VAUGHN’S SANTA CLAUSE WITH SISTERS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 4:03 pm

VINCE VAUGHN conned his parents into thinking he believed in Father Christmas throughout his childhood - because he feared he wouldn’t get any presents if they knew what he really thought.
Vaughn, who plays Santa’s grumpy brother in new movie Fred Claus, admits he stopped believing in St. Nicholas when he was six, but struck a deal with his sisters to keep the myth alive.
He says, "I went to my sisters and said, `Don’t tell mum and dad because then we may not get gifts anymore. You got to keep pretending you think there’s a Santa Claus.’ "So I was 16 saying, `When is Santa comin’ down the chimney?’ and finally my dad was like, `Look, son, it’s getting weird. You’re getting older and you know there’s not a Santa Claus but we’re gonna keep giving you gifts.’" But Vaughn could never spoil the magic of Christmas for other kids - like his neighbours did for him when he was six.
He adds, "We just did this promotional thing for Fred Claus and when it was over this 10-year-old kid came running up to me and he says, `Hey Fred, tell your brother to get me something this year!’ I looked at him and said, `I got you.’ "So I’m hoping his parents get him something good or otherwise he’ll hold me accountable for it."

WHALLEY STILL BELIVES IN FATHER CHRISTMAS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 4:03 pm

British actress JOANNE WHALLEY still believes in Santa Claus - at the age of 43.
The former wife of Val Kilmer admits she still writes letters to St. Nicholas in the hope of getting everything on her gift wish list - and she insists her kids do the same.
She says, "I like Christmas. We always get our letters off to the North Pole; my kids are 16 and 12. I write letters to Santa too! "My kids kind of do it for a laugh but I have to admit I’m semi-serious. I’d like to believe in Santa. I read somewhere that whatever you believe in is true for you, so I’ve decided Santa exists for me.
"I wait until December 20th to get the letters off. You know if you send letters they actually go to the North Pole. You can Google the North Pole too.
I should just send Santa an e-mail." Meanwhile, Whalley admits one Christmas Day (25Dec) nightmare turned into a dream Christmas - when her home in Los Angeles was hit by a power cut.
She recalls, "I put the radio on and we lit every candle we could find and we had a fire. There was A Christmas Carol playing on the radio with Orson Welles’ radio company and it was an amazing production. We just sat and listened and it was one of my favourite Christmases.
"No one could play with their PlayStations and there was nothing much we could do. It was actually really nice to sit around and listen to the radio."

DANSON RECALLS GRAND CANYON CHRISTMASES

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 4:00 pm

Former CHEERS star TED DANSON’s festive seasons rarely match up to those he enjoyed as a child in Arizona - because he’d spend Christmas morning staring into the Grand Canyon.
The actor’s parents would pack bourbon and whiskey in flasks and spend much of Christmas Day (25Dec) walking around the rim of the natural wonder.
He recalls, "My mother would always pack what my parents called a medicine kit, which was a bottle of scotch and a bottle of bourbon for them to have their cocktails.
"We would drive around the rim of the Grand Canyon at a whim because they could get up there and have cocktails on the edge of the Grand Canyon.
"We would go up with our tomato soup with a little sherry in it. I sound like I come from a bunch of alcoholics, but they weren’t." Even the Danson’s trip to get a Christmas tree would be a magical adventure.
He adds, "I grew up in this kind of wonderful Christmas place just outside Flagstaff and we always had the biggest snows right around there. We were 7,000 to 13,000 feet up, at the foot of an old volcano.
"We’d go out into the pine forest with our permit and cut down our Christmas tree, put it on our car and come back. We would go slogging through the snow in the middle of nowhere to find a Christmas tree."
