Actress KATIE HOLMES has dismissed a U.S. tabloid’s claim she secretly fell pregnant with ex-fiance CHRIS KLEIN’s baby.
The Batman Begins beauty - who is now married to Tom Cruise - dated the American Pie star for five years, but split from the actor in early 2005. Weeks after their break-up, Holmes began dating Cruise and the couple welcomed baby daughter Suri in April 2006, before marrying in Rome, Italy in November that year.
But a close pal of Klein’s recently claimed to the National Enquirer that Suri wasn’t the first child Holmes had conceived - even hinting the 29-year-old had undergone an abortion.
The friend told the publication: "Shortly after his (Klein’s) relationship with Katie ended, Chris and I had a heart-to-heart.
"We were having dinner at Cafeteria, a restaurant in New York’s Chelsea district, when Chris blurted out: ‘Dude, you know I got Katie preggers.’ "There was a long silence. I realised Chris had said more than he had intended. My next thought was: ‘What happened to the baby?’ (But) from the look in Chris’ eyes, I realised this was highly personal. I didn’t want to probe any further." But a spokesperson for Holmes insists there is no truth to the allegations, branding the Enquirer’s story "false", reports MSNBC.

Welsh actress CATHERINE ZETA-JONES has topped a list of the most beautiful women in the world.
The Traffic star, 38, was the number one choice in a new poll voted for by 8,000 women worldwide - stealing the crown from a host of much younger beauties because of her "style and grace".
The survey allowed women to vote for their all-time favourite beauty icons with 1960s actress Brigitte Bardot claiming second place, followed by Breakfast At Tiffany’s star Audrey Hepburn at number three.
Today’s hottest celebrities found it hard to compete with the classical beauties of past Hollywood eras, with the late Marilyn Monroe and Dame Elizabeth Taylor, 75, beating Jessica Biel, 25, and 26-year-old Sienna Miller.
Bizarrely, Angelina Jolie, who often claims the top spot in beauty polls, failed to make the top 50, with Brad Pitt’s famous former lovers Jennifer Aniston and Gwyneth Paltrow also missing out on a place.

British actor TIM ROTH is glad he doesn’t look like Hollywood heart-throbs BRAD PITT and JOHNNY DEPP - because it’s harder for handsome stars to earn respect.
The Reservoir Dogs star feels sorry for good looking screen idols because they run the risk of short careers if they fail to prove themselves as actors.
The 46-year-old, who famously turned down the role of Severus Snape in the Harry Potter franchise, says, "It was clear early on that if you have those looks, your career can be brief - that’s disturbing.
"It’s hard for those guys. Sometimes, how they go from boy to man just doesn’t work. They have to prove themselves as actors more."

Married South Korean actress OK SO-RI is challenging the country’s government to alter their adultery laws in a bid to avoid jail after she was caught having an affair with an opera singer.
The movie star, 39, cheated on her TV producer husband Park Chul with her unnamed lover over several months in 2006. Her affair resulted in Chul filing a criminal case against So-Ri accusing her of adultery last November (07) and she was indicted on the charge earlier this month (Jan08).
Extramarital affairs are illegal under South Korean law, and unfaithful spouses face a maximum of two years behind bars. However, the majority of cases are settled out of court.
But So-Ri is appealing against the criminal charge and on Wednesday (30Jan08) filed a petition in a court in Goyang City calling for the government to scrap the controversial law.
In her complaint, her attorneys argue: "The adultery law constitutes a serious breach of the individual’s rights to make decisions concerning sex and privacy under the constitution.
"Adultery cases must be handled in civil courts, not in criminal courts." This is not the first time the legislation has come under fire - complaints were filed in 1990, 1993 and 2001, but the Constitutional Court rejected all petitions on the grounds that social morality would be weakened.

