HARRISON FORD and CALISTA FLOCKHART were escorted away from SIR ELTON JOHN’s post-Oscars party in the back of a police car.
The Hollywood couple was forced to ask for a little assistance from Los Angeles’ finest when the chauffeur-driven car they arrived at the party in failed to show up for the journey home.
A party guest tells website PlanetGossip.Eonline.com, "They were standing outside waiting for their car to pick them up. They called and called and called the car, but the driver never showed up." So the police stepped in to offer the pair a lift home.
The party insider adds, "Harrison and Calista accepted and were taken home in the back of a squad car." A police representative reveals the couple was driven less than a mile to the Sunset Tower hotel to visit friends.

KEVIN FEDERLINE’s attorney has paid tribute to BRITNEY SPEARS’ dad JAMIE, stating his involvement in his daughter’s life is speeding up her efforts to spend time with her kids.
Despite his efforts to strip visitation and custody rights from the pop star at the beginning of the year (08), Mark Vincent Kaplan insists he’s very keen to reunite Spears with her two young sons.
And he was instrumental is allowing Spears to visit with her boys for the first time in almost two months on Saturday (23Feb08) - and again on Monday (25Feb08).
Now he hopes Jamie Spears’ positive influence in his daughter’s life will lead to the singer’s visitation rights being restored.
Kaplan says, "It looks to be more of stable setting over there (at Britney’s home). Jamie Spears is obviously a positive influence.
"Assuming there are no unforeseen, unanticipated events not consistent with increased time, the (visits will) ramp up gradually but steadily to some other point. What that point is, I don’t know.
"I think both sides (in the custody battle) wanted that to occur as soon as possible." In addition, Kaplan tells U.S. news show Extra, "The kids are doing fine."

JESSICA SIMPSON, HULK HOGAN and KISS frontman PAUL STANLEY will become unlikely neighbours when work on their luxury penthouse suites at the new Palms Place in Las Vegas is complete.
The trio are among the first celebrities to buy property in the new Sin City high-rise development.
Hogan and Stanley’s penthouses both come with breathtaking 180 degree views of Las Vegas.
The penthouse suites will be "completed and delivered furnished" by 31 May (08), according to WENN Las Vegas insider Michael Politz.

BRAD PITT has been credited with pulling in the stars for a WE ARE THE WORLD-type comedy recording session ‘outing’ BEN AFFLECK and U.S. funnyman JIMMY KIMMEL as gay lovers.
HARRISON FORD, DON CHEADLE, CAMERON DIAZ and ROBIN WILLIAMS were among the celebrities who agreed to sing for the I’m F**king Ben Affleck video, which aired on Kimmel’s post-Oscars show on Sunday night (24Feb08).
Kimmel immediately turned to Affleck after his girlfriend, comedienne Sarah Silverman, filmed the infamous I’m F**king Matt Damon video with The Bourne Supremacy star for Kimmel’s recent fifth anniversary show.
But Kimmel had no idea it would be so easy to book other stars to take part in his own comedy video.
Ford reportedly came on board because he was a fan of the Silverman/Damon skit, but stars started tumbling when Pitt agreed to play a FedEx delivery guy in the skit.
Jimmy Kimmel Live spokesman Scott Igoe tells Billboard.com that Pitt’s involvement prompted other stars to come forward and, within 24 hours, he had booked Good Charlotte stars Joel and Benji, Pete Wentz and Macy Gray.
That was followed by calls from Cheadle, Williams, Diaz, Huey Lewis, Meat Loaf and Josh Groban, among others.
The stars met and filmed their comedy recording session at Henson Studios in Hollywood earlier this month (Feb08).
And Igoe admits many stars, like Ashlee Simpson, Sir Paul McCartney and country couple Faith Hill and Tim McGraw, were devastated when they realised they wouldn’t be able to be a part of the Oscar-night TV fun.
Igoe says, "Half the emails I’ve gotten the day after have been from publicists so disappointed that their clients weren’t in it (video)."

Daredevil DANNY WAY is planning another Las Vegas stunt, which involves skating down the outside of the Luxor hotel and casino and leaping over the Sphinx in front of the entrance.
The skateboarding icon, who jumped the Great Wall of China in 2005, and stunt experts are developing a ramp that will allow Way to shoot down the side of the pyramid-shaped Luxor and jump the sphinx.
As well as jumping the Great Wall, Way is the only skateboarder to drop out of a helicopter onto a ramp, and, in 2003, he broke two world records in one run - longest distance jumped (75 feet/22.86 meters) and height out of a ramp (23.5 feet/7.16 meters), according to TheVegasEye.com.

THE PRODUCERS star NATHAN LANE is to star in a Broadway musical version of STEVEN SPIELBERG’s hit movie CATCH ME IF YOU CAN.
The Tony Award-winning actor will play police inspector Carl Hanratty played by Tom Hanks in the 2002 movie.
Hanks’ character spent the film chasing real-life con artist Frank Abagnale Jr, who was portrayed on screen by Leonardo DiCaprio.
Lane reveals, "I’m doing a workshop for a new musical by the team who brought you Hairspray - Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman. It’s based on the book and film Catch Me If You Can. I play the Tom Hanks part.
"It’s a wonderful piece of material. We’ve been developing it for a few years. Hopefully it will come to fruition."

