LATEST: Pop star PINK has urged her fans to go easy on estranged husband CAREY HART, after announcing the couple had split on Tuesday (19Feb08).
The Stupid Girls singer insists she still loves motocross racer Hart, who she wed in January 2006, very much, and that the sportsman remains her best friend.
In a posting on her website, Pink writes, "I wanted to reach out personally to all my fans/friends out there in the world.
"First and foremost, thank you for all of your support and love, it means a lot to me right now. The most important thing for you all to know is that Carey and I love each other so so much.
"This break-up is not about cheating, anger or fighting. I know it sounds like cliche bulls**t, but we are best friends, and we will continue to be… He is a good man, so please support him as well."

JACK JOHNSON has scored a second week at the top of the U.S. albums chart just managing to steal the number one spot from a surging AMY WINEHOUSE.
The British soul singer’s success at the Grammy Awards led to an increase in sales of her 2006 album Back To Black, which jumped from number 24 to a new chart high at two.
But 180,000 sales of Jackson’s Sleep Through The Static was enough to keep the surf-rocker on top.
Album Of The Year Grammy winner Herbie Hancock’s River: The Joni Letters also storms up the chart from 159 to five, with 54,000 sales.
Grammy performer Alicia Keys stays put at three with As I Am and the 2008 Grammy Nominees compilation climbs up a spot from five to four.
The week’s highest new entry belongs to Simple Plan whose self-titled new album debuts at 14.
Michael Jackson’s Thriller reissue was ineligible for a Billboard 200 place as it’s considered a catalogue release, but the 25th anniversary edition debuts at number one on the Top Pop Catalog Albums countdown with opening week sales of 166,000.

Former DESTINY’S CHILD star KELLY ROWLAND has sparked reports she has had a boob job after she was recently spotted filling the bikini she wore loosely on vacation last summer (07).
Snappers caught the now-busty singer on the beach in Miami, Florida earlier this month (Feb08), wearing the same purple bikini that made her look flat-chested last August.

SHERYL CROW has launched a sarcastic attack on the world’s rehabbing celebrities by suggesting she needs to check into a treatment clinic to boost her career.
The singer/songwriter, who has battled depression for years, joked about recording a duet with troubled British singer Amy Winehouse during a show at London’s Scala venue on 19 February (08) - before poking fun at stars in rehab.
Crow told fans, "I want to collaborate with Amy because she’s really hot and cool right now. I know one song, Rehab, was very popular, particularly because a lot of young people are in rehab.
"In fact, I’m thinking about going. It looks like loads of fun and I know my career will benefit from it." Winehouse is currently undergoing counselling at a rehab clinic in London.

JENNIFER LOPEZ has reportedly checked into North Shore University Hospital in Long Island, New York as she prepares to give birth to twins.
The news is the latest in a string of Lopez baby alerts, but sources close to the singer/actress and her husband Marc Anthony insist this time it’s for real.
Lopez has reportedly been holding a private room, which has "been sitting empty for two weeks", a source tells gossip website and New York newspaper column Page Six.
A patient at the hospital told the site she overheard excited staff members exclaiming, "J. Lo is here," early on Wednesday (20Feb08).
The couple went public with the baby news during a concert in Miami, Florida late last year (07). Lopez’ father confirmed his daughter was expecting twins last month (Jan08).

DENNIS QUAID used the weekend he spent golfing with U.S. President BILL CLINTON as inspiration for his role as a secret service agent in new movie VANTAGE POINT.
Quaid and his then-wife Meg Ryan joined Clinton for a short stay at The White House in 1999, and the actor was amazed by how the secret service launched into action when he joined the President for a round of golf.
He says, "It was a slow news weekend and Hillary (Clinton) was out of town and we played golf.
"We went in the presidential motorcade to play golf. It’s amazing - you go outside The White House and you get in the car and you never stop. We just had a couple of Subway sandwiches in the back. We got to the golf course and they closed down the golf course (to other members).
"That’s where I got my first eye to the secret service, which turned out to be research for this role…
"Nothing happens when a president goes some place that’s impromptu. It’s been chartered out."

British actress SAFFRON BURROWS was so frightened by violent turbulence on a plane circling New York recently, she held a stranger’s hand for nearly an hour.
The Troy star was flying from Los Angeles to Manhattan for an appearance on U.S. TV’s The Late Show With David Letterman when bad weather struck.
So the terrified 35-year-old grabbed the hand of the man sitting in the seat next to her - without realising his family was across the aisle.
She explained to Letterman: "The first four hours (of the flight) were good, I watched films and read and was entirely silent. I didn’t speak to the lovely guy next to me until the turbulence started (while we were) circling over New York.
"I grabbed this gentleman’s hand and said, ‘I’m afraid I’m going to have to hold your hand. I need some support.’ "About half an hour went by, during which time he had asked me about my life and I him. He was a lovely man called Jerry. We held hands and our palms even got sweaty.
"He then reveals that across the aisle is his son and his ex-wife. I had literally been clinging to his hand for 45 minutes by now. I even said, ‘If it gets any worse I’m going to have to hold on to you.’ "The family were lovely. I met the family and it was all fine."

