Hollywood actor NICOLAS CAGE has been forced to take his Bel Air mansion off the market after it failed to sell - despite being on offer for a year.
The star purchased the house in 1998 for $7 million (£3.5 million) and put the property up for sale in 2006 with a price tag of $35 million (£17.5 million).
However Cage has now withdrawn the sale after 12 months on the realtor’s books failed to secure a buyer.

HARRY POTTER star DANIEL RADCLIFFE has fought off competition from HEATH LEDGER and ORLANDO BLOOM to land the lead role in a new movie about a slain photo-journalist.
The 22-year-old will appear as photographer Dan Eldon in Journey, a film chronicling the civil war in Somalia. Eldon was one of four journalists stoned to death by a mob in the African country in 1993.
And Eldon’s mother Kathy believes Radcliffe was the perfect choice to play her tragic son.
She says, "We resisted a lot of older actors because Dan was a boy emerging into manhood." A compilation of Eldon’s diaries - on which the film is based - has sold 200,000 copies since being published in 1997.

SIR PAUL McCARTNEY infuriated his estranged wife HEATHER MILLS over the festive season by returning their daughter BEATRICE to her mother an hour late.
The couple, currently locked in a bitter divorce battle, both spent time with the four-year-old on Wednesday (26Dec07) - but McCartney failed to deliver the child back to Mill’s home in East Sussex at a pre-arranged time.
A source tells British newspaper The Mirror, "They arranged for him to have Bea between 2pm and 5pm but he didn’t arrive until 6pm - and didn’t even ring to let her know she was running late.
"Heather wasn’t happy. She made it patently clear she wasn’t happy. She thought it was incredibly inconsiderate and rude." Mills and McCartney are due to appear in court to continue negotiations over their divorce settlement in February next year (08).

LATEST: Pop superstar MADONNA is the "perfect mum" to Malawian tot DAVID BANDA - according to the adoption official overseeing their case.
The singer and her husband, Guy Ritchie, were visited by social worker Simon Chisdale at their London home earlier this year (07), and were reported to have been given approval earlier this month (Dec07) to make the two-year-old part of their family.
The couple took Banda back to Britain from the African nation last year (06), and Chisdale gave the pair a glowing report, describing Madonna as "a perfect mum for David… a confident and able parent." Ritchie was described as having formed a "warm, playful interaction" with Banda. The adoption could be officially granted by a Malawian court in April next year (08).

Actress JENNA FISCHER is urging women to go see her new film WALK HARD: THE DEWEY COX STORY because it is full of male nudity.
The 33-year-old is sure the amount of male flesh on show in the movie will be a draw for female audiences - but insists she didn’t have to strip off too.
She writes on her Myspace page, "Think 40-Year Old Virgin but with full-frontal male nudity, too. That’s right, ladies, we have penis. There is a ton of nudity. "I don’t get naked in the film, (but) I had to be sewn into most of my costumes to make sure they were as tight as possible. My wardrobe assistant’s main job was making sure my boobs didn’t fall out."

Comedian BILLY CONNOLLY has escaped serious injury after being involved in a car accident in Scotland.
The Mrs Brown star crashed his Land Rover while driving on a main road near Ballater, Aberdeenshire on Sunday (30Dec07) afternoon.
But 65-year-old is reported to have been unhurt following the incident, the cause of which is still unknown.

British reality TV star LEON JACKSON has held on to the number one slot in the U.K. singles chart with his debut track WHEN YOU BELIEVE.
The 18-year-old The X Factor 2007 winner fought off competition from Leona Lewis and Soulja Boy Tellem for a second week at the top.
Lewis’ hit Bleeding Love moved up to number two, while Soulja Boy Tellem also shifted up two places to take the number three spot with Crank That (Soulja Boy).

