Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 10:48 pm

Heavily pregnant t.A.T.u. star JULIA VOLKOVA has stunned Russian fans by posing in nothing but her knickers for a new Maxim magazine shoot.
The sultry singer and bandmate Lena Katina posed in their lingerie for the spread, which graces the new issue of Russia’s Maxim.
Wearing nothing but black panties, Volkova, who is expecting her first child early in 2008, covers her breasts in the provocative photos, while redhead Katina kneels on a bed beside her bandmate, wearing red knickers and a matching bustier.
The Russian pop stars agreed to pose for the saucy shoot to promote their new album Waste Management.
Volkova isn’t the only pregnant star currently gracing a top magazine - Christina Aguilera can be seen showing off her baby bump on the cover and inside the new Marie Claire. (KL/WN) WENN - BREAKING NEWS - 23 DECEMBER 2007 —————————————————————-

BROWN AGREES TO DONATE APPEARANCE FEE AFTER CRITICISM

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:30 pm

SPICE GIRL MELANIE BROWN has agreed to donate her $20,000 (£10,000) fee for her personal appearance at a charity event after she was criticised by the event’s fundraisers.
The star was taking part in a Christmas sing-a-long at London department store Selfridges on Monday (17Dec07), raising money for the Make-A-Wish foundation, an organisation for terminally ill children.
Brown - who brought along husband Stephen Belafonte for the event - was paid to sing festive hits such as Santa Claus Is Coming To Town with the public, before taking a collection bucket around the assembled crowd.
A source tells British newspaper the News Of The World, "All Mel B did was sing a couple of Christmas songs, sign autographs and mingle in with the crowd collecting donations in a plastic bucket.
"And for that she pocketed £10,000 that should have gone to needy kids. Many people felt she should have waived her fee. It’s the least she could have done to help the needy kids." However, a spokesperson for Brown has confirmed the sum will now be donated to children’s hospitals in the U.S.

WINEHOUSE AT CENTRE OF KIDNAP PLOT?

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:30 pm

British criminals have threatened to kidnap troubled star AMY WINEHOUSE, according to reports.
The singer is reported to be at the centre of a plot masterminded by prisoners at London’s Pentonville Prison to kidnap the star, unless husband and fellow inmate Blake Fielder-Civil pays them a $200,000 (£100,000) ransom.
Fielder-Civil is currently on remand after being charged with perverting the course of justice in connection with an assault case - and now fears for his wife’s safety outside the prison, after Winehouse was photographed earlier this month (Dec07) leaving her house alone in the middle of the night.
A source tells British newspaper the News Of The World, "Blake’s petrified.
He’s living in fear for Amy’s life and his own. At first he thought the guys in here were just trying their luck but the threats have got really bad. He’s now under no illusions and convinced they’ll go through with what they say.
"They’ve ordered Blake to pay the 100 grand ($200,000; £100,000) into a secret bank account within the next few days or else… and Amy will be snatched and harmed. She’s at her weakest right now, and what with her wandering the streets in the dead of night she’s at a massive risk."

PARKER: ‘I’M TOO OLD FOR FASHION FOLLOWING’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:28 pm

Actress SARAH JESSICA PARKER is "too old" to suffer for fashion - and no longer attempts to keep up with her SEX AND THE CITY-dictated high-fashion wardrobe.
The 42-year-old, who is currently filming the big-screen adaptation of the hit U.S. TV show, admits she’s nothing like her alter ego Carrie Bradshaw, and isn’t afraid to embrace casual clothing.
She says, "Often, I’ll go to the market and women will say, ‘Let me see your shoes.’ And then I show them I’m wearing flip-flops.
"I say, ‘I’m old now. I can’t run around in heels when I go to the market for my son’s yoghurt."

BASSEY FUMES AT BIRTHDAY SINGING CLAIMS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:27 pm

DAME SHIRLEY BASSEY is incensed by claims she performed at her 70th birthday part - insisting she only sings "at her shows." The Welsh star’s birthday celebrations took place last Sunday (16Dec07) at a lavish $1 million (£500,000) ceremony, with guests including Sir Elton John, Madonna, Elle McPherson, Kevin Spacey and George Michael.
Bassey was rumoured to have performed an impromptu gig at the party, but the singer insists she never plays at private functions.
She says, "The papers said that I sang my hits at the party but it’s not true. If that gets out, then people will think I’ll sing every time they invite me to a party. I sing only when I do my shows." Bassey did, however, sing a rendition of Happy Birthday To Me in the style of Marilyn Monroe at the bash.

