LIL’ WAYNE DENIES BEING TAKEN HOSTAGE
LIL’ WAYNE has denied rumours he was taken hostage following a concert in Chicago.
The rapper - real name Dwayne Michael Carter Jr. - was reported to have been assaulted and held along with his manager Cortez Bryant after a gig at the Premier Entertainment Center on 29 December (07).
The incident was said to have occurred when he failed to appear at an after show party.
However, Bryant has denied the hostage-taking ever took place. He tells AllHipHop.com, "That is just a rumour. We never got held hostage at all." Big Ming, CEO of Ming’s Dynasty Records, the promoters who organised the show, echoed Bryant’s statement, saying, "Some of it is an exaggeration, but the fundamental parts of it is true.
"We paid Lil’ Wayne to do an after party, along with Ark Entertainment. He didn’t make it to the after party. So I wanted a refund. "So representatives just went to his hotel and just requested the money. So, they came up with the money. So it was all good. Nobody really got roughed up or nothing like that."
