POLICE HAVE NO PLANS TO CHARGE SPEARS
LATEST: BRITNEY SPEARS will not be charged with any offence following a stand-off with police at her Beverly Hills, California mansion on Thursday (03Jan08) night.
The troubled singer was admitted to Los Angeles’ Cedars-Sinai Medical Center after the incident, which occurred when she refused to hand over her two boys to ex-husband Kevin Federline after a scheduled visit.
Spears is now under close observation at the hospital, where she is being held under Section 5150, meaning medics have reason to believe she is a danger to herself or others.
However, police will not be charging Spears over the incident, which they are treating as a domestic dispute.
A police spokesperson says, "We do not have plans to charge her.
"There was nothing criminal here and as far as the LAPD is concerned the case was closed last night as soon as the children were handed over to their father."
