The subject of PLAIN WHITE T’S hit HEY THERE DELILAH is so thrilled with her pop chart name check, she has agreed to accompany singer TOM HIGGENSON is to the Grammy Awards next month (Feb08).
Higgenson was driven to write the 2007 chart anthem after falling for athlete Delilah DiCrescenzo when they met in Chicago, Illinois in 2003.
And, after Hey There Delilah was nominated for two Grammys in December (07) Song Of The Year and Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group - Higgenson built up his courage and finally asked DiCrescenzo out on a high-profile date.
He says, "It’s kind of weird, because we still don’t really know each other.
I don’t think it’ll be awkward, but it’ll be interesting.
"I’ve never been on a date that has been this high-profile." The 2008 Grammy Awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on 10 February (08) in Los Angeles.

PORTISHEAD and THE VERVE are to give this year’s (08) Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in the California desert a British flavour after confirming headlining slots.
The two groups join The Raconteurs, Jack Johnson, The Breeders and Rilo Kiley among the early confirmations for the three-day festival in April (08).
Portishead’s performance will be the group’s first U.S. show in almost a decade, while the reformed The Verve’s appearance will be their first in America since The Drugs Don’t Work hitmakers split in 1999.

LATEST: Music mogul SIMON COWELL has changed his mind about BRITNEY SPEARS he’s convinced she’s "in control" and is callously manipulating the media.
Cowell spoke out in support of the troubled singer after her much-publicised meltdown earlier this month (Jan08).
He even offered to speak directly with her, describing her as "out of control" following her stand-off with police, when she refused to hand over her two sons to their father Kevin Federline.
But Cowell has followed Spears’ antics since, and is now sure she is deliberately misbehaving.
He tells PageSix.com, "Everyone thinks it’s breakdown this and breakdown that. From the kind of stunts she’s pulling now, I think she is the puppet master and completely in control.
"I really felt for her at one point, I thought she was heading for a meltdown and everything was out of control, but, especially over the past week, I thought she was honestly in control and, more to the point, wants to be in control.
"If you don’t want to get any press attention, just keep your head down, don’t drive yourself anywhere and sit in the back of blacked-out limousine. But if she thinks she knows what she is doing, then good luck to her."

DANE COOK as hit back at his GOOD LUCK CHUCK co-star JESSICA ALBA’s claims he turned the movie’s set into a porn shoot.
Alba claimed Cook and other male cast and crew members tricked female extras into shooting unnecessary sex scenes for their own titillation. She said, "It’s porn. There were all these actresses who got conned into being completely naked." But Cook insists Alba has overreacted, telling MTV, "First of all, we all read the script. We did what we read. I guess she’s watching some really silly-ass porn.
"Not a day went by that we weren’t in communication with each other and having a blast.
"I haven’t spoken to her about whatever she may have said. Personally, I think she’s incredible."

KEIRA KNIGHTLEY’s romantic epic ATONEMENT is leading the way at the Evening Standard British Film Awards with seven nominations.
Knightley goes up against her co-star Romola Garai for the Best Actress award, while James McAvoy - who plays her love interest - is nominated in the Best Actor category.
Atonement is shortlisted for Best Film as well as Best Screenplay for writer Christopher Hampton. The 2007 picture also has nods in the Technical Achievement category for costume design.
Joining Knightley in the Best Actress category is Helena Bonham Carter, who is nominated for Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street and for her role in Conversations With Other Women; Julie Christie, in Away From Her; Samantha Morton, in Control; and Tilda Swinton, in Michael Clayton.
In the Best Actor category, McAvoy will go up against Jamie Bell, in Hallam Foe; Jim Broadbent, in And When Did You Last See Your Father; Daniel Day-Lewis, in There Will Be Blood; Gabriel Byrne, in Jindabyne; and Sam Riley, Control.
Atonement will vie for the Best Picture award along with Blue Blood, Control, Hallam Foe and It’s A Free World. The other nominees for Best Screenplay include Matt Greenhalgh, Control; Ronald Harwood, The Diving Bell And The Butterfly; Neil Hunter and Tom Husinger, Sparkle; Steven Knight, Amazing Grace and Eastern Promises; Paul Laverty, It’s a Free World; and Harold Pinter, Sleuth.

