FARRELL/FIENNES FANS CAN NOW WALK THE ‘IN BRUGES TRAIL’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:42 pm

Bruges officials are so thrilled with COLIN FARRELL and RALPH FIENNES new movie IN BRUGES they’ve created a new tourist walk so visitors to the Belgian town can see the film’s locations.
Even though Farrell’s hitman character Ray spends the film criticising the picturesque city, locals are convinced shots of life and landmarks will bring tourists flocking to Bruges.
Farrell reveals, "I think most people are just kind of happy that their city, which has an unexplored feel to it, is getting a bit of recognition.
"You wonder, ‘When they see the film what will they do? Will they be like, "Bastards, they fooled us!"’ "But our director (Martin McDonagh) showed the film to the Mayor and the Minister Of Tourism and supposedly they’re very happy with it.
"In fact they printed brochures for the tourist board of all the sights where we shot, with a gun beside each photo, on a map. People can now follow the In Bruges trail."

WINEHOUSE DENIED GRAMMY VISA

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:39 pm

LATEST: AMY WINEHOUSE has been banned from travelling to the U.S. to perform at Sunday’s (10Feb08) Grammy Awards.
The British singer is nominated for six awards at the prestigious Los Angeles bash - but she won’t be there to perform or collect any prizes, after she was denied a visa.

"There will of course be other opportunities and she very much looks forward to visiting America in the near future."

ALBA WILL ONLY SPEAK SPANISH TO BABY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:39 pm

JESSICA ALBA will speak nothing but Spanish when her baby is born later this year (08) because she regretted not picking up the language of her grandparents when she was a child.
The sexy Latino star reveals her father only spoke English to her and her brother because he wanted them to become model Americans - and it took her years to master basic Spanish.
She tells Latina magazine, "I wish to God that my dad spoke Spanish to my brother and me, but he didn’t grow up with it." Now, Alba is committed to mastering Spanish so she can speak the language to her baby.
She adds, "Hopefully I can pick it up because I want my kids to speak Spanish. I don’t even want them to speak English for maybe the first two to three years, until pre-school.
"We’re in the United States so they’re going to learn it anyway." Alba admits her inability to speak Spanish when she first became a star didn’t go down well with fellow Latinos.
She explains, "I got shunned (and) it made me feel really bad, like maybe I’m not (a Latino)."

SPEARS ATTORNEY STEPS DOWN

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:39 pm

BARBRA STREISAND’s cousin has been forced to step down as troubled BRITNEY SPEARS’ attorney.
Adam Streisand claimed he had been hired by Spears before she lost control of her legal and financial affairs to her father Jamie in court on Friday (01Feb08).
When he attempted to represent the absent singer in court on Monday (04Feb08), a judge refused to recognise him as Spears’ counsel.
After taking control of his daughter’s affairs, and being named conservator over the pop star, Jamie Spears was granted the right to choose his daughter’s legal representative.
Streisand, who fought the conservatorship in court on Monday, stood down on Thursday (07Feb08).
A statement reads: "At the request of Britney Spears, Adam Streisand… met with her yesterday to discuss her legal rights in connection with the conservatorship over her person and estate.
"Following that meeting, Mr. Streisand learned that the court had issued orders that prevent Ms. Spears from retaining counsel of her own choosing, and, on that basis, Mr. Streisand has decided he will not represent her at this time." Spears, who left a UCLA Medical Center psychiatric ward on Wednesday (05Feb08), is still represented by court-appointed lawyer Samuel Ingham.

MAXIM REPORTER EXPOSES LUTFI AS TIPSTER

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:36 pm

BRITNEY SPEARS’ former manager SAM LUTFI’s links to the paparazzi have come into question as part of a magazine expose on the hardcore photographers who follow the pop star around Los Angeles.
Maxim magazine reporter Michael Joseph Gross infiltrated Britney’s paparazzi army for an article about the individuals who live to chase the singer.
But the piece became more of a hard news look at Lutfi’s publicity efforts after the journalist discovered Spears’ sidekick had a hotline to photographers - and may have tipped them off about Britney’s whereabouts at all times.
Lutfi was served a restraining order on Friday (01Feb08) and instructed to keep his distance from the Spears family after Britney’s mother Lynne claimed the manager had admitted he drugged her daughter.
And now the new Maxim expose suggests Lutfi was making sure his former charge was hounded by the paparazzi.
Gross explains, "The media frenzy (surrounding Spears) was significantly aided and abetted and intensified after Sam Lutfi came on the scene.
"There’s one paparazzi agency that’s emerged as having the inside track on Britney all the time - they’re the ones who know where she is, where she’s going… It’s called X17.
"One of the owners of X17 told me that last year she began getting messages from lots of people with funny names; we know that Sam, in the past, has used a lot of pseudonyms.
"After that she said one day out of the blue, Sam Lutfi called and introduced himself by name, then he started calling more and more often.
"By the time I was with the paparazzi, they were sitting there getting text messages from him at regular intervals telling them where she was, where she was gonna go."
