MONK BLASTS RUMOURS MADDEN LEFT HER FOR HILTON
Australian model SOPHIE MONK has slammed rumours GOOD CHARLOTTE rocker BENJI MADDEN broke off their engagement in order to date PARIS HILTON.
The former couple announced their "amicable" split last month (Feb08) after weeks of speculation and Madden has since started romancing socialite Hilton.
But Monk insists she is still on good terms with her ex-fiance - stating she is glad Madden has moved on.
In a statement addressing the erroneous rumours, she says, "Let me make this as plain as possible, Benji did not leave me for Paris Hilton. Benji and I did not break up badly or anything like that.
"We both decided as adults our relationship had run its course and decided to move on. I feel no animosity toward Benji and Paris at all and am very happy with life at the moment." The Monk and Madden romance began 18 months ago after they met on the set of a Good Charlotte video; the rocker proposed to the model last year (07).
