FLATTERED LAKE INSISTS ‘THERE’S NO ROMANCE WITH MAYER’
RICKI LAKE has laughed off rumours of a fling with single singer JOHN MAYER but confessed she loved reports of a romance with a heart-throb 10 years her junior.
The pair were linked after being spotted chatting at a music industry Christmas party in New York in December (07).
A newspaper suggested love was in the air, and Mayer, 29, later confessed he had had a longterm crush on the former TV talk show host.
He said, "When you meet someone that you’ve had a crush on when you were a kid, you go, ‘Hey! I’ve had a crush on you since I was a kid.’" But 39-year-old Lake insists nothing happened between them. She tells Larry King, "There is no relationship. I met him and he was real cute. That’s it.
"I met him at a party. It’s amazing the media kind of gets in - like they see you somewhere. Literally, I am more intimate with you right now than I was with him, seriously. Now we’ll be an item. Tell your wife, I just shook your hand."
