British movie heartthrob and UNICEF International Ambassador ORLANDO BLOOM has paid a visit to a Nepalese school.
The Pirates of the Caribbean star sported traditional garlands and a red ‘tikka’ mark on his forehead as he played with kids at the Sayapatri Community Organization in the village of Dibyanagar.
He visited Nepal to observe a UNICEF (United Nations Children’s Fund)-sponsored building where child support activities are held, and also met with staff and health educators during his trip.

JESSICA ALBA is fuming over gossip blogger PEREZ HILTON’s claims she is ashamed of her Latin heritage.
Hilton has targetted the Mexican-American actress on his website, dubbing her Jessica ‘Don’t call me Latina’ Alba.
But the pregnant Sin City actress insists Hilton is picking on her because she wouldn’t have her picture taken with him.
Alba says, "It was all because I wouldn’t take photos with him at a nightclub. It would probably be smart for me to hang out and kiss up to what’s his name, Perez.
"Of course I’m proud of my heritage. That’s all I know. I only know a Mexican-American upbringing."

JESSICA ALBA has accused the male stars of GOOD LUCK CHUCK of turning the movie’s set into a "porn" shoot, by tricking female actresses into stripping for unnecessary sex scenes.
Alba claims she fled the studio set each night, to escape the debauched behaviour of Dane Cook and his male co-stars, who would end each day by filming two sex scenes that would never make the film.
She says, "It’s porn. There were all these actresses who got conned into being completely naked. Some were strippers, probably. But every day when I was done, I ran away. I was like, ‘Bye.’ As long as they didn’t disrespect me, I could give a rat’s butt."

Pregnant actress HALLE BERRY will help raise money for a domestic violence charity with a round of golf.
The Catwoman star will hold a celebrity golf tournament at Mountain Gate Country Club in Los Angeles in April (08) with all funds going to the Jenesse Center, a programme providing support and shelter to those affected by the crime.
She says, "April 28, 2008 will be a day of great fun as we raise much needed funds to help families victimised by domestic violence.
"Working together we can stop the violence. I am looking forward to golfing with you. Let’s have a great time." And the charity is a cause close to Berry’s heart - she once told of her relationship with her abusive father Jerome.

BRITNEY SPEARS must attend a court hearing in Los Angeles on Monday (14Jan08) if she wants to continue fighting for custody of her kids with ex-husband KEVIN FEDERLINE, according to reports.
The troubled pop star put her custody battle in jeopardy last week (03Jan08) when she refused to hand back her two sons to Federline following a scheduled visit. Her actions sparked a three-hour stand-off with police outside her Beverly Hills home, and resulted in the singer being hospitalised for two days at L.A.’s Cedars-Sinai Medical Center to undergo a mental evaluation.
Following the dramatic incident, Federline was awarded sole legal and physical custody of sons Sean Preston, two, and Jayden James, one, while Spears was handed a temporary restraining order against her ex.
But the two parties will face each other in court on Monday, when a judge will decide whether to restore the singer’s visitation rights.
During the hearing, Commissioner Scott Gordon will hear eyewitness accounts of last Thursday’s (03Jan08) events from members of the emergency services, who all attended the scene of the incident.
And TMZ.com claims Spears must show her complete co-operation if she wants to salvage her custody case and win back her kids.
Meanwhile, Federline’s attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, made a formal request for a copy of the full police report during a brief hearing on Thursday (10Jan08).

TV stuntman STEVE-O has been named People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals’ Best New Fur Foe in the organisation’s second annual Libby Awards.
The Jackass star was voted an anti-fur hero by members of PETA’s offshoot peta2, the world’s largest youth animal rights organisation.
The Libby Awards honour animal-friendly people and products.
Steve-O recently shot two naked anti-fur ads for peta2.

Folk-rocker DEVANDRA BERNHART has been forced out of his dream home in Topanga Canyon, California by a crazed fan who thought he was JESUS CHRIST.
The singer-songwriter felt the need to move from his "beautiful" retreat after the devotee attacked a woman who was living with him.
Bernhart tells Mojo magazine, "Somebody came over and attacked this female friend that was staying because he thought he was Jesus, and he wanted to save her.
"Jesus told him to come to the house where we live, because of some song I wrote.
"I’ve always opened my doors to anybody, based on the kindness that I received when I was homeless. But when they violently attack friends, it’s time to leave."

RUSSELL SIMMONS’ estranged wife KIMORA LEE SIMMONS will bare all in a new advertising campaign for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).
The model-turned-fashion designer is the latest star to strip off for the animal rights group’s cause, following in the footsteps of fellow animal lovers Eva Mendes, Alicia Silverstone and Pamela Anderson.
Simmons’ appearance forms part of the new Be An Angel for Dogs campaign, which is being led by the organisation’s youth branch, peta2. In the poster, Simmons can be seen holding her rescued dog Zoe and wearing nothing but a pair of angel wings, reports AllHipHop.com.
PETA’s Director of Media Relations, Michael McGraw, says, "Kimora was a delight to work with, the consummate professional and her compassion for dogs is a big part of her life.
"She has rescued numerous dogs off the street and her message is an important one: never leave a dog chained outside. It’s important to bring them in and make them members of the family." The campaign, which is due to be launched later this month (Jan08), is set to coincide with the U.S. Unchain a Dog Month.

LATEST: The surgeon who operated on KANYE WEST’s mother DONDA has welcomed the coroner’s report into her death, insisting the findings confirm his innocence.
Dr. Donda West, 58, passed away on 10 November (07), one day after she underwent cosmetic breast reduction, tummy tuck and liposuction procedures.
But according to the autopsy report filed by the Los Angeles coroner on Thursday (10Jan08), West died of heart disease and "multiple post-operative factors", although an exact cause of death is unknown. However, the coroner claimed West did not die as a result of "surgical or anaesthetic misadventure".
And Dr. Jan Adams, the plastic surgeon who had been accused by some of wrongdoing, is relieved the report clears his name.
In a statement, Adams says, "The coroner’s report confirms what we have always believed.
"I hold sacred the bond of confidentiality that exists between a patient and doctor according to the law. Our deepest sympathies continue with the West family and we stand behind our decision to support them during these difficult times." And Adams is refusing to discuss the matter any further, adding: "Until further discussions with the West family, we have no additional comment."

Shamed Olympic sprinter MARION JONES has been sentenced to serve six months in prison The athlete appeared in court in White Plains, New York on Friday morning (11Jan08) to face sentencing for fraud and lying about her steroid use to federal investigators.
As well as jail time, Jones will also serve community service upon her release. Jones pleaded guilty to two counts of fraud in October (07).
