Bodies binned
A Chinese crematorium has been dumping half-burnt corpses to try and save on diesel costs.
Villagers in Henyang County discovered the practice when an “unbearable stench” started coming from the site.
The angry residents then tried to block a road to stop funeral vehicles from delivering more bodies.
One said: “After investigating we found crematorium workers putting half-burnt human remains and organs in plastic bags and throwing them in a nearby ditch.
“As the price of diesel rose we saw more and more bags thrown out by the crematorium.” China was hit by its worst fuel crisis in four years from October to November, with fuel in many parts of the country being rationed, causing long queues at petrol stations.