TERRENCE HOWARD’s 12-year-old daughter has landed a role alongside her dad in the forthcoming Broadway adaptation of CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF.
Wannabe actress Heaven will play one of the "no neck monsters" - nieces and nephews - in the Tennessee Williams play, being produced by Stephen Byrd.
Heaven will make her acting debut, starring alongside her dad, James Earl Jones and Phylicia Rashid.

Monster movie CLOVERFIELD destroyed the opposition to top of the U.S. box office chart.
The film, about a reptile that devastates New York City, debuted with takings of $41 million (£20.5 million) in its opening weekend (19-20Jan08).
Romantic comedy 27 Dresses came in second with $22.4 million (£11.2 million), followed by The Bucket List with $15.2 million (£7.6 million).
Caper movie Mad Money - starring Diane Keaton, Katie Holmes and Queen Latifah - opened in a disappointing seventh place, with a lowkey $7.7 million (£3.85 million).

Hollywood star NICOLAS CAGE’s life became a waking nightmare in his twenties after he became addicted to experimenting with hard drugs.
The 44-year-old was thrown into a downward spiral of depression after he began taking illegal substances - but his desire for new experiences drove him to continue his drug use.
He says, "Drugs make every single nightmare you ever had come true. In my twenties I went through a period of drinking and drug-taking. It didn’t make me happy but I wanted to experience them to know how they would make me feel.
"I never went to rehab, I never went through any form of AA (Alcoholics Anonymous). I went through years of experimenting and then hit the realisation that it just didn’t work for me."

DIANE KEATON’s first stage experience was a frightening one, she was drugged with a stimulant so she’d perform with more energy.
Keaton cut her acting teeth in 1968 as one of the original New York cast of rock musical Hair. As it was her first acting job, the then 22-year-old didn’t question the show doctor administering stimulant shots to castmembers before each performance.
She says, "At the time it was astonishing to have a job.
"It was odd. Before the show opened we got a shot by a doctor Bishop. I vitamin shot, only it was not vitamins. It was like methamphetamines. You were flying. A lot of people got addicted."

The cast of SEX AND THE CITY had all signed contracts to appear in the movie version before the hit show had even finished its TV run.
Kristen Davis, who will revive her role as Charlotte York in the big screen version of the programme, admits the film was given the go ahead before they knew the series was coming to an end - but was delayed due to problems with the script.
It had been rumoured the delay in taking the show to the silver screen was down to a rift between the four lead actresses - Sarah Jessica Parker, Kirsten Davis, Cynthia Nixon and Kim Cattrall - and arguments over money.
But Davis insists the cast had always intended to make the movie - they just had to wait for the show’s producer, Michael Patrick King, to have a second script approved.
She says, "We had a contract to do the film even before the show ended and we were all so sad when it didn’t happen. Now Michael has written another script.
He wants Sex and the City to be now, so it is very much set in 2008 - three years later in their lives."

JUNO star ELLEN PAGE is glad her parents refused to let her move to Hollywood as she feared going off the rails like former child star LINDSAY LOHAN.
The young actress was offered a role in a high profile U.S. sitcom at the age of 13 but her parents insisted she was too young to handle the pressures of fame and forced her to turn it down.
But Page, now 20, insists her family were right and the move not only kept her grounded, but also saved her career because she went on to land a series of acclaimed roles.
She says, "It’s a good thing. I would have had to move to LA and I can’t even imagine what I would be like now. They (her parents) said keep up your grades and then you can act." Page’s portrayal of a pregnant teenager who gives her baby up for adoption in Juno earned her a nominated for Best Actress at this month’s (Jan08) Golden Globes Awards.

