MYSTERY COWBOY HELPED JACKSON OUT OF DEPRESSION

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:30 pm

R&B star JANET JACKSON has credited a mystery cowboy for helping her to overcome her depression.
The All 4 U hitmaker suffered a bout of clinical depression in the mid-to-late 1990s, which she addressed on 1997’s The Velvet Rope LP.
And she admits she only managed to conquer the illness with the help of the stranger, who has since become one of her closest friends.
Speaking to U.S. TV presenter Larry King, Jackson says, "I had… well, obviously, the love of my friends and family. But there was… someone who came to me actually. And I never tell his name, but he was this cowboy…
"A true cowboy, an older man. And just certain things he had said to me, it just… it was as if he knew me and knew what I was experiencing, as if he had seen my entire life in a film…
"I didn’t know who he was. I went to this resort and… he happened to be there. And I just threw caution to the wind and said I’m going to give him a call. And we still speak to this day. I spoke to him not that long ago. What a wonderful man. And he really was a great help to me." But Jackson insists she was never driven to the point of suicide by her depression, even when she was at her worst: "No. No, not suicide. I was very unhappy. With depression, there’s a lot of crying. You don’t want to get out of bed. You can’t speak. That happened to me a lot, where I so badly wanted something to come out, but it couldn’t.
"And people would talk to me and say, ‘Well, why can’t you say anything? Why aren’t you talking?’ And I just… I wanted to, but it would not come out."

JANET JACKSON IS ORCHESTRATING JACKSON 5 REUNION

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:30 pm

JANET JACKSON has dismissed reports she is shunning a JACKSON 5 reunion tour, insisting she’s the one urging her siblings to go ahead with the gigs.
The R&B star was alleged to have refused a support slot on the group’s planned world tour, which her older brother Jermaine Jackson is trying to organise.
But she claims she’d be delighted to hit the road with her family, if only the rest of the legendary band would agree to the tour.
She tells Larry King, "I would love to (tour with them). I get my brothers on the phone all the time. I’m the biggest fan of the Jacksons, The Jackson 5.
"I have conference calls all the time pushing them to do a huge tour. I tell them if they did, I would love to open for them.
"I have never opened for anyone. My very first tour, I was the headline. It was a nation(wide) tour. I never opened for anyone. It would be an honour." But when asked which of her siblings is refraining from the comeback tour, she refuses to confirm reports it’s Michael, coyly adding: "They would love to, but one of them is on the fence. You have to respect that. He’s worked very hard at his solo career. I don’t know. Maybe he’ll come around. Still kind of working on him."

HATCHER UNFAZED BY SINGLE STATUS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:27 pm

DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES star TERI HATCHER is in no rush to walk down the aisle because she’s enjoying single life too much to worry about marrying.
The twice-divorced actress, 43, has a 10-year-old daughter, Emerson Rose, from her nine-year marriage to actor Jon Tenney and insists she’s content with her batchelorette status.
Hatcher says, "There are plenty of men in my life, and they’re all special.
Seriously - I’m doing fine just the way I am.
"The other day I was talking to a girlfriend who was turning 40. I asked her how she was feeling about it, and she said, ‘It’s funny, when I was 39, I was going through all the stress of, oh God, I’m not married, I haven’t done this or that… But now I’m actually 40, I feel great. I feel powerful, like I’ve lived and learned a lot.’ "And she was right. It was good to be reminded of that."

SHIELDS PATCHES THINGS UP WITH HER MOTHER

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:27 pm

LATEST: BROOKE SHIELDS ended her rift with her mother during a heartfelt telephone call.
Teri Shields recently complained to a U.S. tabloid that the actress had shut her out of her and her grandchildren’s lives, accusing the star’s husband Chris Henchy of having a svengali-like influence over her.
And after reading the article, Shields reached out to the 74-year-old to repair their fractured relationship.
Teri says, "After Brooke read what I had to say in The National Enquirer, she called me to remind me to watch the second episode of her show. In a somewhat sarcastic tone, Brooke then said, ‘Thanks a lot for the things I’ve been reading about you and me.’ I responded by saying, ‘Well, you know it’s all true Brooke.’ "Then she dropped it, but she didn’t scream or yell at me or carry on. It’s her way of saying she wants to move on. I know she doesn’t want this bitterness to continue."

RITTER DEFENDANTS BLAME ALIAS FOR DEATH

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:24 pm

LATEST: Late actor JOHN RITTER is to blame for his own death because he used an alias when he checked into hospital the day he died, a court has been told.
Ritter’s widow Amy Yasbeck is suing two doctors she claims misdiagnosed and mistreated the Bad Santa actor prior to his death in 2003, aged 54.
She claims an aortic tear Ritter was suffering from would have been diagnosed if hospital staff had carried out an X-ray.
But lawyers representing the medics claim Ritter asked to be registered at the St Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, California under the name Edwin Marcus in a bid to protect his privacy.
The attorneys allege the name change created confusion at the hospital, which prevented the X-ray from being carried out.
Yasbeck is seeking $67 million (£33.5 million) in damages.

