A childhood Christmas was ruined for CHEVY CHASE, when robbers struck and stole all his presents.
The comedy star is still haunted by the festive nightmare, more than 50 years on.
He tells the New York Daily News, "I was maybe 11. My parents got whatever money they had and piled the presents up.
"We lived in East Harlem and we went to the cathedral for midnight mass.
"I couldn’t wait to get home. And like around 2 in the morning when we walked in, we discovered we’d been robbed. Everything, gone."
