LATEST: BRITNEY SPEARS’ assistant ALLI SIMS has denied reports she broke down a door with a hammer after the singer barricaded herself in a bathroom with her baby son JAYDEN JAMES.
Spears was involved in a dramatic stand-off with emergency services at her Beverly Hills, California mansion on Thursday night (03Jan07) after refusing to hand over Jayden James and his brother Sean Preston to their father Kevin Federline.
According to PageSix.com, Spears began drinking vodka after attending a child custody deposition, and then locked herself and Jayden in a bathroom. The website claims Simms broke the door down with a hammer before calling police, who arrived at 8.30pm.
However, Simms insists she wasn’t at the property at the time of the incident.
She says, "I absolutely was not there. And even if I was there I would not have banged down the door with a hammer, that’s not my style. I would have knocked." After refusing to hand over her sons - for whom she only had visitation rights - Spears was taken from her home strapped to a gurney. She was later admitted to a special unit at Los Angeles Cedars-Sinai hospital, for patients deemed to be danger to themselves or others.
Jayden was unharmed and he and Sean Preston are now back in the custody of their father.
Spears’ visitation rights to see her two sons were temporarily suspended on Friday (04Jan08) until 14 January (08).

Comedian TRACY MORGAN realised he had reached rock bottom in his battle with alcohol when his teenage son begged him to stop drinking.
The 39-year-old has long battled substance abuse and was forced to wear an alcohol-monitoring ankle bracelet last year (07) after a number of drink-related charges including driving while intoxicated.
Morgan is now sober and happy and credits his three children with his new lease of life.
He says, "My oldest son asked me not to drink, so that was rock bottom.
"The best thing is the personal growth. My body feels good. I feel funnier."

JUNO actress ELLEN PAGE has moved into a haunted former brothel in her hometown of Halifax, Nova Scotia.
The 21-year-old moved out of her parents’ place and into the spooky pad with a close pal, not realising it’s seedy past.

Australian actress POPPY MONTGOMERY has given birth to a boy.
The Without A Trace star and her boyfriend, actor Adam Kaufman, welcomed Jackson Phillip Kaufman into the world on 23 December (07).
The baby, who is the first child for both parents, was born in Los Angeles and weighed 3.29 kilograms (seven pounds and four ounces).
Montgomery’s pregnancy was written into missing persons drama Without A Trace, on which she plays FBI agent Samantha Spade.

Cult rockers IRON FIRE have parted ways with guitarist JOHAN JACOB - after the musician decided he’d rather play jazz than heavy metal.
Jacob now plans to leave the band’s homeland of Denmark to study jazz abroad, reports website Blabbermouth.net.
In a statement, Iron Fire says: "J.J.’s passion for jazz has over the years grown bigger than for good old heavy metal and he now wants to give that full attention.

Cult rockers FLIPPER are to release their first studio album in 15 years - and the new disc marks the recording debut of new band member KRIST NOVOSELIC.
The former Nirvana bassist joined the veteran group, which hasn’t released an album since 1993’s American Grafishy, to play a handful of live dates in 2006.
And now Flipper are putting the finishing touches to the currently-untitled disc, which they plan to unveil later this year (08).
Drummer Steve DePace tells Billboard.com says, "The album sounds great - I think it’s some of our best work ever. That also is an indicator for more future songs to come. We know we can write songs with Krist now that sound just like Flipper."

AEROSMITH legend JOE PERRY will lend two of his sons moral support next month (Feb08), by performing with their group TAB THE BAND.

Veteran rocker OZZY OSBOURNE was forced to postpone a concert in Portland, Maine on Thursday (03Jan08) night because he was suffering from the flu.
The Paranoid singer has since rescheduled his show at the Cumberland County Civic Center for 31 January (07) and has assured fans their tickets from the original gig will still be valid.
Osbourne, who is touring with Rob Zombie, is expected to be well enough to perform at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. on Saturday (05Jan08).
