MOVIE INSPIRES FERRELL TO TAKE UP BASKETBALL
Hollywood funnyman WILL FERRELL has signed up to a celebrity basketball team after playing a coach in his new movie SEMI-PRO.
The comedian has become passionate about the sport and has even joined the NBA (National Basketball Association)’s Entertainment League - a team which sees stars playing games every weekend.
Ferrell joins teammates including Ashton Kutcher, Tobey Maguire, Josh Duhamel, Brandon Routh, Leonardo DiCaprio and Don Cheadle, according to New York gossip column, Pagesix. Other newcomers due to make their E League debuts this month (Dec07) include Justin Timberlake, Snoop Dogg, Adam Sandler and Shia LaBeouf.
Semi-pro - which is due for release in February (08) - also stars Woody Harrelson and tells the story of a singer-turned-coach who helps a struggling basketball team to victory.
