LATEST: French president NICOLAS SARKOZY and fiancee CARLA BRUNI are expecting their first child.
The news comes just days after Sarkozy, 52, told a press conference Tuesday (08Jan08) of his engagement to the Italian supermodel, who he reportedly met just weeks after divorcing his ex-wife Celia.
The pair has been dating for less than two months and are said to be planning to wed next month on 9 February (08), although the President has hinted he will marry in a secret ceremony.
He told reporters of the impending nuptials, "There is a strong chance that you will learn about it once it’s already been done." Sarkozy has three children from two previous marriages, while 40-year-old Bruni - who has had romances with Mick Jagger and Eric Clapton - also has a six-year-old son from a past relationship.
