FLOREZ CANCELS SHOWS DUE TO FISHBONE THROAT INFECTION

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:20 am

Opera tenor JUAN DIEGO FLOREZ has cancelled all his performances in a Chicago, Illinois production of IL BARBIERE DI SIVIGLIA after contracting a throat infection caused by swallowing a fishbone.
The 35-year-old Italian has been ordered by doctors not to perform until mid-March (08) at the earliest.
Florez will be replaced by U.S. tenor John Osborn in the Lyric Opera Of Chicago production’s 12 scheduled performances, the last of which is due to take place on 22 March (08).
The theatre’s spokesman William Mason says, "We were dismayed to learn of Juan Diego’s medical difficulty, especially knowing how much he was looking forward to returning to Lyric, and send all best wishes for his recovery.
"Fortunately, John Osborn, a major interpreter of the bel canto repertoire, is available on short notice."
