Troubled rocker PETE DOHERTY has pulled out of a solo gig in the U.K. just 24 hours before it was due to take place.
The Babyshambles frontman is currently working on his first solo album - and was scheduled to perform at the Fez club in Reading, Berkshire, to test out some of his new material.
But the venue has been forced to cancel the event, which was scheduled for Wednesday (30Jan08), and apologise to fans after Doherty reportedly decided to scrap the gig at the last minute.
A posting on the Fez website reads, "Due to factors out of our control, we unfortunately have had to cancel this event. We apologise for any inconvenience." Doherty - whose drug habit forced him to leave former band The Libertines in 2004 - has yet to decide on a title for the forthcoming record, which is due for completion later this year (08).
