OSCAR FAVOURITES LEAD PGA NOMINATIONS
Oscar Best Film favourites THERE WILL BE BLOOD and NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN will compete for the 19th annual Producers Guild Awards in Hollywood next month (Feb08).
Juno, The Diving Bell & The Butterfly and surprise choice Michael Clayton complete the list of five nominees.
Golden Globe Awards film winners Atonement and Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street have been shut out of the PGAs, which are scheduled to take place on 2 February (08).
Bee Movie, Golden Globe winner Ratatouille and The Simpsons Movie will compete for the Best Animated category, while Body of War, Pete Seeger: The Power of Song, Sicko, Hear & Now and White Light/Black Rain: The Destruction of Hiroshima & Nagasaki will fight for the Best Documentary prize.
In The TV category, Entourage, Extras, The Office, Ugly Betty and 30 Rock have been nominated for the Best Episodic Comedy category, while Grey’s Anatomy, Dexter, Heroes, House, The Sopranos and Lost will fight for the Best Episodic Drama award.
And Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee, High School Musical 2, sports series The Bronx is Burning, Jane Eyre and The Starter Wife are the nominees for the David L. Wolper Producer of The Year Award in long-form television.