Record executive ANTONIO ‘L.A.’ REID is confident he can revive the careers of R&B singers MARIAH CAREY and JANET JACKSON - because he never stopped believing in their star power.
The Island Def Jam boss was eager to sign both artists to his label - despite the commercial failure of their respective albums released by Virgin Records.
After signing Carey in 2002, her subsequent debut with Island, The Emancipation Of Mimi, has gone on to sell more than 10 million copies worldwide - and Reid is convinced Jackson’s upcoming album Discipline will have similar success.
He says, "I firmly believe in truly talented people, particularly talented superstars. I believe if you have the talent, it’s just a question of someone refining it and helping to make the right creative decisions.
"Talent always wins in the end; you’re never over. As a matter of fact, I find that the marketplace generally is much healthier for icons than it might be for new artists, and I think that has been proven for many artists.
"When you look at the Eagles’ success or the recent Led Zeppelin success, it tells me that people who grew up on these artists always love them, they just want them to make the right record. So I never really give up on them."

THE EELS frontman MARK EVERETT almost turned down an offer to write his memoirs - because he was convinced fans wouldn’t want to read about his troubled childhood.
The rocker, who is better known by his stage name E, was so traumatised by his father’s death in 1982 from a heart attack, he contemplated suicide as a teen - just weeks after his sister Liz had tried to kill herself by swallowing a bottle of pills.
And the tragedies outlined in his new book Things The Grandchildren Should Know continue with his mother’s subsequent death from cancer; his sister’s successful suicide attempt in 1996, and the death of his flight attendant cousin Jennifer, who was one of the victims of the September 11 terrorist attacks.
But the 44-year-old maintains an optimistic outlook on life - and is hopeful his book will help others suffering from depression.
He says, "For years I never took the idea seriously. Why would anyone want to read such a catalogue of misery? But then as I started writing I began to see there was a story there, and it wasn’t to find out how optimistic I am and how I enjoy life.
"I’m one of the lucky people who is making a living doing something I would be doing anyway. At the very least, I hope the book might inspire some kid who thinks his life is screwed and can’t see a way out."

Saxophonist KENNY G parted ways with label Arista Records after 25 years because he was tired of recording other artists’ music.
The jazz musician has been releasing albums of cover songs since 2002 - and decided to leave the firm in favour of specialist label Concord Records after executives refused to allow him to record his own compositions for his next LP.
He says, "I was with Arista forever, and Clive (Davis, record producer) was like family to me. But I wanted to do an album of original material, and that wasn’t what they wanted me to do.
"I personally wanted to get back to my roots and explore creative things.
Also, I think people are tired of cover records and they are hungry for original music."

LENNY KRAVITZ almost quit music for life in the Brazilian jungle after his last album failed to perform as well as he’d hoped.
After spending two years promoting 2004’s Baptism, Kravitz flew to Brazil to perform at the Rio De Janeiro leg of the Live Earth concerts in July 2007 and then took time out from his busy schedule to do some soul-searching.
Kravitz took enough clothes for a week, and stayed for four months, living on a remote farm.
And he admits he was tempted to stay for good.
The 43-year-old says, "There was certainly the temptation to just stay gone.
There was no stress, less time spent on decisions. And I reconnected with knowing that God gives you everything you need. But I came out of the jungle and I came back with a fresh outlook."

Rap superstar SEAN ‘DIDDY’ COMBS is spending tens of thousands of dollars on a spectacular pre-Super Bowl champagne party which is due to take place on Thursday (31Jan08) night.
Wine suppliers in Arizona are complaining the mogul has bought the state’s entire supply of $800 (£400)-a-bottle Cristal champagne for his bash in Phoenix, where the American football game between the New England Patriots and the New York Giants will take place on Sunday (03Feb08).
An AZ Wine Co. spokesperson tells the New York Post, "He’s hoarding all of it. Cristal is hard to get anyway, but with the Super Bowl in town, it’s impossible." Combs’ party - at which he will also perform - will take place across an entire city block outside Phoenix’s Axis/Radius nightclub. VIP tickets cost $1,100 (£550).

