SPEARS’ EX: ‘BRITNEY DOESN’T WANT THE KIDS BACK’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:27 pm

BRITNEY SPEARS has given up fighting for her kids, according to the troubled pop star’s first husband JASON ALEXANDER.
The Louisiana local, who was married to Spears for just 55 hours, has spoken out about his former wife’s custody battle with second ex-husband Kevin Federline.
He tells America’s In Touch Weekly magazine that Spears accepts she’s no model mum and she doesn’t want her sons Sean Preston and Jayden James back.
Alexander says, "She wants to see them (kids), but she doesn’t want to be a full-time mom. She said it doesn’t matter if she doesn’t get them back full-time, and that she can always have other kids later on." Spears lost the right to visit her sons last month (Jan08) after a stand-off with police and paramedics at the end of a visitation term.
Before that she was stripped of physical custody after failing to adhere to court-ordered testing.
Alexander reveals he and his ex have been speaking since Christmas (07): "I got a phone call, a voice mail, that said, ‘Hey! It’s me. I know we haven’t spoken in a while.’ It was Britney. She said she’d call me back, and we’ve been speaking ever since." The ex-husband insists Spears "misses" her kids, but adds, "I don’t think she should have full custody because she needs to focus on her."

TURNER APOLOGISES TO CAGE OVER BOOK CLAIMS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:27 pm

LATEST: KATHLEEN TURNER has apologised to NICOLAS CAGE for "causing distress" by accusing the actor of drink-driving and theft in her new autobiography.
Cage began libel proceedings against his Peggy Sue Got Married co-star in London’s High Court last week (08Feb08) after claiming her new book Send Yourself Roses was full of false claims about him.
In the book, Turner alleges Cage went to great lengths to disobey his director uncle Francis Ford Coppola on the set of their 1986 movie, adding he found himself in trouble with police while filming.
But the 53-year-old actress insists she had no intention for the contents of her book to upset Cage, or anybody else, and is deeply sorry for any hurt caused.
She says, "I guess what I can say is I’m truly sorry if I caused distress or harm, because one thing is for sure - I never, ever intended to do that.
"This is what I remember, these are my thoughts and (they were) certainly not intended to damage anyone else."

Actress KATHLEEN TURNER was proud to bare all onstage in her late 40s - because she inspired middle-aged women to love their bodies.
Turner infamously stripped off to play seductress Mrs. Robinson in London and New York productions of The Graduate - and the star was surprised to receive letters from women thanking her for giving them the courage to flaunt their own figures.
Turner says, "When I did it (The Graduate) on Broadway, I was 48. Certainly, in this country (U.S.), that’s considered quite over the hill and past any sexual attraction.
"But I got this wonderful note from a woman saying that she had not undressed in front of her husband in 10 years and she was going to do it tonight."

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:21 pm

FARRAH FAWCETT and RYAN O’NEAL’s son REDMOND has been arrested on drugs charges, just months after completing a spell in rehab.
The 23-year-old’s vehicle was pulled over by police in California at 3am on 26 January (08) after the cops spotted him driving erratically. A search of his car allegedly unearthed drug paraphernalia.
A $10,000 (£5,000) bond was posted and Redmond was released, but he faces a custodial sentence because of previous drug charges stemming from an arrest three years ago.
In 2005, troubled Redmond, who has checked into rehab facilities 12 times in 10 years, escaped a jail sentence after pleading guilty to possession of methamphetamine and cocaine.
A source tells the National Enquirer, "Farrah has always dreaded getting that phone call: ‘Your son’s dead of an overdose.’ She’s done everything in her power to save him. Maybe jail is his only cure."

DENNIS QUAID is determined to turn his baby twins’ medical nightmare into a positive by warning other parents about the dangers of hospitals on a new TV news special.

WINKLER TESTIFIES IN RITTER TRIAL

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:18 pm

LATEST: Former HAPPY DAYS star HENRY WINKLER wrapped up his testimony in the ongoing JOHN RITTER wrongful death trial by telling the media he’s still grieving the loss of his old pal.
Winkler was in court in Glendale, California on Wednesday morning (13Feb08) helping Ritter’s widow Amy Yasbeck prove the late actor’s death could have been avoided if doctors at the Providence Street Joseph Medical Center hadn’t misdiagnosed the star’s heart condition.
Winkler, who was working with Ritter on TV sitcom 8 Simple Rules on the day he was taken ill in 2003, told the court he still remembers the pain he felt when he heard his longtime friend had died.
He told reporters outside court, "I couldn’t comprehend it. It was like they were speaking from another planet. We kept repeating over, ‘What? What?’" In court, Winkler insisted his late friend would have continued working in TV and cinema for many years if he had been properly treated by doctors on the day he died. The actor maintained Ritter’s death cost his family millions in future earnings.
Ritter’s wife and his eldest children are suing two doctors for $67 million (£33.5 million) for misdiagnosing Ritter’s torn aorta.
