The ‘Pretty Woman’ star took time out of her movie-making schedule to become a mother, but insists she is not planning on giving up her career for good.
Julia said: ‘Let’s get a couple of things straight. It hasn’t been years and years since I made a movie. I’m not coming back from the dead - I’ve just had two kids! ‘I have no intention of retiring, but I do think it’s impossible to do movie after movie, because there aren’t that many good films made. But I already have an acting project set for this year. I start shooting ‘Duplicity’ with Clive Owen in the spring.’ The 40-year-old actress has three children with her cameraman husband Danny Moder - three year-old twins Hazel and Phinneaus and six-month-old Henry - and thinks it is important to find a balance between her professional and personal lives.
Speaking about her latest film ‘Charlie Wilson’s War’, Julia added: ‘We shot a lot of the film in Los Angeles and I could get home to the kids when I wanted to.
‘That’s important, and I can’t deny I’ve taken a longer break from acting these past two years, but I didn’t feel like I was missing anything. I did a play and found other ways to fulfil my creative impulses.

The troubled singer - who was taken to Los Angeles’ Cedars-Sinai Medical Center strapped to a stretcher on Thursday night (03.01.08) - left the medical facility on Saturday (05.01.08) shortly after being visited by daytime US talk show host ‘Dr. Phil’ McGraw.
McGraw said: ‘She was released moments before my arrival and was packing when I entered the room. I visited her for around an hour before I walked with her to her car. I am very concerned for her.’ The TV star - who attempts to help people with psychologically problems on his hugely popular programme - also revealed he was convinced Britney, 26, was in ‘dire need of both medical and psychological intervention’.
The ‘Toxic’ singer was taken to hospital following a three-hour stand-off with police which began at 8pm on Thursday after she refused to return her sons, two-year-old Sean Preston and one-year-old Jayden James, to ex-husband Kevin Federline. When officers arrived at the residence they found Britney to be ‘under the influence of an unknown substance’.
The hospital has so far refused to reveal why the pop star was admitted, citing patient confidentiality.
Following the incident, Kevin has been awarded sole custody of Sean Preston and Jayden James.
Court commissioner Scott Gordon made the ruling on Friday (04.01.08), suspending all of Britney’s visitation rights.
Kevin previously had temporary custody of the children. Another hearing has been set for 14 January.

CHARLIZE THERON’s ailing grandmother has issued an emotional plea to the actress to get in touch with her father’s side of the family - because it is her biggest regret.
Theron, a native of South Africa, cut all ties with her dad Charles’ family in 1991, after he was shot by her mother in self defence when he returned home drunk one night and threatened to kill her and Charlize.
Soon after the tragic incident, Charlize moved to the U.S. to launch a career as an actress.
Her paternal grandma, Bettie, wishes she could just have one more chance to see the grandchild she never really got to know, and has written numerous letters to the star in the hope of getting a reply.
She says, "Things were never the same after that dark night. I still mourn my son’s death and I grieve for my famous granddaughter who refuses to know me." Theron’s mother, Gerda, was never prosecuted over the shooting.

Pregnant pop star LILY ALLEN has overcome her nicotine addiction - with a little help from a hypnotist.

SIR ANTHONY HOPKINS is planning a move back to his native Wales - after almost 20 years living in sunny California.

But after celebrating his 70th birthday in his home country with old friends and family on New Year’s Eve (31Dec07), he realised how much he really wanted to return.
A guest at Hopkins’ lavish birthday party in West Glamorgan’s Margam Castle says, "Anthony was moved to tears by the whole thing, not least by the Welsh male voice choir, which had all of us going.
"He told us that while he liked waking up to sunshine most days at his place in Malibu, he missed Wales more as he got older, and he plans to start looking for a house here."

Hollywood actress HALLE BERRY has defended her disastrous role in CATWOMAN, claiming it’s impossible for actors to predict how a movie will turn out.
The 2004 movie was heavily criticised by reviewers and won four Golden Raspberry Awards in 2005 for Worst Picture, Worst Director, Worst Screenplay and Worst Actress - which Berry collected in person.
Catwoman also bombed at the box office, grossing just $42 million (£21 million) - less than half of its original budget.
However, Berry - who subsequently won an Oscar in 2005 for Monster’s Ball remains positive about the experience, joking that it was "one of the best movies ever". But she insists she couldn’t have predicted the film would flop.
She says, "It was definitely different from any other (movie) I had seen. I thought that we needed a better villain, but I was outnumbered in that area.
"You just never know how people are going to respond. I thought that Monster’s Ball was going to end my career. And look what happened. You just never know."

A host of A-list stars including KEVIN SPACEY and WILL SMITH are vying for a part in STEVEN SPIELBERG’s new movie THE TRIAL OF THE CHICAGO 7.
The film is due to go into production later this year (08) once Spielberg finishes promotional commitments for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, which is due for release this summer (08).
The cast list has yet to be finalised and the only actor to have been signed for the picture is British comic Sacha Baron Cohen, who will star as 60s hippie satirist Abbie Hoffman.
But according to U.S. magazine Vanity Fair, Spacey, Smith, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Taye Diggs and Alan Arkin have all shown interest in appearing in the movie, which tells the story of the conspiracy trial which grew out of protests at the 1968 Democratic convention.

Entertainer ROY HORN and his illusionist partner SIEGFRIED FISCHBACHER are to return to the stage in a daring new show - four years after Horn was savaged by a tiger live in a Las Vegas show.
Horn, 63, suffered a stroke after the white tiger attack in October 2003, which left him partially paralysed.
But despite his disability, Horn insists he and Fischbacher are ready to make their Las Vegas comeback with an updated version of their show Siegfried and Roy.
He says, "We will be back.
"I’m not saying too much about our new act because we’re still experimenting.
A good magician never lets the cat out of the bag and we want everyone to be surprised when they hear what we’re doing." The duo was one of the most successful stage acts in Las Vegas history until the tragic incident. Horn has always maintained the tiger’s innocence.

ROLLING STONE BILL WYMAN is so impressed by Scottish singer PAOLO NUTINI, he wants to work with the star on his next album.
The New Shoes hitmaker joined Wyman’s Rhythm Kings group on stage at the recent Led Zeppelin reunion concert in London in December (07), and the veteran rocker was blown away by Nutini’s talent.
He says, "Paolo is a great young singer. He’s got a very original style. When I heard his records I was impressed. He’s got this unusual way of singing I find charming. He doesn’t sing the way you’d expect a guy of 20 to sing. It makes him stand out.
"I’d love to do it. I hope the timing is right so we can sort it out."

RADIOHEAD’s IN RAINBOWS has proved to be as popular in its CD release as it was as a digital download - the album has debuted atop the U.K. album chart.
The LP made headlines in October (07) when the rockers allowed fans to name their own price to digitally download the disc, but the CD version of the album was only released earlier this week (begs31Dec07).
