GREAT WHITE FIRE SURVIVORS MARK FIFTH ANNIVERSARY OF BLAZE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:23 pm

Survivors of what has become known as the GREAT WHITE fire joined relatives of the 100 people killed in the deadly 2003 nightclub blaze on Sunday (17Feb08) to mark the fifth anniversary of the tragedy.
Rock fans and a Great White band member were killed when an ill-advised pyrotechnics show during Great White’s set turned Rhode Island club The Station into a fireball.
The anniversary was marked by a sombre service at the fire site, where survivors and relatives were given a first look at design plans for a proposed permanent memorial.
During the service, the names of the deceased were read out.
As well as the 100 left dead in the blaze, 200 more were injured as they attempted to escape the flames when the fire broke out on 20 February 2003.