CHRISSIE HYNDE is fronting a protest on Thursday (31Jan08) against the famous horse-drawn carriages in Central Park, New York.
The Pretenders singer married her now ex-husband, rocker Jim Kerr, in one of the carriages in 1984 - but since joining forces with animal rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), Hynde claims to have discovered how cruelly the horses are treated.
She says, "Learning about how horses have died in accidents and seeing their pathetic stalls have caused me to change my tune about the carriage horses." New York’s Horse & Carriage Association recently hit out at pop star Pink’s role in the same PETA campaign, dismissing claims horses are mistreated.
Spokesperson Carolyn Daly tells the New York Daily News, "They have specialised shoes for concrete. We haven’t had one animal cruelty violation from the three agencies that oversee us."

HEATH LEDGER’s publicist has spoken out against rumours of the late actor’s alleged drug use - branding the claims "heinous lies".
Mara Buxbaum, who worked for the star before his sudden death, insists the Brokeback Mountain actor was never addicted to hard drugs and is outraged at the media speculation surrounding the 28-year-old’s tragic passing.
Video footage of Ledger partying with two strangers at a Hollywood drugs party was aired in the U.S. on Wednesday (30Jan08) - and although the scenes don’t show the late star indulging in any illegal activities, the TV shows involved have decided against broadcasting any more of the tape out of respect for Ledger’s family.
Several U.S. websites have also reported claims that Ledger’s fiancee, Michelle Williams, ended their relationship over an alleged drug habit.
But Buxbaum is keen to stress the rumours are not true.
Buxbaum tells New York Daily News, "(The story is) fabricated… just one lie among many. The speculation is heinous." Ledger was found dead in his New York apartment on 22 January (08).
An autopsy failed to reveal how he died, although police believe his death could be drug-related as five different bottles of prescription drugs were found around his apartment.

British pop star NATASHA BEDINGFIELD was left red-faced in the recording studio after her songwriting partner declared his lust for her in a drunken text message.
The These Words singer was shocked when she received a late-night message from the writer containing a love poem - but saved him any embarrassment by pretending to think he was passing on lyrics to a new song.
The 26-year-old tells the New York Daily News, "I didn’t know he fancied me until he sent me this text, some gushy poem.
"I figured he was drunk, so the next day I said, ‘Those were great lyrics you wrote to me!’ and he was like, ‘Uh, yeah, lyrics!’"

SNOOP DOGG has failed in his bid to persuade U.K. officials to lift a ban preventing him from entering the country.
The Beautiful hitmaker, real name Calvin Broadus, is prohibited form entering Britain after he was involved in a brawl at London’s Heathrow Airport in April 2006 - but recently wrote to the Home Office in a bid to get the order overturned.
Broadus was keen to visit the U.K. this month (Jan08) to launch a new advertisement for European mobile phone giant Orange, but attempts by both the telecoms company and the rapper himself to gain a visa have failed, according to Allhiphop.com. The incident at the British airport left seven police officers injured and led to the star being handed a caution for affray and a ban on returning to the country.
Broadus’ criminal record also led to him being denied entry into Australia in April 2007.

BRITNEY SPEARS has been taken by ambulance from her Los Angeles mansion and admitted to the city’s UCLA hospital.
The star’s ambulance was surrounded by a convoy of police cars as it left her Beverly Hills home, after a major incident which saw the property surrounded by emergency services.
Police, paramedics and U.S. rangers were seen entering the star’s luxury compound and opening the property’s fire gates late on Wednesday (30Jan08) night.
Spear’s mother Lynne, who is in L.A. visiting her elder daughter, was seen entering the house, followed by the star’s father Jamie, who was seen crying as he arrived at the property.
As the pop star was whisked away to hospital, Lynne Spears was seen following the ambulance in a car with her daughter’s on/off paparazzo boyfriend Adnan Ghalib.
Spears was admitted to UCLA at around 1.30am on Thursday (31Jan08) morning, with her longtime companion/manager Sam Lutfi seen leaving the facility a short time later.
The star will be held at the hospital on a metal health order, according to TMZ.com.
The 26-year-old was previously admitted to L.A.’s Cedars-Sinai Medical Center earlier this month (03Jan08) after a three-hour stand-off with police, and was held for two days on a ‘5150 hold’ order, meaning medics have reason to believe she is a danger to herself or others.
