BLIGE FEELS SORRY FOR WINEHOUSE
R&B superstar MARY J. BLIGE has spoken out in support of troubled singer AMY WINEHOUSE - because she knows what it’s like to be constantly followed by the tabloid trouble.
Blige, who once battled substance abuse problems, feels sorry for stars such as Winehouse and Britney Spears as they fight their personal problems in public.
She says, "They’re human beings, and they’re young, in a business that doesn’t give a hoot about you. It’s just sad. I hate to see any of these females go through it.
"I was young, and I did dumb stuff - I was doing worse than that." Winehouse sparked fresh fears for her health last week (ends07Dec07) after she was pictured wandering the streets outside her London home in just a bra and jeans, and Spears is currently embroiled in a custody battle with her ex-husband Kevin Federline over their two infant sons.
