HEATH LEDGER feared cocaine would kill him, according to a nightclub owner who alleges he took the drug with the late star.
John-Bruce Shoemaker has come forward with his claims just one week after Ledger was found dead in his New York apartment at the age of 28.
Shoemaker claims he supplied Ledger with cocaine at his Prague nightclub Marquis De Sade when the Australian star was in the Czech capital to shoot movies A Knight’s Tale and The Brothers Grimm in 2000 and 2003.
He tells the National Enquirer, "I supplied him with cocaine and we did it together. There were lots of beautiful girls in my club, but he was only interested in drugs." And Shoemaker claims Ledger once told him, "If I’m not careful, this stuff would kill me." An autopsy was unable to establish the cause of Ledger’s death, although police believe his death could be drug-related as five different bottles of prescription drugs were found around his apartment.

Rapper KANYE WEST will launch a star-studded tour later this year (08) when he hits the road with support acts RIHANNA, N.E.R.D. and LUPE FIASCO.
The Gold Digger star is determined his upcoming Glow In The Dark tour will be unlike anything seen before - and he wants the event’s A-list line-up to reflect that.
West is also collaborating with Madonna choreographer Jamie King on the tour, for which dates have yet to be announced.

Singer SHERYL CROW uses her new album SHINE OVER BABYLON to put her baby son to sleep.
The 45-year-old admits her nine-month-old boy Wyatt isn’t a fan of the new disc’s slower pace and political content.
She says, "We went out on the road when he was around four months old. And whenever he would get a little fussy, we would just put on Shine Over Babylon and he’s go straight down (to sleep).
"He wanted to hear something loud and boisterous."

The singer, currently ensconced in a public custody battle with ex-husband Kevin Federline over their two sons, has found time to view and lay down the money for the Spanish-style seafront house in Hermosa Beach, California.
A real estate source tells the National Enquirer, "Britney’s new pad is luxurious and she got it for about $2.5 million less that its asking price.
Spears’ new house boasts four bedrooms, four bathrooms, a media room, a pool, a spa and a pub.

A fashion consultant is suing BRITNEY SPEARS for failing to pay her for her services.
Las Vegas-based Nancy Rosu filed her lawsuit in Clark County District Court in Nevada on 18 January (08).
The legal papers claim Spears employed Rosu to buy her clothes and that she would then reimburse her - but the Toxic singer allegedly stopped paying Rosu back in August (07).
Rosu is suing for breach of contract and intentional infliction of emotional distress and is seeking more than $50,000 (£25,000) in damages.

The soundtrack to Oscar-nominated movie JUNO has knocked ALICIA KEYS off the top of the U.S. albums chart.
The Juno soundtrack, which features songs by The Kinks and Sonic Youth, has climbed from two to one to lead the Billboard 200.
Keys’ No One falls a place to two, while Natasha Bedingfield is this week’s highest debut at three with Pocketful Of Sunshine.

Pregnant teen star JAMIE LYNN SPEARS has bought her boyfriend a new truck - so he can drive her and their baby around in style.
The 16-year-old actress and boyfriend Casey Aldridge were spotted shopping for used vehicles on a lot in Tupelo, Mississippi earlier this month (Jan08).
Aldridge drove off in a white Nissan truck with a trailer hitch, according to Life & Style magazine.
Car salesman Mitch Savery says, "Their main concern was having a safe car with power. They were planning on using it for fishing trips."

SARAH MICHELLE GELLAR was so shocked by how realistically violent co-star ANDY GARCIA was while shooting scenes for their new movie, she had to walk off set.
The actress grew close to Garcia while they made The Air That I Breathe together - but found it hard to watch his method approach to his role as a crime boss.
Gellar battled through scenes when Garcia was forced to beat up their co-star Brendan Fraser’s gangster, and suffered herself when he turned on her character, a pop star.
She says, "I had a hard time separating the scene from what is reality. And at one point I had to leave.
"I didn’t know the scary side of Andy. I’m a small girl, and he doesn’t let go. When he throws me up against a wall - that’s actuality."

Streisand, who is married to Josh’s actor dad James Brolin, is an active Democrat campaigner and is furious her family will be linked to Bush by the movie, reports the National Enquirer.
A source tells the tabloid Streisand begged her stepson not to take the role: "Barbra thinks this movie will show a side to George W
. Bush that draws sympathy from the public and she does not think Bush deserves anything positive.
"She is very passionate about politics
. She’s mortified that America would think anyone in her family was right wing.
"(But) Josh is not backing down
. The chance to work with (director) Oliver Stone is a tremendous break for Josh."

Actress MO’NIQUE IMES has hit out at claims made by her ex-fiance that she smokes and deals drugs and once threatened to have him killed.
Marvin Dawson, 28, dated the 40-year-old star of U.S. TV show The Parkers until she ditched him in 2003 because of his criminal record that included theft, gun and drug possession charges.
But Dawson claims Imes is a hypocrite, telling the National Enquirer, "Not only was she an avid marijuana user, but she also did cocaine. And what’s worse, she began making money dealing coke." Dawson also accuses her of tax evasion and adds that when they broke up, "Mo’Nique threatened my life. She said if I ever told anyone about her lifestyle, she’d hire someone to kill me." Dawson claims he is planning to write a book about his life with the star.
But Imes’ lawyer Warren Brown has hit back: "Marvin Dawson has no credibility - he’s a nut.
"If she was dealing in kilos of cocaine, the DEA (drugs enforcement agency) should have her on their suspects list. See if they have anything on her.
That’s dumb."

Former AMERICAN IDOL winner RUBEN STUDDARD is suing a concert promoter for breach of contract.
In legal papers filed in New York Supreme Court, Studdard is seeking $45,000 (£22,500) in damages from Dallas, Texas-based firm Peaches Inc., reports TMZ.com.
The lawsuit comes just one month after Studdard was dropped by his label, J Records, after failing to match the success of his 2003 debut album, Soulful.

COLIN FARRELL was left with a real black eye after challenging ROSARIO DAWSON to a fight on the set of 2004 movie ALEXANDER.
The pair were shooting a battle scene, and Farrell asked Dawson to make it as realistic as possible.

AMY WINEHOUSE’s record label has put the success of her hit album BACK TO BLACK down to the increased media frenzy surrounding the singer’s turbulent personal life.
The Rehab star’s sophomore album was named the world’s biggest-selling record from a British artist in 2007, shifting more than 3.4 million albums across the globe for Winehouse’s record label Universal Music International.
The 24-year-old has also enjoyed huge success in the notoriously difficult American market, scooping nominations in six categories at the 50th annual Grammy Awards next month (Feb08).
But label bosses have taken a swipe at the troubled singer’s success, claiming cleverly-executed marketing tactics are the real reason for the high sales.
Hassan Choudhury, vice president of Universal Music International, says, "There’s no getting away from the fact all the coverage has kept Amy Winehouse’s profile at the highest level.
"Everyone (at Universal) is extremely happy with the amount of records we’ve sold and a lot of it has been down to some amazing marketing opportunities in the market when the artist wasn’t available." Winehouse checked into a London rehabilitation facility last week (25Jan08) in a bid to conquer her drug demons.

The Better Life singer, 40, let slip at a press conference last year (07) that he refers to The Golden Compass actress by the alias of Evie, with Kidman calling the musician Hank in return.
