Producers working on HEATH LEDGER’s final film have vowed not to alter the tragic star’s last performance, even though the actor never got the chance to complete the project before his untimely death.
Work on The Imaginarium Of Doctor Parnassus resumed on Monday (10Mar08) after the Brokeback Mountain star’s death halted filming on the project earlier this year (08).
In his honour, Hollywood superstars Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell and Jude Law have signed up to feature in the film, which is due for release next year (09).
However, the film’s director Terry Gilliam and its producers have promised to preserve every detail of Ledger’s final performance, and that the hiring of the three new stars will not affect his work.
A statement released by the movie’s producers reads, "Since the format of the story allows for the preservation of his entire performance, at no point will Heath’s work be modified or altered through the use of digital technology.
"Each of the parts played by Johnny, Colin and Jude is representative of the many aspects of the character that Heath was playing." Gilliam adds, "I am delighted that Heath’s brilliant performance can be shared with the world.
"We are looking forward to finishing the movie and, through the film, with a modicum of humility, being able to touch people’s hearts and souls as Heath was able to do." Ledger had just finished shooting scenes for the fantasy movie in London just days before he was found dead in his New York apartment in January (08).
Toxicology results released last month (Feb08) revealed Ledger was killed by an accidental overdose of prescribed medications.

BRITNEY SPEARS and KEVIN FEDERLINE’s lawyers are battling in court over the former dancer’s legal fees from their bitter custody battle.
Spears’ new lawyer Stacy Phillips is angry Federline’s representative and the pop star’s former legal firm Trope & Trope have racked up bills of $900,000 (£450,00) in just four months - fees Spears has been ordered to pay herself.
Phillips claims Federline’s attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan’s fees are excessive - and that Federline can afford to pay his fees himself.
She also accuses Federline of failing to separate business and personal expenses, and claims his ex-girlfriend and mother of his other two children, Shar Jackson, has access to his business credit card which she uses for personal purposes.
Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Scott Gordon, who is presiding over the case, plans to take time to consider the issue of fees.

GEORGE CLOONEY has dismissed reports he is to wed his girlfriend SARAH LARSON.
The Ocean’s Eleven star and former waitress Larson were alleged to be planning a summer (08) wedding at Clooney’s villa in Lake Como, Italy.
A restaurant worker in Laglio, near Lake Como, fuelled rumours on Monday (10Mar08) when he told the media: "They haven’t made any announcement yet, but there are people in this town who know more than me. They say the couple are already engaged." Clooney and Larson will celebrate their one-year anniversary this June (08), but it appears the 46-year-old isn’t quite ready to give up his bachelor status just yet.
In a statement released to WENN on Monday, he says, "These reports are not true." His representative Stan Rosenfield adds, "(There’s) no truth to any element of this story." The Hollywood heartthrob vowed never to walk down the aisle again after his four-year marriage to actress Talia Balsam ended in divorce in 1993, and he recently admitted he is still against the idea of another union.
He said: "I said those things in 1993 and it has kind of stuck with me ever since. The truth is that it’s not a consideration."

Legendary actor SIR IAN McKELLEN is poised to revive his role as wizard GANDALF in the movie adaptations of J.R.R. TOLKIEN’s novel THE HOBBIT - insisting he’s the obvious candidate for the job.
McKellen, who has appeared as Gandalf in all three Lord Of The Rings films, has made no secret of his desire to land the part - even though Peter Jackson will not be directing.
Speaking exclusively to WENN, the veteran actor admitted he could not think of anyone better to play the role than himself.
He said, "I certainly hope it’s true - have you got anybody else who you think should be doing it?" McKellen isn’t the only actor praying for a phone call to confirm his involvement in the Lord Of The Rings prequels - Elijah Wood is also desperate to revive his role as Frodo Baggins.

