SIR PAUL McCARTNEY and his estranged wife HEATHER MILLS have been banned from discussing their divorce proceedings with the media, after a judge slapped them with a gagging order.
The former couple began the battle over their financial settlement at London’s High Court on Monday (11Feb08), where ex-glamour model Mills is said to be representing herself in her fight for a share of the singer’s estimated $1.65 billion (£825 million) personal fortune.
Mr Justice Bennett imposed the court order at the beginning of the hearing to prevent details of their divorce settlement being leaked to the media.
A court source says, "The judge made it clear at the start of proceedings that the hearing was being held in private and that all evidence should remain strictly confidential. All parties were warned about leaking information.
"Anyone caught revealing confidential details of the court hearing, set to last five days, is likely to be found in contempt of court and fined." But the settlement details may never reach the public domain unless one of the parties involved objects to the final decision and takes the case to the Court of Appeal.
McCartney and Mills, who have four-year-old daughter Beatrice together, split in May 2006 after four years of marriage.

PARIS HILTON’s younger brother BARRON has been arrested for driving under the influence (DUI) in Malibu, California.
The 18-year-old was pulled over by cops as he cruised down the Pacific Coast Highway in a black Mercedes-Benz at 8.30am on Tuesday (12Feb08).
Hilton, who was travelling with a passenger at the time, is currently being booked at the Lost Hills Sheriff’s station, reports TMZ.com.
Barron’s arrest comes just eight months after his The Simple Life star sibling spent a brief spell behind bars in relation to a charge of DUI dating back to September 2006.

Actor NAVEEN ANDREWS has slammed the makers of TV series LOST for axing DOMINIC MONAGHAN from its cast - branding the move "brutal".
The actor, who plays Sayid Jarrah on the hit programme, was left devastated following Monaghan’s shock departure last year (07).
And Andrews is still confused as to the exact reason why Monaghan - who played Charlie Pace - was written out of the series.

STAR WARS creator GEORGE LUCAS has thrilled fans by announcing his upcoming spin-off TV series CLONE WARS will be preceded by a feature-length pilot movie to be released in cinemas.
The animated Star Wars: The Clone Wars, which is set immediately before the events portrayed in 2005’s Revenge Of The Sith, will open in U.S. movie theatres on 15 August (08).
It will be followed by Lucas’ long-gestating television series Clone Wars, which will air on America’s Cartoon Network and TNT channels this autumn (08).
Lucas has already created 40 half-hour episodes of the show.

Veteran rocker ROBERT PLANT has cast further doubt on a LED ZEPPELIN reunion tour, because he’s not ready to pledge his full commitment to the group.
Plant joined his fellow bandmates for a one-off tribute concert in London last December (07) and fans have been waiting for what they feel is an inevitable world tour announcement ever since.
And while guitarist Jimmy Page has vowed to consider a tour after Plant concludes his string of live dates with new musical partner Alison Krauss, the singer admits going on the road with the legendary band is not one of his top priorities.
He says, "I really enjoyed playing with my friends, and we are a lot closer because of it. But the responsibility, the whole deal…it’s a whole different thing to what I’m doing with Alison."

MOTLEY CRUE bassist NIKKI SIXX has dismissed reports the rockers have signed a record and concert deal worth in excess of $100 million (£50 million), insisting the allegations are "false".
The band was said to have recently agreed to a three album and three world tour contract with gig promoters Live Nation, in a multi-million dollar deal similar to that of pop superstar Madonna, according to an online blog quoting singer Vince Neil.
Neil is reported to have told blogger Robin Leach the first of the three tours would begin this July (08), adding, "We’ll actually have been together for 37 years by the time it (the Live Nation deal) comes to an end." But according to Blabbermouth.net, Sixx is adamant there is no truth to the claims.
In a statement released on Monday (11Feb08), Sixx says, "Motley Crue has not signed any deals. Any information reported to the contrary is false and misleading."

Recent reports claimed the My Humps star was planning to bring forward her wedding to the actor after learning she was pregnant.

"We’re not moving up the wedding. (They) haven’t met with a wedding planner yet." And Terri is convinced the rumours were fabricated because cynics cannot fathom the idea of true love: "I think people can’t believe people do get married just because they love each other, not because they are pregnant." MICHAEL JACKSON has released a video message to fans to mark the 25th anniversary of his THRILLER album.
In the tape, the pop superstar reveals his plans to record new material, claiming his "passion for music has never stopped".
He says, "It’s hard to believe that 25 years ago (producer) Quincy Jones and I embarked on an album named Thriller.
"There is still much more to come for Michael Jackson. My passion for music has never stopped. It’s my hope that Thriller continues to live on for each new generation to discover." A special edition of the album was released in the U.S. on Tuesday (12Feb08) to mark the anniversary.

Former GREY’S ANATOMY star KATE WALSH knew her husband ALEX YOUNG was the man for her when her pet dog gave the movie mogul her seal of approval.
Animal-loving Walsh was touched by how quickly Young, whom she wed in September (07), bonded with her pooch Lucy when they first met.

HEROES bosses sparked upset by refusing to hire Irish actors to play Irishmen in the hit TV series - because they hated their accents.
Actor Adrian Pasdar - who plays politician Nathan Petrelli in the sci-fi show - claims producers opted to hire Americans to play residents of County Cork because they preferred the sound of their voices, following a series of fruitless auditions with aspiring Irish screen stars.
The ‘Irish’ actors were recruited for a scene where Nathan and his brother Peter - played by Milo Ventimiglia - end up in Cork.
Pasdar says, "The irony is we had American guys playing the Irish guys in those episodes because the Irish actors who auditioned for the roles didn’t sound Irish enough.
"So the portrayal of the guys from Cork, I have to admit, was very interesting. So I don’t know how much of it worked and how much of it didn’t."

British actor-turned-director LORD RICHARD ATTENBOROUGH basks in the attention he receives at movie awards ceremonies - because he’s always mistaken for his brother outside the film industry.

Director JOHNNIE TO set his new movie SPARROW in and around Hong Kong’s oldest streets - because he wanted to capture the city before it is lost to developers forever.
To’s latest film offering follows a group of thieves living in Hong Kong, and the filmmaker deliberately focused on them because pick-pockets are also becoming scarce in his native city.
He says, "The main point of the movie is to capture the flavour of Hong Kong.
"The city is undergoing a lot of changes and the Hong Kong government has torn down a lot of buildings so in my film I wanted to capture the old Hong Kong.
"The profession of the pick-pocket is actually dying out as we enter a new era, and in way these pick-pockets are a bygone age of Hong Kong and that’s why they are in the movie."
