her." Prosecutors allege the incident was sparked when Smith discovered $2,000 (£1,000) missing from her purse and accused Barnes-Joseph of stealing the money.
Remy Ma was initially also charged with attempted murder, but the count was dropped after investigators found the gun had been fired accidentally.
She has pleaded not guilty to all charges and is facing 25 years behind bars if convicted.

JANET JACKSON’s representative has played down reports of the singer’s hospitalisation in Los Angeles on Monday (10Mar08), insisting she was just suffering from influenza.
The R&B superstar sparked fears for her health after she was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center late on Monday "with a shortness of breath", according to Usmagazine.com.
But the Nasty hitmaker’s spokesperson has reassured fans about the star’s illness, saying, "She’s just battling this flu like everyone else. Janet is fine." As WENN goes to press, it is currently unknown whether or not Jackson has been discharged from the hospital.

Former JAMES BOND star ROGER MOORE has finally agreed to write a book on his life - because many of the people he will mention are not around to read it. The 80-year-old actor has always put off penning an autobiography, fearing he’d upset his acquaintances on and off screen with his revelations. However, now most of them have passed away, he’s changed his mind. He tells Dutch Television programme RTL Boulevard, "My wife has persuaded me that I should write my book. Before I forget everything. And which is happening rapidly. "I never really wanted to write my book about my life, cause I was thinking there were too many people alive, but now, a few are disappearing, so I can write about it." Moore plans to tell the story of his childhood as well as documenting his rise to fame and his experiences while playing 007 in seven of the superspy films.

Pop superstar MADONNA is desperate to downsize her live shows - because she wants to perform in more intimate venues.
The singer, who played to arena audiences of thousands on The Confessions Tour in 2006, insists it’s her dream to scale down her gigs and instead sing live in an opera house.
She says, "I have always wanted to do intimate performances. My dream is to go around doing shows in opera houses but, you know, who makes money in opera houses? "When I create my shows they are normally quite intricate. I have always wanted to do grand shows but in really intimate venues, which never seems to be possible."

Singer/actress JILL SCOTT is to become a regular on U.S. TV after show producers decided to turn her small screen movie THE NO.1 LADIES’ DETECTIVE AGENCY into a series.
The soul diva was asked to take on the role after starring as lead heroine Precious Ramotswe in the Anthony Minghella-directed TV film last year (07), which aired on U.S. cable channel HBO.
The film and forthcoming 13-episode series has been adapted from Alexander McCall Smith’s books, which follow the fortunes of the only female-owned detective agency in the African nation of Botswana.
Dreamgirls star Anika Noni Rose will also reprise her role in the TV movie for the new series.
The show will be screened by HBO in the U.S. and Canada, while the BBC will distribute the show in the U.K.

Hit lesbian drama THE L WORD is to be axed after its sixth and final season airs in 2009.
The show, which focuses on a group of Los Angeles-based friends and boasts a cast including Jennifer Beals and Pam Grier, debuted in 2004 and was the first lesbian primetime show on U.S. television.
Even though the sixth season will be its last, executives at American cable channel Showtime have decided only to film eight episodes of the show - just over half of what is usually ordered by the broadcaster.
But series creator and executive producer Ilene Chaiken insists The L Word will live on via the Internet.
She says, "This is by no means the end of The L Word. The brand and the social network community, OurChart.com, will continue to live and be a destination for lesbians everywhere and a lasting tribute to what ‘The L Word’ has accomplished.
"It has been a privilege to do this series and tell these stories and have these characters in my life and to share them with the show’s passionate fans.
I am thrilled that Showtime has given us this final opportunity to conclude this journey we have all taken together."

HOUSE star HUGH LAURIE has confessed to experimenting with painkiller Vicodin but warns others to be "careful" with the powerful drug.
The British actor, 48, admits he had previously dabbled with the drug - the same one his TV character Dr. Gregory House is addicted to - but claims he only tried it out so he could identify with his on-screen persona’s struggle with the strong substance.
Speaking to U.K. magazine Radio Times, he says, "I wouldn’t recommend it - we have to be careful.
"But then again, if you’re not in pain, it gives a floaty, pleasurable feeling."

Producers of TYRA BANKS’ hit show AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL are facing legal action from landlord MICHAEL MARVISI, amid allegations the latest group of wannabe catwalk stars wrecked their rented New York apartment causing $500,000 (£250,000)-worth of damage.
The current batch of contestants on the 10th season of the reality TV programme are alleged to have broken a $15,000 (£7,500) chandelier beyond repair, left food and make-up stains all over the posh $6 million (£3 million) loft apartment, while water damage has forced Marvisi to call in electricians to sort out the mess.
Furthermore, the show’s crew has been accused of completely ruining the Brazilian wood floors and punching "hundreds of holes in the ceiling to hang lighting equipment".
And the callous treatment of his plush property has left Marvisi "devastated", reports the New York Post’s gossip column PageSix.
A source says, "These girls not only destroyed the floors, it appears they had food fights. There’s ketchup and coffee splattered all over the landlord’s $20,000 white drapes. There’s lipstick on the walls. They moved in furniture and made holes all along the walls…
"The landlord is devastated. Three other shows approached him (to use the apartment) and he turned them all down for ‘Top Model.’ And a tenant was supposed to move in a week ago, but when the place wasn’t ready, they pulled out. Tyra Banks should be ashamed of herself." America’s Next Top Model producers are also said to have "skipped out" on a $1,500 (£750) electricity bill, leaving Marvisi to pick up the tab himself.
And although show bosses offered to settle the dispute for $125,000 (£62,500), Marvisi has yet to receive any money, prompting him to consider launching a lawsuit against them.
The 10th cycle of America’s Next Top Model, created and executive produced by Banks, premiered on U.S. cable network The CW in February (08).
