DIDDY’S FAIRYTALE FASHION RANGE
Hip-hop entrepreneur SEAN ‘DIDDY’ COMBS’ new fashion range was inspired by a fantasy story he created about a futuristic prince.
Diddy, the creator of the Sean John clothing line, turned to all his own personal style icons to create the fictional prince, who comes from the "kingdom of Harlem" - the New York borough where Combs was born.
He will unveil his new designs at a New York Fashion Week show on Friday (8Feb08), and says, "I’m telling this magical story in my head. That this is the year 2020 in the kingdom of Harlem. The young prince returns, after the wars and all of that, returns to claim his thrown.
"If we had a child that had the bloodline of Grace Jones, David Bowie, Karl Lagerfeld, P.Diddy, David Beckham, that’s actually his family." Meanwhile, the mogul also hints he has a new woman in his life, after splitting from longterm love Kim Porter - by confessing his new designs have a woman’s touch.
He adds, "Every great king falls in love with a woman, and we all have to admit it, if you fall in love with a woman she affects your style. She inspires your style, she changes the way you look and you walk and you talk and you act… and you see the style getting more modern, more forward."
