KIDS TV PRESENTER ARRESTED OVER GIRLFRIEND’S DEATH
A BBC kids’ TV presenter has been arrested on suspicon of murder following the death of his girlfriend, a fellow children’s TV star.
Mark Speight was arrested in connection with the death of his partner Natasha Collins, who was found dead in the bath of the north London home they shared on Thursday (03Jan08).
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson says, "Police were called at 13.20pm on January 3 to reports of a sudden death of a woman at a residential address in St John’s Wood. The woman, aged in her 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene. A post-mortem will be held in due course, details to be confirmed.
"A man in his 40s was arrested at the scene. He has been bailed to return to a central London police station on a date in February." He was released on bail in the early hours of Friday morning (04Jan08). The cause of Collins’ death has not yet been revealed.
Mark French, Collins’ agent, says, "They always went everywhere together they were just a really fun couple who were fantastic together. This is a very tragic loss for us all."