The Ivory Coast’s biggest reggae star ALPHA BLONDY has staged his first concert in his native country since the failed 2002 coup.
The musician held the gig for 5,000 fans in the coastal town of Grand Bassam, which served as the country’s capital in the early years of French colonial rule.
Alpha Blondy has not performed in the Ivory Coast since the country was split in two after a militant uprising against leader President Gbagbo - and the star used the event to call for an end to the trouble in the region.
He told fans, "Ivory Coast needs all its children to accomplish a durable and lasting peace."

MICHELLE PFEIFFER is desperate to star in a remake of seventies movie musical GREASE - and she wants JESSICA SIMPSON to play SANDY.
The actress is desperately embarrassed about her performance in the ill-fated Grease 2, and wants to erase all memory of it by making a new version of the original film.
Pfieffer is thrilled by reports Simpson is being touted to play prom queen Sandy Dumbrowski - and has her eye on the role of the comical Principal McGee.
She says, "It’s a great idea, and I hear they would like to get Jessica Simpson for the role of Sandy. She would be good." Pfeiffer adds of her own Grease experience, "I hated that film (Grease 2) with a vengeance and could not believe how bad it was. At the time, was young and didn’t know better… I hear it’s a cult movie now."

R&B star USHER’s personal trainer is in a coma after he was attacked in a parking lot in Atlanta, Georgia.
Darius Miller, 41, was reportedly attempting to stop two cameraman from filming the daughters of the city’s mayor Shirley Franklin, who he was with, when the incident took place at 2.50am on 26 December (07).
He was taken to Atlanta’s Emory Crawford Long Hospital, where he has been visited in intensive care by a host of star clients, including rapper Mase, actress Keisha Knight Pulliam, American football player Takeo Spikes, T-Boz and Ronnie DeVoe of New Edition, reports AllHipHop.com.
Lawyers representing 01 Entertainment - for whom the cameramen were working claim Miller fell during the altercation.
No arrests have been made.

Italian supermodel CARLA BRUNI is poised to become France’s first lady, her mother insists. The 39-year-old has been dating President Nicolas Sarkozy since October (06), and the pair recently sent gossips into a frenzy when Bruni sported a new sapphire ring on her engagement finger during the couple’s Christmas vacation in Egypt.
Bruni’s mother insists the romance is more than a fling - and predicts her daughter will soon be Mrs Sarkozy.

Movie funnyman SACHA BARON COHEN has discovered there is life after his comic creation BORAT - he has landed a starring role in a STEVEN SPIELBERG movie.
Just a week (22Dec07) after Cohen announced he had retired Borat - following the success of 2006 movie Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan - he has been signed to star as 60s hippie satirist Abbie Hoffman in The Trial of the Chicago Seven.
Hoffman found fame during the Vietnam War by playing pranks to campaign against the conflict. The movie is slated for release in 2010.
Vincent D’Onofrio previously played Hoffman in 2000 film Steal This Movie, which was based on a screenplay written by Hoffman and his wife Anita.

In Spider-Man No. 545 the web-slinger agrees a deal with villain Mephisto, to protect his identity and spare his elderly Aunt May. In return Spider-Man’s alter ego Peter Parker must turn his back on Mary-Jane and their history together - which has been erased from their memories.

A STAR TREK fan is suing TV giant CBS Paramount and auction house Christie’s, claiming he was sold fake memorabilia from the show worth more than $20,000 (GBP10,000).
Ted Moustakis alleges he bought a uniform for $11,400 (GBP5,700); a poker table for $6,600 (GBP3,300) and spent $6,000 (GBP3,000) on a visor advertised as being worn by the character Data. All the items, from an October 2006 sale to celebrate the show’s 40th anniversary, were dubbed "one-of-a-kind".
Moustakis claims he was later humiliated when he attended a Star Trek convention and Brent Spiner - who played Data - revealed the visor was a fake.
Moustakis, 46, says, "He (Spiner) said he had told Christie’s not to sell it." His lawyer Richard Borzouye says, "The public were told these were items used in the show. He believed he was getting the real thing."
