DIRECTING DEBUT LEFT WASHINGTON IN PAIN
DENZEL WASHINGTON was left doubled up in pain on the set of his directorial debut in 2002 - because he couldn’t cope with the stress.
The Oscar winner realised he was in over his head during the first week of shooting Antwone Fisher - and had to call for medical help.
He recalls, "The fear of the unknown is paralysing. I mean I had to go to a chiropractor about a week out because I was freaking out.
"I sat down with the cinematographer… and said, `Where do we put the camera?’ and he said, ‘Well, I dunno.’"
