HOFFMAN’S FILM FRIGHT THREATENS HIS MARRIAGE
DUSTIN HOFFMAN becomes so nervous in the build up to shooting a new movie, it almost destroys his marriage each time.
Even after a 40-year acting career, Hoffman confesses he is wracked with fear when approaching new projects, and his wife Lisa bears the brunt of his emotions.
He says, "My wife has said that the closest she has ever come to divorcing me is two weeks before a movie starts, when the fear begins to build up.
"All your bottom feelings come to the surface: ‘I’m a fraud; I don’t know what I’m doing.’ It’s that couple of weeks when you’re walking around trying to think, `What am I going to do here?’"