LATEST: Academy Awards producer GIL CATES has personally apologised for omitting WHOOPI GOLDBERG from a Oscars montage of magical moments that aired during the telecast of Sunday’s (24Feb08) ceremony.
The actress, who has twice hosted the Oscars and is a previous Best Supporting Actress winner, fought back tears as she spoke of her disappointment during her morning TV show The View on Monday (25Feb08).
And her upset has prompted producer Gil Cates to say sorry.
He tells America’s People magazine, "No harm was intended, and I feel very, very badly that she was left out. I’m going to call her and tell her that… It was an absolute oversight."

MOTLEY CRUE’s former producer has lashed out at rocker NIKKI SIXX, calling his explosive new book "stunningly inaccurate".
Tom Werman is far from impressed with the Crue bass player’s bestseller, Heroin Diaries: A Year in the Life of a Shattered Rock Star, and claims Sixx is "totally deluded" in a letter to the New York Times.
And Werman has applauded rock journalist Alan Light’s review of the book, agreeing with his suggestion that Sixx is "bratty and self-destructive".
The revered producer says, "That’s on the money, but having been there and having read the book, I would go with ‘totally deluded’ or perhaps ’stunningly inaccurate.’" Werman is particularly upset by Sixx’s book claims that the producer did very little work and left the bassist to take charge of recording sessions for hit albums Theatre of Pain and Shout At The Devil.
He adds, "As the producer of three Motley Crue albums over a four-year period, I found Sixx’s allegation that in the recording studio he did ‘all the work’ with Vince Neil’s vocals while I chatted idly on the phone not only humorous but pure fiction.
"If this distortion of reality is the result of Sixx’s past heroin habit, then his diary is truly nothing more than a pipe dream, and the events to which this book refers may simply be the needle-induced fantasies of an attention-starved junkie."

R&B stars RIHANNA and CHRIS BROWN have fuelled reports they are secretly dating, after they were snapped frolicking together on vacation in Jamaica.
The pair, who have been linked for months, spent last weekend (23/24Feb08) at a romantic retreat on the Caribbean island.
They both jetted to Jamaica, from Rihanna’s native Barbados, so the Umbrella star could perform at the Smile Jamaica Africa Unite Bob Marley concert in St.

JANET JACKSON has embarked on a brutal training regime to ensure she is in top shape for her forthcoming comeback tour.

MADONNA has asked JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE to honour her when she’s inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame next month (10Mar08).
Each inductee is asked to invite a fellow celebrity or a family member to the New York gala to pay tribute to the artist’s work - and Madonna felt her most recent collaborator, Timberlake, would be the perfect choice, according to U.S.
magazine In Touch Weekly.
This year’s induction ceremony will take place at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City on 10 March (08).
Joining Madonna will be Leonard Cohen, The Dave Clark Five, John Mellencamp and The Ventures, who will make up the class of 2008.

JUMPER has continued its reign atop the U.K. box office chart, after SYLVESTER STALLONE’s RAMBO failed to knock the sci-fi blockbuster off the number one spot.
The Hayden Christensen-starring Jumper leads the box office for the second week running with takings of $3.02 million (£1.51 million), closely followed by Jack Black comedy Be Kind Rewind, which debuts at number two with $2.76 million (£1.38 million).
Rambo’s disappointing opening weekend takings of $2.6 million (£1.3 million) means the action film comes in at third place, with teen pregnancy comedy Juno at number four and National Treasure: Book of Secrets at number five.
It is thought British cinema chain Odeon’s ban on screening Rambo, owing to undisclosed "commercial reasons", has considerably affected the film’s positioning.

Actress PENELOPE CRUZ shocked the cast and crew of Italian movie DON’T MOVE after making herself look "very ugly" for the film.
The Spanish beauty’s co-stars avoided contact with her after she put on thick make-up and a set of false teeth to play an unattractive, destitute woman in the 2004 drama.
She says, "In the Italian movie I had to be very ugly. I didn’t shave my legs for two months. "People on the set were embarrassed to look at me. I was walking around Rome with bad hair and a moustache. I looked scary."

Hollywood star ERIC BANA is baffled by internet rumours he is a classically trained actor - because he’s never had a lesson in his life.
The Australian star of Troy and new movie The Other Boleyn Girl started out as a stand-up comedian and fell into acting by accident.
He says, "It says online I went to this really prestigious acting college. It couldn’t be further from the truth.
"I have never had an acting lesson.

Director SIR RIDLEY SCOTT is making a new movie about late U.S. president RONALD REAGAN’s dealings with former Soviet leader MIKHAIL GORBACHEV.
The as-yet-untitled film will reportedly focus on the pair’s famous 1986 summit conference that took place in Reykjavik, Iceland.
Scott tells the U.S. trade journal the Hollywood Reporter, "I want to show who they were and why they did what they did.
"Their actions helped shape history, paving the way for the end of the Cold War." And although the American Gangster director has yet to begin casting, he insists "physical resemblance is secondary".
He adds, "It’s less about visible appearance, more about the acting. (But) you have to acknowledge the physicality. Reagan was tall and elegant while Gorbachev was stocky, like a front row rugby player. In some ways, Gorbachev is easier to cast. Reagan is more colourful." Ronald Reagan, the 40th American president, died in 2004 following a decade-long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Veteran rocker STEVE WINWOOD is set to release a new LP - his first studio album in five years.
The 59-year-old Brit is performing three highly-anticipated concerts with his former Blind Faith bandmate Eric Clapton in New York this week (begs25Feb08), and he’s recruited the Layla star to play guitar on the disc’s first single Dirty City.
Nine Lives, Winwood’s first recording with Columbia Records, is slated for release later this spring (08). Winwood will then tour in the summer (08) as an opening act for Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers.
