GARCIA PULLED BLOG OVER SECURITY FEARS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:33 pm

LOST star JORGE GARCIA was forced to pull the plug on his Internet blog because his bosses feared he’d give away the show’s plot.
Production on the programme is shrouded in secrecy, prompting die-hard fans to scour Garcia’s online diary for clues.
But the 34-year-old’s blog was soon cancelled.
Garcia - who plays Hugo ‘Hurley’ Reyes on the hit show - says, "I started a blog at one point, and it kind of scared people involved with the show.
"Anything that I’d write, they knew that people would read into it and try to figure out what it meant."

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:33 pm

Hollywood star DIANE KEATON is launching her own range of furniture.
The actress has been fascinated with design since childhood, when her dad introduced her to the California architecture that inspired her new creations.
The 61-year-old says of her new venture, "I’ve never done anything like this before. I’ve really enjoyed trying to imagine how the California indoor/outdoor lifestyle could be mass-produced.
"The furniture that I’m interested in is what I’ve collected in the past Monterey furniture. Monterey furniture is indigenous to Southern California. It was made and created in the late 1920s.
"My father worked for the Department of Power and Water and when I was a little girl we’d go to downtown Los Angeles and it was like a stunning wonderland to me." The veteran star recently paid tribute to her passion for classic Californian architecture in a new photo book featuring classic Spanish homes. The coffee table book is titled California Romantica.

  • DEEP-THINKING COTILLARD’S CHILDHOOD TRAUMA

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:32 pm

Oscar nominee MARION COTILLARD sunk into such a deep depression at the tender age of nine, because she "didn’t want to live" any longer.
The La Vie En Rose star questioned her purpose in life at a very early age and Cotillard admits the truths she exposed along the way left her wishing she was never born.
She says, "I really started to ask myself, ‘What am I doing here? What are human beings doing here?’ I so wanted to understand, and I didn’t.
"What I (wanted) in my mind was something like a perfect world, with a perfect understanding of everything. I thought that people were logical about life and respect and love. And when I started realising it was not that way at all, I felt I didn’t want to live." However, she’s quick to clarify that suicide was never an option: "Oh, no, I deeply love life, but I started searching quite early."

  • BRANDO’S EX SUES OVER RIGHTS TO ESTATE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:29 pm

LATEST: CHRISTIAN BRANDO’s ex-wife is suing the late actor’s lawyers over money she claims she is owed - just days after her former spouse passed away.
Marlon Brando’s eldest son died on Saturday (26Jan08) morning at a Los Angeles Hospital after suffering from pneumonia. He was 49.
But Christian’s former wife Deborah Brando has wasted no time in filing suit against the executors of Marlon Brando’s estate.
In legal papers filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Monday (28Jan08), Deborah claims she was made assignee of her ex-husband’s rights in the Marlon Brando Living Trust February 2007, as part of a settlement deal with Brando in a domestic violence case.
She is alleging professional negligence, conspiracy, fraud and deceit, after reportedly discovering in December (07) that the estate’s executors had altered it by forging Marlon’s signature to try and con her out of money and property owed to her.
The lawsuit reads: "The will was forged … designed to separate and alienate (Deborah Brando) from others in Marlon Brando’s close and extended family, friends, and business acquaintances, and to keep them from challenging the will or trust." She is seeking an unspecified amount in damages.
Meanwhile, an autopsy is scheduled to take place on Tuesday (29Jan08) to find out the exact cause of death upon request of the Brando family.
Los Angeles County coroner’s Lieutenant Fred Corral said the family asked for the autopsy "based on his past drug history".

  • PARTON STALLS LIFE STORY MOVIE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:27 pm

DOLLY PARTON has written a musical based on her life - but has no plans to have it made until she’s lived a little more.
The country legend, who celebrated her 61st birthday this month (Jan08), hasn’t finished her story yet - so the musical she dreamed up will have to wait.
Parton explains, "I’ve written a musical of my life story.
"I’ve pretty much got it all written. I’m hoping that possibly I may do that as a movie. Then somebody else can take it later and put it on Broadway.
"I want it to be the right time. I’m still living it, so I don’t want to tell my life story yet. I thought it was a little premature." (IG/IV/MT) WENN - FIFTH - HOLLYWOOD, SHOWBIZ & PEOPLE NEWS - 29 JANUARY 2008

  • MOBY’S POOR STREET PERFORMANCE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:27 pm

Dance star MOBY hit the streets of west London on Monday evening (28Jan08) to put on an impromptu sidewalk show for fans - but his turn as a street performer only earned him $10 (£5) in tips.
The Honey hitmaker - real name Richard Melville Hall - was joined by singer Joy Malcolm in the British capital’s Sloane Square for a performance of his greatest hits.
But the 40-minute set, which was filmed as a stunt for British TV programme The Culture Show, didn’t prove to be a money-maker for Moby.
He says, "At the most I was given maybe £5 or £6, but that’s fine because I was obviously not doing it for the money.
"When I was at university I used to busk (perform on the streets) all the time to make money to buy liquor."

