A vast collection of pop memorabilia including JOHN LENNON’s coat, SUPERMAN’s red cape and INDIANA JONES’ whip is to go under the hammer in Las Vegas next month (Mar08).
The famous items are owned by American property developer Anthony Pugliese and are valued at $5 million (£2.5 million).
The jacket Lennon wore in his Imagine music video from 1971 is expected to fetch more than $50,000 (£25,000), while the Superman costume worn by Christopher Reeve in the franchise’s first two movies has an estimated price range of $60,000 (£30,000) to $90,000 (£45,000).
Meanwhile, the bullwhip used by Harrison Ford in the Indiana Jones films is expected to sell for between $50,000 (£25,000) to $60,000 (£30,000).
Other items in the auction include Dame Elizabeth Taylor’s Egyptian-style wig worn for her 1963 movie Cleopatra and the wedding dress Madonna donned for her Like A Virgin promo.
The collection will be auctioned off at the Palms Resort And Casino on 15 and 16 March (08).
