STARS LINE UP FOR NEW SPIELBERG FILM
A host of A-list stars including KEVIN SPACEY and WILL SMITH are vying for a part in STEVEN SPIELBERG’s new movie THE TRIAL OF THE CHICAGO 7.
The film is due to go into production later this year (08) once Spielberg finishes promotional commitments for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, which is due for release this summer (08).
The cast list has yet to be finalised and the only actor to have been signed for the picture is British comic Sacha Baron Cohen, who will star as 60s hippie satirist Abbie Hoffman.
But according to U.S. magazine Vanity Fair, Spacey, Smith, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Taye Diggs and Alan Arkin have all shown interest in appearing in the movie, which tells the story of the conspiracy trial which grew out of protests at the 1968 Democratic convention.
