LATEST: Pop superstar JANET JACKSON has reportedly scrapped her appearance on U.S. TV show Saturday NIGHT LIVE after falling ill.
The Nasty singer was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on Monday night (10Mar08) with a "shortness of breath", according to UsMagazine.com.
Jackson’s representatives have since insisted the pop star is "fine" but she has pulled out of performing on Saturday Night Live this weekend (15Mar08), according to TMZ.com.
The star’s spokeswoman has revealed Jackson is suffering from the flu, "like everyone else".
Jackson was scheduled to perform two numbers on the show, which is to be guest hosted by Superbad star Jonah Hill.

Actress TORI SPELLING has finally admitted to having a boob job.
The 34-year-old, who has also had surgery on her nose, has revealed she had the breast augmentation to put an end to speculation about the size of her chest.
She says, "(I had) a boob job. There it is. I finally said it.
"I wanted to come clean that I had my boobs done in my 20s, because people falsely write that I’ve had all those things done.
"I’ve had the two procedures that probably every other woman in Hollywood has had done."

Pregnant actress TORI SPELLING has launched another attack on her mother in her new book, claiming she cheated on her dying dad.
The former Beverly Hills, 90210 star and her mother Candi fell out over TV mogul Aaron Spelling’s will, but recently reconciled after the actress gave birth to her first child last year (07).
But now, their relationship is set to be tested again by revelations in Tori’s new book sTori Telling, in which she claims her mother had an affair while her father was dying.
She says, "I feel that at this point it’s all out there and it’s the truth.
So what can they say now?" But, despite the past and the revelations in the new book, Tori insists she and her mother are on good terms.
She adds, "It’s fine… She’s a great grandmother and, at this point in my life, that’s all I can ask for… that she has a relationship with my son, a relationship with my future child and that bonds us in a way."

LATEST: Police have confirmed the "armed intruders" arrested at KATE HUDSON’s New York City home on Tuesday (11Mar08) were student filmmakers shooting a project at the building.
Police were called to the property after a woman spotted three men with what appeared to be a rifle on the roof of the actress’ home.
When they arrived, cops found the men carrying a "prop gun" and a "script" the young identified males claimed they were shooting a student movie and had no idea Hudson lived in the building, reports website TMZ.com.

JIM CARREY shocked fans on DAVID LETTERMAN’s late night talk show on Monday (10Mar08), when he showed up in a bathrobe and then stripped naked.
The comedian performed a skit pretending he’d forgotten about the switch to daylight saving time on Saturday night (8Mar08), and was being massaged in his hotel, when he should have been on the show.
After dashing onto the set wearing just a robe, socks and slippers, Carrey told Letterman, "I was at a spa at the hotel. I was in the middle of an incredible massage. Then Svetlana started talking about daylight saving time. I immediately went flaccid and I ran right over here." He then hid behind a chair, stripped down to nothing and got dressed in clothes handed to him by an assistant called Lance.
Carrey also produced a prop gun he told the host was for scaring paparazzi photographers: "I’m not a very good shot. It’s really about the paparazzi. Once you start waving that about…"

LATEST: SCARLETT JOHANSSON has sparked a bidding frenzy on auction website eBay.com after offering fans the chance to accompany her to a future movie premiere.
More than 161 people have bid on the date, with over a million interested parties visiting the site.
The top bid has reached $38,200 (£19,100). The 10-day auction ends on Wednesday (12Mar08).
The lucky winner will accompany the star to the premiere of her forthcoming movie He’s Just Not That Into You in Los Angeles in June next year (09).
All proceeds from the Auction Cause sale will go to charity Oxfam.
The Lost In Translation star isn’t the only star offering themselves up for auction for Oxfam - Minnie Driver is auctioning off a $100,000 (£50,000) lunch date as part of an upcoming initiative between the actress’ hit U.S. TV show The Riches and Oxfam America.

The citizens of Huntsville, Alabama are celebrating after their city won the honour of hosting a special screening of new children’s movie HORTON HEARS A WHO! this Thursday (13Mar08).
Huntsville will become Whoville for the day after winning the Horton Hears A You - Hometown Challenge.
The competition required a crowd to gather and scream "We are here!" as loudly as possible - and the people who got together outside a Huntsville Havoc hockey game to shout the phrase proved louder than their competitors in cities including New York; West Orange, New Jersey; Blue Springs, Missouri; and Fresno, California.
Everyone who participated for Huntsville will receive a free pass to attend Thursday’s VIP screening.

Oscar-nominated animated movie PERSEPOLIS has been banned in Lebanon.
Authorities in the Middle Eastern country claim the film, about a young girl growing up during the 1979 Iranian revolution, presents a distorted image of Muslims in Iran.
Lebanese officials say they’ve banned the movie, which is based on the autobiographical graphic novel by co-director Marjane Satrapi, because they want to avoid potentially offending any pro-Iranian elements in Lebanon, including political and paramilitary opposition organisation Hezbollah.
However, Persepolis’ distributors Front Row Entertainment are still hoping the film will be granted a DVD release in the country.
The company’s Gianluca Chacra says, "They (Lebanese authorities) want to stay on the safe side and not create any more friction. We’re still hoping for a DVD release in Lebanon."

