LATEST: STING has urged British fans of THE POLICE to get tickets for the Hard Rock Calling concert in London in June (08) - because the trio will never return to the U.K.
The rocker fears fans are expecting the reunited band to extend their final dates, but Sting insists the Hyde Park concert on 29 June (08) will be the last time The Police play in Britain.
He insists the show will have special meaning for him, even if the band’s 15-month reunion tour won’t officially end until the trio hits Wantagh, New York on 4 August.
He says, "England is where we began our career, in London. It has a special place in my heart. I’m English." Meanwhile, the group has been forced to cancel a 11 June (08) concert in Oslo, Norway, due to scheduling difficulties.

JOSH BROLIN handed his NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN co-stars copies of a handmade bound journal he wrote while shooting the movie when the film wrapped.
The actor illustrated his diaries with a sketch of directors Joel and Ethan Coen, carrying rifles.
And Brolin is particularly proud of one journal entry, in which he describes one of the caterers on the set of the film.
It reads, "She works harder than anyone I’ve ever seen. She’s carrying around these great breasts… She flies around the set with those two atom bombs, always with a look of satisfaction."

THE CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON has died, aged 79.
Tahitian ex-Marine Ben Chapman donned the mask and costume for the cult 1954 3-D movie.
Chapman, who was a contracted actor at Universal in the early 1950s, went on to become a successful realtor in Honolulu, Hawaii.

WHOOPI GOLDBERG held back tears as she spoke of her disappointment at not being part of a past Oscars glory tribute on her daily talk show THE VIEW on Monday (25Feb08).

JUNO star ALLISON JANNEY was left red faced at the Film Independent Spirit Awards on Saturday (23Feb08) when she realised her onscreen stepdaughter was accepting her Best Actress prize while she was shopping for gifts backstage.

Teen star JAMIE LYNN SPEARS has found something to smile about after her pregnancy controversy - she has picked up a General Educational Development diploma with high marks for reading comprehension.
The 16-year-old actress sister of Britney Spears is now considering her college options, according to reports.
A source tells People.com the Zoey 101 star is looking to take a college entrance test, telling the site, "She’s not wasting any time. People don’t know her. When she gets something in her head, she’ll make it happen. Everybody is so supportive of her." The Oscar producer DARRYL F. ZANUCK won in 1938 is to be auctioned off online.
The first Irving Thalberg Memorial Award ever presented, Zanuck’s statuette is expected to fetch upwards of $150,000 (GBP75,000) when it goes under the hammer at a Profiles in History auction on eBay.com on 27 and 28 March (08).
Profiles in History spokesman Marc Kruskol says, "Though the Oscar statuettes are more widely known, perhaps no other Academy Award is as important as this one - the very first Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award ever presented.
"It honours the contributions of both Thalberg and Darryl F. Zanuck to the art of film and it stands as a wonderful association between these two giants of Hollywood motion pictures." Thalberg, a brilliant MGM executive known as the "boy Wonder" died tragically at the age of 37, two years before the award named after him was awarded to Zanuck.
To this day, the Thalberg Memorial Award is the rarest and most prestigious honour bestowed by the Academy. It is only given an average of once every other year.
There have only been 36 recipients, and the accolade has not been bestowed on anyone since 2000, when Dino De Laurentiis was honoured.

A husky-voiced Combs was still wearing the Dolce & Gabbana tuxedo he wore to Prince’s party for his interview with hosts Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa on Monday morning (25Feb08).
And he confessed, "I was at Prince’s house, on the dancefloor, and I got a call from the producer saying I was late for the show. Whoever I was dancing with is still there."

Synth-pop icon GARY NUMAN discovered he suffers from mild autism while taking a series of Internet tests.
Though he has not officially been diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome, the Cars hitmaker is confident that’s the cause of his crippling social disorder.
Numan, real name Gary Webb, tells Britain’s Mojo magazine, "When I was a kid, before there were proper diagnostic criteria for it, it was suggested that I might be suffering.
"I did a brilliant series of tests online from a university in America, and I was deeply into the Asperger’s spectrum on there." Numan reveals he’s fine in one-on-one interview situations because it’s a controlled question-and-answer session, but he’s very uncomfortable in social situations with strangers.
He adds, "Small talk’s the problem. If we met in a bar, or after a show, there’s a good chance I’d be stand-offish, aloof, miserable, or awkward, because I don’t know what to say. I’m rubbish.
"My interactions are semi-artificial, in that I know I’m not allowed to do this or that, because it would be considered rude or improper."