MICHELLE WILLIAMS reveals how he daughter MATILDA helped her cope with her split with HEATH LEDGER, in the last interview she gave before his death in January (08).
The pair split in September 2007, and Williams told Vogue magazine how she leaned on Matilda, now two, in the aftermath of the break-up.
She said, "Going through a breakup is a really humanising experience. It just strips you to your core. You’re nothing but feeling, nothing but emotion.
There’s no difference between my breakup and anyone else’s, so to have to pretend that you’re happy and sunny… "I really only look back on it with love, because, oh God, because of my daughter. I can’t regret a single second of it because of this little hell-raising cherub sleeping in the room next to me. I hate to sound Pollyanna-ish about it, but that part is true. Drama CONTINENTAL: UN FILM SANS FUSIL (a Film Without Guns) emerged the big winner at the Jutra Awards in Quebec, Canada on Sunday (09Mar08), after winning four prizes including the coveted prize for Best Picture.
The movie also took home awards for Best Screenplay, Best Director for Stephane Lafleur and Best Supporting Actor for Real Bosse.
It wasn’t the only quadruple-winner of the night - the Keira Knightley-starring period drama Silk claimed honours for technical skill, including Best Cinematography and Best Costume.
But the Jutra Awards proved to be less fruitful for comedy/drama Les 3 p’tits cochones (The 3 Little Pigs), which won just one of the 13 gongs it was nominated for. It was recognised for the Billet d’or (Golden ticket) trophy, which is handed to the most successful domestic film at the Quebec box office after scooping profits of $4.5 million (£2.25 million) in 2007.
Meanwhile, Roy Dupuis was named Best Actor for his role in Shake Hands With the Devil, and Best Actress went to Guylaine Tremblay for her part in Contre toute esperance.

Rapper BUN B is to release at least one more UGK album - despite the passing of his longtime rap collaborator PIMP C late last year (07).
Pimp C, real name Chad Butler, died in his sleep in a Los Angeles hotel on 13 December (07), aged 33. His death was ruled an accident - the result of a pre-existing condition he had of sleep apnoea, combined with an accidental overdose of prescription codeine.
And although his UGK partner is no longer around to share in the duo’s success, Bun B is keen to keep their group name alive with a follow-up to 2007’s Underground Kingz LP.
He tells Complex.com, "We’re still putting together this last UGK record too, because there’s a lot of music that we’ve already recorded for it. I think that album itself is going to be a little bit weird."

Rocker COURTNEY LOVE has slammed reports she is bipolar, insisting claims she is suffering from the disorder are "slander".
The former Hole singer is furious her erratic behaviour is constantly being referred to as a result of the alleged illness, although she does admit to being somewhat "eccentric" because of her tendency to speak her mind.
Writing on her MySpace blog, she says, "God, people are bats**t. And im (sic) not the one who is. and i hear now i am "Bi Polar" uhhhh…thats more nuts than I will ever be. Computer giant Apple Inc. has denied reports the BEATLES’ back catalogue will soon be made available on their download website iTunes.
Ex-Beatle Sir Paul McCartney was allegedly planning to release the Fab Four’s entire collection of songs and albums onto the music website in the coming months, to counter a hefty divorce payout to former wife Heather Mills.
The former glamour model - who represented herself in the divorce case last month (Feb08) - could reportedly walk away with $120 million (£60 million) of the singer’s estimated $1.65 billion (£825 million) personal fortune when a London judge delivers his settlement decision on 17 March.
The addition of such albums as Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, the White Album and Help! to iTunes was estimated to be worth around $400 million (£200 million) for McCartney if reports were true.
But a spokesperson for Apple Inc. has dismissed the claims, telling U.S.
publication Billboard, "This is not news nor is it a scoop."

R&B group DRU HILL delighted fans on Thursday (06Mar08) when they announced their reunion live on U.S. radio - only to call off their comeback just 10 minutes later.
The How Deep Is Your Love hitmakers made the bizarre appearance on WERQ FM in their native Baltimore, Maryland.
The band - with original members Sisqo, Jazz, Nokio and Woody - each introduced themselves before show host Marc Clarke asked Woody to explain how he felt about their reformation.
He said: "It feels great to have the brotherhood. I tell these guys, when they see me coming, they can’t be in their houseclothes, they can’t even really get comfortable, ’cause I’m always snapping pictures. …I’m just loving the brotherhood right now." But his positive attitude soon turned negative as he began to cast doubt on whether they should reunite after all: "But at the same time… I feel like since I left the first time I’ve just been called by God on an assignment and it’s something that I have to do. Honestly, I feel like at this time, y’all guys just got it.
"Y’all don’t need me to be around physically, so I feel like I’ma go do what God called me to do, which is minister and do my gospel thing. At the same time, I’m with y’all in spirit. I’m with y’all every step of the way." His turnaround shocked the other three members of the group and in video footage of the incident posted online, Sisqo can be seen angrily putting down his headphones and leaving the room, shouting, "Hell no, you could’ve told us this yesterday. When y’all ready to do this for real, holler at me!" Dru Hill originally disbanded in 2005 after being dropped from their record label Def Soul.