Staunch Republican DENNIS HOPPER is considering switching sides in the upcoming U.S. presidential race after Democrat BARACK OBAMA took time to honour his late mother.
Hopper’s wife Victoria Duffy is a huge Obama fan and insisted her husband was with her at a rally when the senator announced his bid to run for The White House.
And Hopper was so impressed he joined his wife at early campaign dates and then found himself in an elevator with Obama at one rally.
Hopper recalls, "My mother had died three months before and my wife had obviously mentioned something to Obama.
"I only met him a couple of times before and he turned to me in this crowded elevator and said, ‘I’m so sorry to hear about your mother.’ He said, ‘I know your mother is from Kansas and so is mine. I didn’t have an opportunity to give you condolences but you have my sympathy.’ "I thought, ‘In the middle of this day with all this stuff going on, you have the presence of mind to turn to me in this crowded elevator and say that - that is really remarkable.’ "That’s somebody who has great humanity and (somebody) who has presence of mind - important qualities for a president.
"But I’m still a Republican. I haven’t made up my mind if I’m going to vote Republican this year. I’m still watching." Hopper’s choice has been made easier by the fact there is now only one Republican candidate in the race for The White House - war hero and author John McCain. Obama and Hillary Clinton are still fighting for the Democratic candidacy.

GILLIGAN’S ISLAND star DAWN WELLS spent five days in jail last week (ends07Mar08) after pleading guilty to reckless driving following a recent arrest on suspicion of possessing marijuana.
The 69-year-old star was sentenced to five days in jail, placed on six months’ probation and fined $410.50 (£255.25) at a hearing in Driggs, Idaho on 29 February (08).
Wells agreed to plead guilty under the terms of an agreement that saw three other charges - driving under the influence, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia - dropped.
She was stopped by cops on 18 October (07) as she was driving home from a surprise birthday party held for her, after officers spotted her vehicle swerving across a road.
Teton County Sheriff’s Deputy Joseph Gutierrez claimed he found half-smoked joints and two small cases used to store marijuana in her car. Wells also failed a field sobriety test.
The actress told Gutierrez she’d given a lift to three hitchhikers who had begun smoking the joints, and that she was swerving in the road because she was trying to turn up the heating in her car.
Before the plea agreement was finalised, her lawyer Ron Swafford told the hearing that a friend of the star had admitted leaving the marijuana in Wells’ car and that several witnesses were prepared to testify that Wells wasn’t intoxicated when she left the party.

Actress PORTIA DE ROSSI has signed up to pay tribute to a murdered homosexual in a new public service announcement TV ad, just days after her partner ELLEN DeGENERES tearfully honoured the gay teen.
Comedienne DeGeneres admitted she was deeply affected by the murder of teenager Lawrence King during an emotional outburst on her TV show Ellen last month (Feb08).
The 15-year-old was shot in the head at the E.O. Green School in Oxnard, California on 12 February (08) - reportedly for being a homosexual.
And now Rossi has joined the cause to honour King - she appears in a new PSA, which debuted on America’s gay TV network Logo on Monday (10Mar08).
Rossi says, "Imagine if wearing make-up and a dress could get you killed. For 15-year-old Lawrence King, that’s just what happened." Grey’s Anatomy star T.R. Knight, Janet Jackson, Andre 3000 and Ashanti also appear in the 60-second ad.

Rocker GENE SIMMONS made a KISS superfan’s dreams come true on Tuesday (11Mar08) - by presenting him with a table lamp.
Simmons made a surprise appearance on U.S. TV show Rachael Ray to present a fan called Alex with the rare gift - a Kiss-themed lamp.
Earlier in the show, Ray had an interior designer reorganise Alex’s ‘Kiss room’ in his house, only for the clumsy decorator to accidentally break one of his prized Kiss memorabilia.
So Ray surprised Alex by having Simmons come on the show with the table lamp replacement gift.
The Crazy Nights star told his shocked fan, "You’re a remarkable man."

Rockers BON JOVI will score a new Canadian performance record when they play in Toronto on Thursday (13Mar08).
The concert at the Air Canada Centre will mark the fifth time the band has played the venue on the same tour - the first time any touring act has achieved the feat.

MOTLEY CRUE star NIKKI SIXX has paid tribute to the addiction expert he credits for saving his life after learning of his pal’s death.
The bass player issued a statement on Tuesday (11Mar08) after hearing of the passing of revered California counsellor Bob Timmons.
Sixx writes, "He saved not only my life, but so many others. He single-handedly affected millions of people’s lives. I miss him dearly already.
"We spoke quite a bit in the last year. One of the kindest things I’ve heard in my life was when he told me he was proud of me for giving back through (autobiography) The Heroin Diaries, and for staying sober during hard times.
"To hear that from such a great man warmed my heart and I felt like what it must have felt like if my own father had given me such praise.
"You helped us all see how to live free from addiction, and I can’t say it loud enough, THANK YOU… THANK YOU… Bob, I know you’re watching, and we all hope to do you proud. Thank you for sharing your life with us." Timmons died at the end of last week (ends07Mar08).

Children of famous musicians including BOBBY BROWN, MC HAMMER and OLIVIA NEWTON JOHN are set to compete in a new reality talent show to discover the next American singing sensation.
Music channel MTV has gathered Landon Brown, A’keiba Burrell-Hammer and Newton John’s daughter Chloe Rose Lattanzi to battle it out on new TV programme entitled Rock The Cradle, which is due to premiere in the U.S. on 3 April (08).
The show - which will see the pop wannabes compete every week in their bid for fame - will be judged by a host of celebrities and music industry bosses.

TORI SPELLING is repairing her relationship with her estranged mother - through their mutual love of the star’s young son LIAM.
The former Beverly Hills 90210 star has enjoyed a strained relationship with mum Candy - which she blames on the attention her father Aaron heaped on her after her birth.
She says, "My mother was his world. Then I was born and then I was his world.
That’s a hard thing for a mother to adjust to." But things are gradually improving, with the help of 11-month-old Liam.
She explains, "She (Candy) is developing a relationship with Liam, and that’s the most important thing to me.
"It has bonded us in a way that can’t be broken. I understand her better because I am a mom as well." Spelling is currently expecting her second child with husband Dean McDermott.