BASSEY: ‘THERE’S NO REAL TALENT ON TV TALENT SHOWS’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:27 pm

Singing legend DAME SHIRLEY BASSEY has slammed reality TV talent shows for their failure to nurture any "real" talent.
The 70-year-old star is adamant those who are the most gifted on shows like American Idol and British show The X Factor are voted off well before the series’ finals - and believes many young people want to become famous for nothing in particular.
She says, "It seems there’s no place for people with talent anymore. You only have to look at television to see that. And if people do have any talent, they get voted out of the shows. It’s disgusting. It’s an abuse. It seems that people want to be famous for being nothing - or drinking.
"I’m always being asked if I watch (British TV talent show) The X Factor and I do from time to time. I know it makes for great TV and that Simon Cowell has a real gift. But it is a crying shame that kids who ought to have a great future are being ignored."

LOHAN QUIT DRUGS THROUGH SEX WITH GILES

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:24 pm

A former boyfriend of troubled star LINDSAY LOHAN claims she was cured from drug addiction after swapping narcotics for passionate sex.
The actress dumped snowboarder Riley Giles earlier this month (Dec07), but Giles insists Lohan’s sex addiction helped wean her off any illegal substances she was taking.
He tells British newspaper the News Of The World, "Lindsay’s definitely a nymphomaniac. She’s wild in bed. We’d have sex a couple of times in the day and then go to it through the night. We once did it four times in a row. That was crazy. Lindsay was insatiable. "When you orgasm, your endorphins shoot up and it becomes a massive natural high. If you have an addictive personality like Lindsay you need that to replace the highs you got from taking drugs all the time. Sex became part of her recovery."

PIPER BANS KIDS FROM WEDDING

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:21 pm

British actress BILLIE PIPER has infuriated the family of her husband-to-be by banning children from her forthcoming wedding.
The star, who is set to wed fellow actor Laurence Fox on New Year’s Eve (31Dec07), has requested youngsters be kept away from the service.
The move has angered Fox’s uncle, producer Robert Fox - who has two young children aged nine and 11 - both of which he hoped to bring to the event.
A source tells British newspaper The Mail On Sunday, "Robert is very upset and has made his opinions known. The Fox family are (sic) very traditional and think that weddings should be all about having children around.
"We have received certain instructions for the day, one of which is that babies and young children are not allowed at the service." Earlier this month (Dec07) it was revealed the pair will hold their wedding reception in a pub owned by Piper’s ex-husband, British DJ Chris Evans. Piper and 41-year-old Evans were divorced in June (07), after five years of marriage.

In the show, to be aired next Sunday (30Dec07) in the U.K., fhe author is shown back at the home in which she spent years as a struggling writer.
And Rowling admits she was shocked to see the flat’s new owners have copies of her Potter novels displayed on bookshelves in her lounge.
She tells viewers, "For years now, I’ve felt that if it all disappeared - and some days I do feel like, ‘Is it real?’ - then this is where I’d come back to.
"And if I’d known that 10 years on I’d come back with a film crew and there’d be my published books on someone else’s bookcases in this room - that is really incredible to me."

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:21 pm

Filmmaking siblings THE COEN BROTHERS have ruled out ever making a science-fiction movie - because the idea of spacesuits baffles them.
The brothers, who are tipped for Oscar glory next year (08) with their latest film No Country For Old Men, have made films inspired by a number of different genres, from noir, to screwball and even a musical of sorts.
But setting a film in space is one they’ll never try.
Says Ethan, "Neither of us is drawn to that kind of fiction…. I don’t think we could get our minds around the whole spacesuit thing."

MYLO ESCAPES DRINK-DRIVING CHARGES

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:18 pm

Scottish dance star MYLO has avoided a drink-driving charge after two police officers failed to turn up for his court case.
The musician, real name Myles McInnes, appeared at Glasgow District Court earlier this week (ends23Dec07) over an incident in March (07), in which he was stopped by police in the city for being over the legal alcohol limit.
But two police officer witnesses who were scheduled to appear at the case failed to turn up to court. Prosecutors had hoped to delay the case despite the no-show, but the charges were subsequently dropped.
Graham Walker, McInnes’ lawyer, had argued for the case to be abandoned after the charges had exceeded a six-month limit for bringing drink-driving cases to court.
He says, "I had intended to call for the case to be deserted. However I was not aware that the two police witnesses would not turn up, which then became another argument for the charges to be dropped. It would not have been fair on my client to have the case adjourned."