The Murder On The Dancefloor star had been dating The Feeling bassist Richard Jones for just two months when she fell pregnant with their first child, Sonny, now three. British rap star DIZZEE RASCAL has big ambitions outside his music career - he aims to have at least 10 children.
The 22-year-old - real name Dylan Mills - wants to settle down and start a family, but is unsure if he wants all his kids to have the same mother. MOBB DEEP star PRODIGY’s upcoming album H.N.I.C. 2 will be released in 14,000 languages - with the aid of groundbreaking translation technology.
The rapper - real name Albert Johnson - will oversee the project along with Vox Music Group, whose company Voxonic will use a 10-minute voice sample from Prodigy and a foreign-language translator to create a completely translated song.
He says, "I remember when Mobb Deep was going overseas to Paris in 1995. The fans were saying our lyrics in the seats but backstage they couldn’t understand us. They couldn’t understand what our lyrics were really saying. "So when I heard about Voxonic, I knew this is going to change the world."

Raekwon claims they are missing out on a whole generation of hip-hop enthusiasts, because their wealth and success has alienated them from ordinary people.

Singer-turned-TV star CILLA BLACK is convinced she should have warned her friend SIR PAUL MCCARTNEY against marrying his now estranged wife HEATHER MILLS.
The veteran entertainer is sure the Beatles legend rushed into his marriage to Mills because he was still grieving for his first wife Linda - who died of breast cancer in 1998.
Black, 64, was wary about the union but resisted offering McCartney her opinion on Mills because she feared he wouldn’t heed her advice.
She says, "If you’re totally besotted with somebody - as Paul was with Heather - you don’t want a third party telling you what to do.
"I do advise most of my friends. But not Paul. Mind you, if he’d asked I’d have said what I thought. I’d have told him he had to make his own mistakes.

"But I might have suggested (to Paul) that perhaps he should listen to what his family were saying." Mills and McCartney - who split in May 2006 after four years of marriage are currently locked in a bitter divorce battle and are due to appear in court to continue negotiations in February (08).

The wife of British photographer ADNAN GHALIB has launched a furious tirade against his on/off girlfriend BRITNEY SPEARS.
AzLynne Berry, 28, insists she and Ghalib were still a couple when the snapper began dating the troubled pop star.
The model-turned-beautician is devastated that her husband has been romantically linked to the singer and suspects he may be using the star to boost his career.
She tells U.S. TV show Access Hollywood, "We were living together as man and wife when he started romancing Britney. I believed he was purely working and was trying to win her confidence for a photoshoot.
"He’s broken my heart and I haven’t stopped crying for two weeks. She’s as much a mug as I was if she says she believes him when he says he loves her.
"I know Adnan has a reputation as a womaniser but he’s a handsome guy and American girls love his English accent.
"He has a way that can make a girl feel like a million dollars. But Britney should be careful." Berry goes on to rubbish rumours that Ghalib is planning on marrying Spears.
She adds, "The only way he’ll marry her is over my dead body. He’s living on the same fantasy planet as her if they think they’ll be walking down the aisle any time soon." The British snapper has been a constant presence by Spears’ side in recent weeks, but the pair have recently been rocked by rumours of a split and it was even reported that Spears had taken out a restraining order against him - a fact that Ghalib vehemently denies.

KORN singer JONATHAN DAVIS forced himself to swear off alcohol - because his bandmates couldn’t bear to be near him while he was drinking.
The rocker - who has been sober for nearly ten years - finally realised his substance abuse needed to be curbed when the rest of his metal band turned against him. Recalling his last sip of liquor, he says, "I was drunk on August 22, 1998 that was the last time. I remember that I was in a very f**ked up place. "All my band hated me, I had to have a person watch me 24/7 because that’s how ridiculous I was. "So I just quit. I had my last drink in Atlanta, George, it was a Jack Daniel’s and Coke, and I had my last cigarette, and I haven’t touched them since."
