EASY RIDER HOPPER TAKES TO THE ROAD
Actor DENNIS HOPPER and some star-studded pals are revving up ahead of an epic motorcycle journey from the USA to Mexico.
Hopper and other members of the Guggenheim Motorcycle club take off from San Diego, California on Monday (10Mar08), heading for La Paz on the coast of Baja California, more than 700 miles (1,127 kilometres) to the south.
The Easy Rider star will be joined by Guggenheim Museum head Thomas Krens and actor pals Laurence Fishburne and Jeremy Irons and modelling icon Lauren Hutton.
Hopper says, "We’re going on Monday for six days, riding all the way from San Diego to La Paz.
"We’re the founding Vice Presidents of this club. We all ride BMWs. They are so comfortable you can fall asleep on them." The bike ride is sure to bring back painful memories for Hutton - she fell from her motorcycle during a Guggenheim trip in October 2000, and was treated in hospital for multiple leg fractures and cuts and bruises.