  • SPEARS FALLS OUT WITH ‘MANAGER’ LUTFI

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 7:48 pm

BRITNEY SPEARS has fallen out with her longtime companion/manager SAM LUTFI after the pair broke into a screaming match outside her Hollywood mansion on Monday night (28Jan08).
Spears was seen arguing with Lutfi while sitting in his parked car at the front gate of the private Los Angeles community The Summit. She later emerged from the vehicle in tears and sat on the street curb for 20 minutes, before calling her on/off boyfriend, paparazzo Adnan Ghalib, to pick her up.
But Ghalib was denied entrance to the complex by the gate’s guards, after they were reportedly instructed by Lutfi to keep the British-born photographer out.
He reportedly text messaged Lutfi to find out why he wasn’t being granted access to the estate, to which Lutfi responded by telling him to leave, insisting his presence in Spears’ life was going to "kill" the troubled star.
Lutfi’s message, captured by Hollywood.tv, reads, "You need to cease all contact with her completely. I’ve tried to work with you helping her but you didn’t do as asked. Only way to help now is disappear. She’s never been this way before." But in a statement released by Ghalib through his photo agency employers Finalpixx, he explains: "The truth is that Sam Lutfi started an argument with Britney and the two ended up in a screaming fight.
"Sam continued to verbally abuse Britney as she sat barefoot on the curb at her Summit home crying holding her dog London.
"Britney called Adnan for help and he heard the distress in her voice and drove to the Summit immediately. While outside the gates he was denied access as Sam Lutfi had informed the guards that he was not allowed entry. When Adnan then tried to call Britney it seems that Sam had turned all of her cell phones off." And the dramatic events of Monday night continued when police were called to Spears’ residence around 7pm after a neighbour reported a swam of paparazzi were "stepping onto the grounds" of the private community, according to Los Angeles police officer Mike Lopez.

British actor TIMOTHY STETSON has been killed in a fire in a Los Angeles apartment. He was 53.

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 7:48 pm

LINDSAY LOHAN’s friends have defended the actress against reports she has lapsed in her battle with booze - insisting she is in control of her drinking.
The actress is on a pledge to stay sober after a spell in rehab last year (07), following two DUI incidents which resulted in a brief stint in jail.
She relapsed while in Italy on New Year’s Eve (31Dec07) - and was spotted drinking cocktails in New York at the weekend (26Jan08).
But pals insist she wasn’t drunk, telling the New York Daily News, "Lindsay is learning how to work through her addictions and, once in a while, she chooses to have a cocktail. People over-exaggerate her behaviour when in fact on Friday night, many people commented to her on how composed she was." After her New Year drinking session, her lawyer Blair Berk said: "After being handed a champagne bottle while on a dance floor in Italy on New Year’s Eve and drinking from it, the good news is that Lindsay stopped herself, called her sponsor, and got herself back on track.
"There is no magic cure here. The most unfortunate part of this is that Lindsay has to share her ‘one day at a time’ with the entire world."

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 7:44 pm

Bosses at U.S. TV network NBC Universal are taking LAW & ORDER creator DICK WOLF to court in a dispute over how much he is paid.
Executive producer Wolf - responsible for the original legal drama and its spin-offs Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Law & Order: Criminal Intent is arguing his contract guarantees him a certain fee or payment for producing 48 extra episodes of Law & Order, even though NBC has decided not to continue airing the show.
But NBC bosses claim they made no such agreement and their lawsuit - filed late last week (ends25Jan08) with the Los Angeles Superior Court - asks the court to clarify the contract signed by both the firm and Wolf.
Pam Rubem Golum, a spokeswoman for Wolf, says, "NBC Universal is trying to rewrite an existing contract." Law & Order is the second-longest running drama in U.S. TV history, after the 20-year run of Western series Gunsmoke.
