LATEST: Actress MISCHA BARTON had been smoking marijuana when she was arrested by police for driving under the influence on Thursday morning (27Dec07), according to reports.
The former The O.C. star was pulled over by West Hollywood cops in the early hours of Thursday when she was spotted straddling two lanes of traffic. She was taken into custody on suspicion of DUI, but was also booked for possession of narcotics and driving on a suspended license.
And the 21-year-old, who scored a 0.12 on a breathalyser test, was also found to have marijuana on her person, as well as prescription drugs which were not in her name, according to TMZ.com.
She is currently free on $10,000 (£5,000) bail after being released on Thursday night.

R&B star USHER has credited the joy of fatherhood for turning him into a "super dad".
The singer and his hairstylist wife Tameka Foster welcomed little Usher Raymond V into the world in November (07), and the Yeah! hitmaker admits the baby’s birth has transformed him into an all-round family man.
He says, "I’m really like super dad. Really. I really cook for the family.
"Now I basically do chicken and broccoli and steamed vegetables, because I’m on this diet. But believe me, I can fry some chicken too…
"I really clean up. I walk the dog, myself. I burp the baby. I change the diapers. I trim the tree. I’m about to get the things for the tree after this because it’s bare. … I’m super dad. And it’s only begun." And Usher is also enjoying documenting every moment of the tot’s young life.
He adds, "I’ve become an instant photographer, developing them and everything."

Troubled star BRITNEY SPEARS has been blasted for her erratic driving once again - this time by the paparazzi.
The singer was caught driving her white Mercedes-Benz at speeds of up to 100 miles (160 kilometers)-per-hour in Los Angeles on Thursday night (27Dec07), prompting her large army of snappers to beg her to slow down over fears for her and other people’s safety.

KEIRA KNIGHTLEY has blasted Hollywood residents for leading an insular existence, insisting she could never survive in such a stifling environment.
The British beauty - who has bagged a Golden Globe nomination for her performance in Atonement - has become a prominent name in Hollywood, but couldn’t bear to live amongst her movie-obsessed contemporaries.
Instead, Knightley has chosen to stay in London - because it offers so much more variety.

WILL SMITH is reluctant to play a villain on the big screen - because it would conflict with his natural instinct to make people laugh.
The Oscar-nominated actor - who shot to prominence in hit TV sitcom The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air - has stepped away from comedy to star in such movies as Ali, The Pursuit Of Happyness and I Am Legend, but he insists funny films remain his top choice of work.
And he’d only ever contemplate playing the bad guy if the role carried an important message.
He tells British magazine Empire, "I enjoy inspiring good feelings, that is fun for me. Comedy I would say is my most fun. How people react to Hitch and The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air, there is nothing that matches that.
"I’m sure there is a bad guy at some point that has the right message.
Scarface had the right message about power and drugs and it showed you exactly where that mess was going to end up."

Rocker STING is to celebrate the New Year in style, after splashing out thousands of dollars to treat his family to a cruise around Australia.

JERRY SEINFELD has snubbed the chance to host the Academy Awards - preferring instead to perform for an audience that isn’t racked with nerves.
The American comedian has turned the job down on numerous occasions over fears organisers will keep inviting him back.
But what appeals to him least is the prospect of performing in front of a crowd of Oscar nominees, whose minds are too focused on winning awards to laugh at his jokes.
He tells British magazine Empire, "If I hosted the Oscars and I did it really well, they would just ask me to do it again. And then again. And again.
"There’s no up-side. I don’t know, it’s just a weird environment. I’m lucky that I can do things that kind of interest me as a challenge, but everybody there is nervous, you know? They want to win their award.
"They’re not there to have fun. I like to go in front of an audience that wants to have fun."

Members of America’s National Film Registry have selected movies like HUMPHREY BOGART’s IN A LONELY PLACE, MICHAEL J. FOX’s BACK TO THE FUTURE and KEVIN COSTNER’s DANCES WITH WOLVES for inclusion in the Library of Congress.
Every year, the organisation chooses 25 classic American films which are deemed to be "culturally, historically or aesthetically" significant for preservation in the U.S. Library of Congress. Movies both new and old are eligible for consideration, and titles are nominated by the public on an annual basis.
Among the films selected this year (07) include 1955 cowboy musical Oklahoma!, 1948 crime drama The Naked City, 1977 sci-fi movie Close Encounters of the Third Kind, and 1939’s Wuthering Heights.
In a statement issued with the final nominations on Thursday (27Dec07), Librarian of Congress James H. Billington says, "Even as Americans fill the movie theaters to see the latest releases, few are aware that up to half the films produced in this country before 1950 - and as much as 90 per cent of those made before 1920 - are lost forever.
"The National Film Registry seeks not only to honour these films, but to ensure that they are preserved for future generations to enjoy."

