JOHNSON SURFS TO ALBUM CHART DOUBLE
Surfer-turned-rocker JACK JOHNSON has scored a Trans-Atlantic double after debuting his latest release at the top of the U.S. album charts.
Johnson’s Sleep Through The Static raced to number one in Britain on Sunday (10Feb08) and now it has toppled As I Am by Alicia Keys to take over at the top of the Billboard 200.
It’s Johnson’s second chart-topper, and his biggest sales week ever - he sold a whopping 375,000 copies in the U.S. in his journey to number one.
He has also scored the biggest sales week for download album, netting 139,000 sales online.
Meanwhile, Sheryl Crow debuts Detours at number two, Alicia Keys drops to three and Lenny Kravitz returns to the Billboard 200 countdown at four with his new album It Is Time For A Love Revolution.