WINEHOUSE CLEARED OF ALL CONSPIRACY CHARGES

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:09 pm

Police have confirmed AMY WINEHOUSE will face no further action over the conspiracy charges levelled at her husband BLAKE FIELDER-CIVIL Cops quizzed Winehouse in December (07) over allegations she attempted to pervert the course of justice, before releasing her on bail and warning her she’d be asked to return to the police station for more questioning.
But police on Friday (29Feb08) announced the Back To Black star will play no further part in their investigation.
Meanwhile, Fielder-Civil was forced to confront judges in London on Friday without the support of his wife - who failed to attend his court appearance.
Winehouse has stood firmly by Fielder-Civil - who is currently incarcerated at London’s Pentonville Prison on charges of attempting to pervert the course of justice - and has made her devotion apparent at past hearings by blowing kisses and mouthing "I love you" at him.
However, on Friday there was no sign of the singer as Fielder-Civil took to the dock at Snaresbrook Crown Court to plead not guilty to the conspiracy charge.
He has already denied causing grievous bodily harm with intent to London pub landlord James King. In a bizarre twist, Fielder-Civil was then charged with teaming up with King to pervert the course of justice.
Fielder-Civil has been remanded in custody until a directions hearing on 25 April (08).

BLUNT BACKS PRINCE HARRY AT WAR

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:09 pm

JAMES BLUNT has praised British royal PRINCE HARRY for joining troops in combat in Afghanistan, insisting it’s the least he can do as a soldier.
Blunt was a captain in the British Army before swapping his rifle for a guitar and a career as a crooner.
When asked if he was surprised about the heir’s secret mission on U.S. TV show Good Morning America on Friday (29Feb08), Blunt replies, "Not at all. He’s a regular soldier. He should be at least trying his best to bring some peace and stability to that part of the world." Blunt also urged the public to pay less attention to celebrities, and more to serious world affairs: "We focus so much on the tabloids and celebrity culture, and there are so many things we should be dealing with at the moment and a few wars that are going on around the world that do need our attention." The young prince, 23, is now being withdrawn from the war-torn country after news of his frontline service was leaked by foreign media.

MOBY: ‘SPEARS’ FAME LED TO HARDCORE SUBSTANCE ABUSE’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:09 pm

MOBY blames BRITNEY SPEARS’ public downfall on her rapid rise to fame, insisting superstardom at such a young age has left her with a "hardcore substance abuse" problem and identity crisis.
The dance star, who produced a song on Spears’ 2003 In The Zone LP, claims the singer had little chance to avoid falling victim to the pressures of fame because she wasn’t mentally prepared for the worldwide adoration she received.
He says, "I think what’s happening (to Spears) is the combination of hardcore substance abuse coupled with… she doesn’t know who she is.
"She became an international icon aged 16. My armchair dilettante psychoanalysis of what’s going on is she’s punishing herself and saying to the world, ‘You loved me when I was a 16-year-old ingenue, do you love me now I’m a 26-year-old drug-damaged person?’" And he admits he is immensely saddened by her public meltdown: "In a weird way she’s challenging people, but it’s breaking my heart because ultimately she’s not doing things on a symbolic level.
"Cutting your hair off is symbolic. Losing your children and becoming a drug addict is not."

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:06 pm

LINDSAY LOHAN is desperately waiting for her next movie role, fearing her acting career is over at 21.
Offers of work have dried up after Lohan’s headline-grabbing 2007, when she was arrested for driving under the influence twice, spent time in rehab and jail and was chastised by a studio boss for partying too much.
And Lohan confesses she is terrified she won’t find work again.
She tells Paper magazine, "Right now I just want to find a great script, a great role. I was so used to working and working and working and for a few months there was nothing for me to do. Now I know what it’s like to be an out-of-work actor, and how much it scares me."

FOX UNEASY WORKING WITH KNIGHTLEY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 6:06 pm

Actor LAURENCE FOX agonised over filming 2001’s THE HOLE with KEIRA KNIGHTLEY because he had to act out a love scene with then then-teenage star.
The 29-year-old, who made his professional debut in the British thriller, felt uneasy getting intimate with Knightley, and his hesitation even prompted director Nick Hamm to question his sexuality.
He recalls, "She was really clever. That’s what I remember about her - and that I had to sort of slightly molest her at some point in the film and feeling really uncomfortable about doing it, because she was 15 and I was 23.
"The director asked me if I was gay and was that the problem, and I was just like, ‘No, that’s not the problem: I just feel a bit like I’m molesting one of my little brother’s friends.’"