Hollywood star ROBERT DE NIRO has reportedly pulled out of forthcoming film NEW ORLEANS - only to be replaced by his HEAT co-star VAL KILMER.
De Niro was due to team up with rapper/actor 50 Cent in the Charles Winkler-directed movie, about a police officer who uncovers a trail of deceit and corruption in the police force as he searches for the killer of his former partner.
According to Kilmer’s official website, he will be taking on the role of "a burly rough but loyal cop. 50 is my partner…" It is not yet clear whether De Niro is still attached to the project, reports Moviehole.net.
New Orleans, also known as Microwave Park, would have been De Niro’s second movie with 50 Cent - the pair has just finished filming the upcoming crime drama Righteous Kill.

Irish thespian CIARAN HINDS is tired of reports suggesting he started his acting career at the back end of a pantomime horse - he was at the stage mare’s head.
The Munich star made his debut in a production of Cinderella at the Glasgow Citizen’s Theatre in Scotland - but he’s upset that so many people think he played a horse’s ass.
He says, "There’s a lot of lies out there. I was actually the front end and, in there, there’s dignity. If you’re at the back end you have to be bent over and you’ve got your head in somebody’s bum! "It’s become fact that I was the back end and it’s down there for posterity that I was the arse (ass) end of the horse, but I was the front end…
Obviously people would prefer that I was the back end for some reason!" Hinds admits one of his most embarrassing moments came as a result of the mix up.
He adds, "I was playing the theatre manager in The Phantom of The Opera and we’re sitting in the opera box where we were shooting, when the director, Joel Schumacher, announced to 330 extras, ‘We’ve just found out that you played the back end of a horse!’ "I’d really like for him to know the truth."

Comedienne KATHY GRIFFIN jetted from Los Angeles to New York at the weekend (09Mar08) to marry two die-hard fans.
Brian Anstey and Elka Shapiro asked the flame-haired funnywoman to officiate at their wedding, because they bonded over a mutual love of her comedy act.
And they were stunned when she agreed to be ordained and attend the Queens ceremony on Sunday.
Griffin, 47, says, "The request came in, and how could I say no?" After a 10 minute ceremony littered with expletives, Shapiro said, "Neither of us is affiliated with any particular religion, and the major factor in our relationship is the laughter. Kathy was fantastic and had us all in hysterics during the ceremony.
"We are so lucky that she agreed to marry us because it’s so unusual and something we’ll always remember."

DENNIS HOPPER’s teenage son is furious with Oscars host JON STEWART, after he mocked the actor’s drugs past during this year’s (08) ceremony.
During his monologue, Stewart joked the Easy Rider star "didn’t know" where he was - citing Hopper’s years of addiction for his alleged memory loss.
But Hopper’s guest at the bash, his 17-year-old son Henry, hated watching his father being teased.
The veteran actor says, "I think Jon’s terrific. I think it’s better to be noticed than not. My 17-year-old son was upset by it. He said, ‘Don’t they know you?’ He’s never experienced that with me since I’ve been sober for 24 years.

PATRICK SWAYZE has pulled out of his new movie FIRED UP! as he battles pancreatic cancer.
The Dirty Dancing star was last week (ends07Mar08) revealed to be suffering from the deadly disease and undergoing chemotherapy treatment.

Jamaican reggae star COCOA TEA is helping U.S. presidential hopeful BARACK OBAMA rally support for his White House campaign by releasing a new track in his honour.
Cocoa Tea - real name Calvin Scott - is urging Americans to "to unite as one" and vote for the Democratic frontrunner, labelling the inspirational politician a "trendsetter".
The song, simply entitled Barack Obama, is being released in the U.S. this week (begs10Mar08) by New York’s VP Records.