Organisers of the Miss France contest have ruled 2008 winner VALERIE BEGUE can keep her crown after sexually suggestive photographs surfaced of the model last week (ends21Dec07).
The 22-year-old beauty pageant winner, a student from the French Indian Ocean island of Reunion, returned home triumphant after her win earlier this month (Dec07).
But her joy was short-lived after event organisers took exception to pictures, taken three years ago but only published in a French magazine recently, which depicted her floating on a crucifix in a swimming pool and eating yogurt in way deemed lewd by contest officials.
However, organisers have ignored calls to have Begue stripped of her title and ruled on Friday (28Dec07) she was allowed to keep her tiara, after she claimed the images had been printed without her consent.
But Begue will not be eligible to compete in the Miss World or Miss Universe contests - and instead will be replace by Miss New Caledonia.

Studio bosses bulked at proposals for TIM BURTON’s SWEENEY TODD movie, because they feared a musical/horror film with no "pop songs" would bomb at the box office, according to the director himself.
The maverick filmmaker struggled to win over movie bigwigs, not least when he opted to cast Johnny Depp - who has no previous singing experience - in the lead role.
But Burton has praised Hollywood for greenlighting such a risky project.
He tells British film magazine Empire, "What’s weird is that they (the studios) are afraid of musicals anyway, but an R-rated musical with blood that’s not based on pop songs, it’s like, ‘F**k!’ "Then it was like, ‘Um, can he (Depp) sing?’ Nobody knew. I didn’t know. So that’s the joke of the whole thing. In a way, that’s the surreal nature of Hollywood, so you have to love it for that because on paper, it’s like the worst idea of all time!"

Latin star RICKY MARTIN will be honoured for his contribution to music and charitable work for children in Puerto Rico.
The singer - who created the non-profit Ricky Martin Foundation to advocate for children’s rights - will be saluted at the San Sebastian Street Festival on 17 January (08).
The 36-year-old is said to be thrilled to receive the honour.

Rapper SEAN ‘DIDDY’ COMBS is to cement his superstar status with an honour on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The Come To Me hitmaker and Bad Boy Records mogul broke the news in a phone call to singer/actor Jamie Foxx on his satellite radio show, The Foxxhole, last week (21Dec07), when he revealed that he will receive his own star on Los Angeles’ famed Hollywood Boulevard in a ceremony next month (11Jan08).
He said: "I’m from Harlem, New York, so to get a star in Hollywood is just mind-blowing.
"You can get a lot of things but when you see those stars on the ground…

Singer BILLY JOEL will premiere his classical composition WALTZ NO.2 (STEINWAY HALL) at the Academy of Music when he makes his debut with the Philadelphia Orchestra next month (Jan08).
Joel will join soprano Disella Larusdottie, pianist Conrad Tao and stage act the Blue Man Group at the event on 26 January (08) to mark the 151st anniversary of the Academy of Music.
The 58-year-old released Fantasies & Delusions, a disc of classical creations, in 2001, but the forthcoming performance of Waltz No.2 will be the first time it will be played in a new orchestration.
A share of the proceeds from the concert will go to benefit the orchestra’s Billy Joel Endowment Fund for Education.

R&B singer TREY SONGZ has found himself in the middle of another concert scandal after video footage emerged of the star attacking a fan at a recent gig.
Songz - real name Tremaine Aldon Neverson - has been captured on tape appearing to beat up a U.S. concertgoer after allegedly throwing ice at the stage.
In several videos posted on YouTube.com, the singer can be seen ordering his DJ to cut the music as he angrily calls for the offenders to "own the f**k up".
After spotting the man he believes to be the culprit, Songz and his heavyset bodyguard stunned the crowd by jumping into the crowd and attacking the suspect.
One witness tells AllHipHop.com, "They beat the dude down. Took his jewels, chains, and grills. The dude’s mouth got bloodied up. Then Trey comes back in and finished the night." The latest incident comes just two months after a shooting occurred at Songz’ concert in Atlanta, Georgia, in October (07), which left one man fighting for his life after being shot in the abdomen. Songz was not directly involved in the crime.

She explained: ‘I pack everything in plastic. I take it quite seriously I suppose - I have to though, because this is my life, wrapped in plastic. My life is on the road.’ The Black Eyed Peas star also revealed one of her favourite pastimes is separating her wardrobe into categories.