Actor LIONEL MARK SMITH has died following a battle with cancer. He was 62.
Smith, who is best known for appearing in seven of playwright/director David Mamet’s films including Homicide, State And Main and Oleanna, passed away at his home in Inglewood, California on 13 February (08).
He also had roles in Paul Thomas Anderson’s Magnolia and Bob Rafelson’s cult 1981 movie The Postman Always Rings twice, starring Jack Nicholson.
Smith also appeared in numerous TV shows including Hill Street Blues, NYPD Blue and L.A. Law.
Born in Chicago, Illinois in 1946, Smith later revealed his father was a heroin dealer and his mother died of alcoholism.
Following a stint in the U.S. Army, he met Mamet while pursuing a stage career in Chicago.
Smith’s last film role was in 2007’s Stuck.

LOST star MATTHEW FOX has joined castmates desperate to leave paradise because he’s sick of Hawaii.
After show love interest Evangeline Lilly confessed she was allergic to so many things on the series’ Oahu set during a recent appearance on America’s The Late Show With David Letterman, Fox admits he no longer likes living there while filming.
He says, "I’ve been living in Hawaii for three-and-a-half years now and it’s not really paradise anymore. Throwing snowballs on a mountain top is now my idea of paradise. I enjoy getting off the island.
"It’s a beautiful place and my kids are happy there and it’s been a good place for us to be for the past three years… but it’s not a place we’re gonna stay after Lost is finished." The only thing Fox is grateful for as a Hawaiian resident is the fact he isn’t bothered by the paparazzi who stalk his celebrity pals in Hollywood.
He adds, "One thing that was beneficial in Hawaii was I didn’t get the whole paparazzi thing in my daily life and photographs of my kids. If it happened it would be very rare.
"There’s not a lot of paparazzi who want to do the 2,500 mile trek into the South Pacific to get a picture of me walking on the beach.
"I think if I was living in Los Angeles it would be more difficult for me."

Police in China have arrested 10 people on charges of copying and distributing naked photos of Hong Kong actor EDISON CHAN with a series of singers and actresses.
The suspects were picked up in the southern city of Shenzen.
The explicit pictures, which were reportedly stored on Infernal Affairs star Chan’s computer, were recently stolen and leaked on popular Chinese internet search engine Baidu.
Among those affected by the scandal is clean-cut Hong Kong pop star Gillian Chong, who last week (ends15Feb08) apologised for photos showing her and Chen in bed together.
Pornography is illegal in China, where authorities also monitor the web.

LATEST: The Chinese state-run media has criticised STEVEN SPIELBERG as "naive" and "unreasonable" after the filmmaker quit as artistic director to the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.
The Oscar winner announced his decision not to take part in the upcoming Games on 12 February (08), accusing China of not doing enough to help end the genocide in the war-torn Darfur region of Sudan.
On 14 February (08), the Chinese government issued an official response, expressing "regret" at Spielberg’s move.
However, the state-run media hasn’t been nearly so kind to the Jaws director, and Wednesday’s (20Feb08) overseas edition of People’s Daily, the Communist Party’s official newspaper, launched a thinly-veiled attack on the 61-year-old.
Its editorial read: "A certain Western director was very naive and made an unreasonable move toward the issue of the Beijing Olympics. This is perhaps because of his unique Hollywood characteristics.
"(He) is not qualified to blame China because he knows nothing about the great efforts the Chinese government has made on Darfur.
"This renowned film director is famous for his science-fiction. But now it seems he lives in a world of science-fiction and he can’t distinguish a dream from reality."

Rap mogul SEAN ‘DIDDY’ COMBS was driven to become a successful businessman to avoid the same fate as his father, who was murdered when he was a child.
Combs was just three years old when his dad Melvin, an associate of drug kingpin Frank Lucas, was shot dead in his car in 1972.
And Combs, who now runs hip-hop, fashion and fragrance empires, admits the tragic end to his father’s life proved instrumental in shaping his desire to succeed.
He says, "The greatest thing about the American dream is to be an American businessman, to take care of your family and make something happen.
"This is way more parallel to my life. I grew up on 145th Street and Lenox Avenue (in Harlem). I was afraid of getting hurt in the streets. My father was murdered when I was three. He was a street hustler.
