LATIFAH TO HOST ALTERNATIVE PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARDS
LATEST: QUEEN LATIFAH is to remain the host of the alternative People’s Choice Awards in America next month (Jan08), but all winners will accept their awards via video.
The event was cancelled earlier this week (beg17Dec07) in the wake of the ongoing Hollywood writers strike, but a less-starry prizegiving will now take place.
There will be no red carpet and the media will not be invited to cover proceedings. Instead, the winners will be informed over Christmas and asked to submit a video acceptance message for the January TV show.
Striking writers plan to picket all awards shows that go ahead in the New Year (08).
