RADIOHEAD DEFEND CARBON FOOTPRINT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:19 pm

RADIOHEAD frontman THOM YORKE is adamant the band will reduce their carbon footprint when they go on tour later this year (08).
The star hopes to keep their forthcoming live dates as eco-friendly as possible, but believes their fans are the biggest environmental issue.
He says, "I guess it’s obvious - it’s the mass of people travelling to one place. That’s the really big impact overall." And Yorke admits the band have also considered other means of travel for themselves.
He adds, "Can we go around by ship? Yes, technically speaking, if we were in the freight containers and were prepared to be on the sea for two weeks, that would be more ecologically sound.
"But if you were to go on (cruise liner) the Queen Mary for example, that’s actually worse because they go so fast because they’re so heavy."
